Torrez v Curtis Harper may be coming a year too late for Harper. Crafty awkward but that durability under the buzzsaw engine block that is Torrez is another question. Good 'scalp' for Torrez if he can nab it.
Love the fact Top Rank is clearly setting the table and mapping out 126 full unification.
Torrez getting some different looks and his physicality worked thru 3. Harper just cannot find any separation. This is the opponent he needs. And any idea why the corner of Harper is yelling 'waterbag' every few seconds ???
Harper falling into that sparring partner syndrome type effort. Aka the how's that check looking :-X. But this will do Torrez good in the long run.
And 90 percent chance if this goes distance the screams of "ohh see what a hype job" will predictably be deafening :D
That's his son ???. If I talked to my Dad like that in any compacity I'd be sleeping on my face ;D
His corner just talk about pulling him out? 7-0 Torrez Jr that offense has slowed.
Cut over left eye of Torrez. Dreads on forehead of Harper just acted as his best punch of the night. Ok good explosion by Torrez knocks the tape out of the hair of Harper and hard 1-2 hooks convince ref to wave if for TKO.
Shu Shu Carrington v Sanchez next up. Going to miss some of this trying to go back and forth.
didn't last long
Wow. That was impressive. Massive right hand lined up behind a blinding pole-jab crumples Sanchez in the corner in round 2. Gets up and down again off left hook and ref waves it as the bell sounds. Shu Shu shining fight to fight. Great poise in those young years.
Now that's professionalism and not trying to bullshit fans by a major network...whole espn announce team acknowledging, analyzing Haney v Prograis card-match on a competitor. No pretending the fighters don't exist simply due to politics! Respect on that
Ready for Zayas fight. ;D
Xander Zayas v Jorge Fortea kicking off. Zayas looks completely amped for it.
Quick hooks from both but Zayas getting in early. Headbutt. Love to see Zayas tighten up..oh down goes Fortea from an accurate brutal left to the body. Up but feeling it. That was a great shot.
Two good rounds for Xander. Nice knockdown shot to the body in Rd 1.
Fortea marking up already and really guarding the body. Fluidity of Zayas is present big time tonight. Long right stuns Fortea in corner. No feeling out process needed here Zayas is pressing for the early night.
Zayas taking a look in 3rd as Fortea steadies the ship. Love to see Zayas shorten up coming in and pipeline the jab. He's one that gets away with wide punching up close and somehow it works well. Zayas 3-zip
all xander through three
Zayas 4th. Nice little upper hook in there. Fortea taking shots like a recently fired mall Santa! Down again
all over in the fifth. xander did what he needed to do. i'd like to see him step up
Finished it to the body. Looks like Fortea hadn't fully recovered from the 1st body shot knockdown.
these main events are probably going to clash
Robeisy v Espinoza up now. Hope Ramirez brought a ladder. Looks very calm cool and collected at intro.
Robeisy intent on firing straight lefts to the body.
Espinoza won that 2nd round. I have it 1-1.
Liking the work by Espinoza coming in. Both firing one at a time here but Robeisy trying to trap and counter. Espinoza 2nd, 1-1
Espinoza knows how to chicken wing the elbows too :-X. That's hell for shorter fighters
Ramirez hasn't been able to solve his lanky opponent. I have it 2-1 Espinoza.
Nice back and forth 3rd. Espinoza is working Robeisy when he forces him back. Champ is throwing one at a time. 2-1 Espinoza
Looks like Ramirez might have to change up his tactics and force his way inside. Problem is Espinoza is more than game on the inside as well.
Damn I'm impressed viva la underdog. Espinoza putting punches together well but also with smart pressure. Picking his spots if we're honest. 3-1 Espinoza. Ramirez is settling into a bad pattern.
Call me old as dirt...but still cannot believe major networks are making live betting odds a key feature. Not like the sport is crooked or anything :-X
Ohh talk about a quick shift! Robeisy finds his brick and drops Espinoza hard. He's hurt but back to corner. Don't you dare Fundora this Espinoza! 3-2 Espinoza
Espinoza steady but now leaning over his lead. Very calculated shot turned that flow around. Just buzzed him again. Strong finish Robeisy. 3-3 even fight
