I wonder whose comments these were on the RBR?
And this is “THE BEST VERSION” of Wilder?
Just because he “showed heart”
He got battered, put on his ass 4 times , could hardly stand up when Fury blew his house down. And according to you , @
Master, at the time of the KO , he was down 8 ROUNDS TO 2 !!
Fury is that good, he would do the same against any of the heavyweights today. I could not see AJ giving Fury as much trouble or resistance.
Usyk??
Question marks are right when you type Usyk. He was given hell by Chisora early on in the fight and Fury would do the same but far better.
Spot on. Chisora really smashed the hips and arms of Uzyk. Smashed and roughed him up well. All's Uzyk can do is run like little bitc*. All night long, run away little girl. Chisora switched southpaw well and smashed right hands well into jaw of Uzyk. Constant pressure. 115-113 on 2 judges cards. I scored it 114-114
Sounds remarkably like Brock. Weird isn't it? 😁

Re: Robert Helenius vs deontay Wilder possible October
Deontay Wilder will face Robert Helenius in the American's first fight since his second defeat by Tyson Fury.
Wilder has been sidelined since his trilogy-fight loss to Fury last October but remains highly-ranked and in line for a shot at Fury's world title if the Brit vacates. He will first have to overcome Finland's Helenius at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on October 15.
Wilder will the likely be ordered to fight the winner of Joe Joyce's clash with Joseph Parker next month, assuming Fury is serious about retiring from the ring.
On announcing his return, Wilder said: "It’s been a long journey for me and as of today it continues. I thought so many times about whether I should stay out of the business or come back. Once I got my statue in my hometown and saw so many people arrive and celebrate with me and my family, to see all the emotions, grown men crying in front of their children and saying he is a real true king, made me feel like my job is not done.
"So, here I am once again, looking forward to returning to the ring. I am looking forward to coming to Barclays Center, a place where I have had my most devastating knockouts and a place I consider my second home."
Helenius has won his last three fights, including back-to-back wins over Adam Kownacki, the second of which was on the undercard of Wilder's final defeat by Fury. "It’s great to be back at Barclays Center in an even bigger fight than my last one," he said.
"I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for a long time and I’m going to be ready. I’m going to produce an even bigger upset than I did with Kownacki. I’m going for the belt, so this is a fight to prepare me to achieve that goal. I can only become the best heavyweight in the world by beating the best and that’s what I intend to do on October 15."
The undercard will feature a clash between former super-middleweight world champions Caleb Plant and Anthony Dirrell.

Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
PPV!!!???! No :S... Helenius was kod by duhaupas, it could be a pretty visually impressive ko when wilder lands but that's not worth the ppv money.... Shamefull.

Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
I'm really big on Robert and also on big baby Miller. Perfect time for Robert to shock the world and take out the atomic windmill who basically can never be the same after those three beatdowns from Tyson. Ripe for the picking

Basically, Fury thinks he beats AJ. But he doesn’t think he beats Usyk.
Take what Fury says with a pinch of salt. He wants to be undisputed champion and if Usyk wins Fury will face him. Fury is too big for Usyk and he will use that size to his advantage.
Fury is nowhere on the ATG heavyweight list until he becomes the best of his generation, undisputed and defends the title more times.
Perfectly reasonable line of argument on both counts
Usyk has now stated he wants Tyson or he may no longer fight.

Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Truth is Helenius probably went to school on what Ortiz, Fury and even Washington managed behind a strong jab in the pipe. Afterall it's not like Wilder is coming in fresh off of a KO loss. He's coming in off of two KO losses followed by a yearlong melt down.

Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Deontay Wilder could face either Anthony Joshua, Andy Ruiz Jr or Oleksandr Usyk next if he beats Robert Helenius, according to his manager.
The Bronze Bomber has been out of action since last November after being knocked out by Tyson Fury in the eleventh round of their trilogy fight in Las Vegas.
Wilder, 36, returns to the ring next month at Barclays Center in New York on October 15.
It comes after AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn recently claimed that he made him a very generous offer prior to his rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
But the former heavyweight world champion’s manager Shelly Finkel has now given his side of the story – and it makes perfect sense.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “It’s come out a few times by Eddie Hearn that I avoided him.
“We have a fight coming up with Robert Helenius. Eddie emailed me, ‘Can we talk? I have some big [offer] for Deontay.’
“Right now we have the Helenius fight, that’s all we need to concentrate on. Because if something went wrong there, nothing else would be. And if it goes right, it’ll all get worked out.
“And I felt if I got on a call with Eddie, the next thing you would be on the call to me, ‘Oh, did you and Eddie talk?’
“So I said to Deontay and Al Haymon, ‘What do you think?’ And they said, ‘Let’s just get this fight out of the way.’
“And sure enough, [Eddie Hearn says], ‘Shelly didn’t even talk to me.’”
Finkel added: “I think he also has this feeling that I dislike Eddie.
“No. I don’t always agree with him, we’re on opposite sides, he has a fighter who will hopefully be an opponent for one of my guys, in this case Deontay, and it’s nothing of the sort.
“Barry Hearn and I, we go back 30/40 years and it’s always been very cordial.
“And the Eddie thing, look, he’s been around not as long as he thinks he has, but he’s done some really exciting, good things, so I give him credit for that.
“And when it comes time to make a deal, it’ll get done, or not.”
Of course, Joshua isn’t the only one angling for a fight with Wilder.
Usyk is also seemingly interested in competing against him – but he could also face potential disappointment as it appears that there is another option out there as well.
Finkel continued: “It got done with Wladimir Klitschko and now he seems to be on a path to fight Tyson Fury, I wish him well.
“The other day we got a message that Usyk will fight us if Joshua goes the route of Fury, yeah, we’re open to that, we’re not opposed to that at all.
“And if not, there’s Andy Ruiz Jr, there’s several other options.
“In my mind, until the Fury [vs Joshua] thing came, I was thinking that after the fight with Helenius we would be talking, Eddie and I, but things happen.”

Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
A lot remains to be seen whether Wilder got the snot knocked out of him for good by Fury. At 36, it could be the case. He took tremendous punishment. If he comes in a shot fighter, my boy Robert will be victorious. I am big on Helenius. And Big Baby.

Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Wilder has confirmed that he will be weighing in around the 220lb mark which has been his go-to weight in recent years.
Speaking during a recent press call, he said: "Somewhere between the 2020s. My weight is not going to be what we worry about in this fight or fights in the future. We gained a lot of weight in the last fight, but it was more about the expectations of seeing my body a certain way and I was interested in seeing my body frame in a certain way as well.
"But at this moment in time, I'm going back to what I'm used to and what's comfortable for me and what's comfortable for my body frame and that's going to be around the 2020s or maybe under."
In his last fight against Tyson Fury, Wilder weighed in at a career-heaviest 238lb and admits he felt 'sluggish' and 'heavy' at the weight. "I felt a little sluggish, a little heavy, you've gotta understand I've never been 240 ever in my life before," Wilder continued.
"It was an experiment that I wanted to try and we did what we had to do to get the weight put on and that's an experience in the history books from me "So, the only way to become wise is applying knowledge to life and we've gained a lot of knowledge from that and now we know what to do leading forward."

His speech sounds like Fury really rattled up his brain. Lotta babble there. Meaningless bullshit and excuses now that he was too heavy vs Fury? Hahaha yeah alright, are you sure it aint the costume again Deontay? LMAO I smell a shock Helenius upset here, round 3, Wilder ***SMOKED*** and wriggling around on the floor with the ref waving it off.

Actually I think there is a very good chance of that. 2 minutes 48 seconds is right about at the end of the round and you can picture sudden fireworks so late in the round. I can picture Wilder testing out his overhand right just to see how it feels. And he may land it right on the button so there is a pretty good chance of this actually like you say.

Some fighters never come back from a beat down. If Helenius has the will to win, he may pull off an upset. I doubt it but never can tell.

so deontay weighs in as a briderweight?

Not big on the weight while talking about sparring 1001 rounds etc. I think going forward his foundation and legs are a legit concern, that's where he's built like a bantamweight. Still a showcase for Wilder but If anything, Helenius can manage straight punches and stiff jab that may surprise him. At least for a minute.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
as much as I don't rate Wilder particularly highly, this is a walk in the park for him in my book.
This is the weight he feels most comfortable at and I think that will help him massively.
but hey, with them matchstick legs , if Helenius tags him , he could end up like Bambi on ice.

Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Deontay Wilder has trimmed down for his fight against Robert Helenius after feeling "sluggish" in his defeat by Tyson Fury last year.
Wilder, 36, looks for his first win in almost three years when returns to the ring on Saturday night against former sparring partner Robert Helenius. 'The Bronze Bomber' hasn't fought since being knocked out by heavyweight champion Fury in their epic trilogy fight, but Wilder looks to begin the road back to title contention with a win against Helenius in New York.
In his year away from the ring, Wilder has considerably trimmed down after weighing a career-heavy 238lb for his third fight against Fury and last night scaled 214lb. The American weighed in at 212lb for their first fight in 2018 but he made the strategic decision to bulk up in size for their meeting last October in the hopes of knocking Fury out.
Insisting the extra weight made him perform worse on the night, Wilder explained why he went on a weight loss journey ahead of his comeback fight. “Weight is not going to be what we worry about in this fight or fights in the future,” he said.
“We gained a lot of weight the last fight, just [because] of others’ expectations of seeing my body a certain way. I was interested in seeing my body frame in a certain weight as well. But at this moment in time, I go back to what I’m used to and what’s comfortable to me and what’s comfortable with my body frame and that’s gonna be around maybe in the 220s or maybe under.
"I felt a little sluggish, a little heavy. I never been 240lb ever in my life before, but it was an experiment that I wanted to try and we did what we had to do to get the weight put on there. That’s an experience up in the history books for me. Te only way to become wise is apply knowledge to life and we’ve gained a lot of knowledge from that, now we know what to do moving forward.”
The former heavyweight champion claims to have sparred almost 600 rounds in less than a month in preparation for Helenius, who is unbeaten in over three years. 'The Nordic Nightmare' upset the odds when he knocked out Adam Kownacki in the last boxing event before the Covid-19 pandemic cancelled all sporting events, with Helenius proving his win was no fluke by stopping Kownacki in their rematch on the undercard of Fury vs Wilder 3.

Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
A few prelims on FS1 begin at 6pm here. Michel Rivera v Jerry Perez Lts and Vito Mielnicki Jr v Limberth Ponce Jr Middle.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Gurgen Hovhannisyan out of Armenia, all 6'7 280lbs of him fighting Michael Coffie here. He may look like the big brother of Kownacki but moves much better for a big man.
I'll start early..anyone have a link for main card :-X :ninja:
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Coffie looked to have him wobbled but more off balance mid 3rd. For their size both landing some fast shots. Big step up for just 3 pro starts.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Hovhannisyan with the 6 round tko as ref stops in between rounds, little objection from Coffie. Top ranked 135 Michel Rivera in a showcase with six round fighter Jerry Perez now. With the depth at 135 it's astonishing they're so adept at avoiding each other. Do better PBC.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Faster start in 6th for Rivera think corner said let's go. Perez hurt to body. Tough enough but well in over his head here.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
On nice 1-2 gives Perez his own hope and ref warns him for low blow but was beltline. Brian Kenny calling this like it was Leonard v Hearns ;D. Rivera has some serious talent but he really needs to do impressive things to separate himself at the highest level.
By the looks of Haney on the scale all the belts are about to be up for grabs if (when) he moves up. So now's the time for guys like Rivera to turn up the heat.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Tiny knot formed on top of left eye of Rivera. Going to final round
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Man..small welt under right eye of Rivera ???. He's in control. But just has a habit of making some things harder than need be. He sits inside like this with Tank he's taking a nap.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Chop right hand with 20 seconds left sends a glove touch KD on Perez. Stands up straight "I'm alright" and bell sounds to end fight.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
You guys know the final triplemania of the year is on tonight too...wilder can bugger off..I'm hoping nacho libre makes a return... unfortunately Rameses is dead.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
I'm not sure what the future of 154 is but I'm going to go out on a limb and say Vito Mielnicki Jr. isn't it. But hey, who knows I may be wrong. Looks like a solid spar session into the 5th here with Ponce.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
6th and Mielnicki Jr over thinking things. He has poise though. Needs to press the gas a bit or maybe he wants the full rounds.
-
Re: Deontay Wilder v Robert Helenius 15th October 2022
Shawn Porter..."people look at me and think I was the heavyweight champion" :cwm13:. Speaking of how people from other Countries view Americans maybe ;D
