Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
It could go either way, which is the big sell for this fight. More than likely it will be a dull contest where both agree not to hurt one another and goes the full distance.

As much as I would love to buy into all the vids of Tyson in training looking like a beast, they are 10 second snippets. This has got fix written all over it. Both guys standing off and boring as fuck.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
That an ATG like Iron Mike would sell out to a circus event against a glorified YouTuber for something that'll end in a boring standoff... it's beyond sad.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
Eddie is one hypocritical cunt.
Eddie Hearn has described November's Jake Paul v Mike Tyson headline bout in Texas as "dangerous, irresponsible and disrespectful to boxing".
Hearn will attend the event at AT&T Stadium to support Katie Taylor in her rematch with Amanda Serrano, but claims he will leave before the main event.
"The reality is that 20 years ago when Mike Tyson retired from the sport he was shot, completely finished," the Matchroom boss told BBC Sport. "It was actually sad to watch then, 20 years ago."
"I'm in awe of him - he's one of my favourite ever fighters, one of the greatest of all time - but he's a 58-year-old man," Hearn added.
"You only need to speak to him and look at him to know this guy should not be in a ring again."
"If I was Jake Paul I'd just feel a little bit embarrassed to be honest with you. It's a liberty," Hearn said.
"This is dangerous, irresponsible and, in my opinion, disrespectful to the sport of boxing."
The pair were due to fight on 20 July but Tyson had an ulcer flare-up that forced the match with the YouTuber to be rescheduled.
"That was the moment they should have realised that this was actually a bad idea," Hearn added.
"Everybody loves a dollar bill, including me, but sometimes the green-eyed monster can make you some bad decisions - and I think this is one of them."

You were right Tic.
Highly-rated American prospect Bruce Carrington has reportedly been added to the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard.
The 13-0 featherweight will take on Australia's Dana Coolwell in an eight-rounder on November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, according to ESPN.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
It's a bloody joke.
Jake Paul is really not a very good fighter, but he is big, fit AND 26 YEARS OLD.
People are peddling a Tyson narrative that was no longer true in 2004, never mind 2024.
Yes, he was a ferocious force of nature (and does anybody think a 26 year old Mike Tyson would in any way struggle with Jake Paul), but he was pretty much shot by the time he fought Neilson in 2001. His desire, his technique, his stamina and his chin had already gone then.
He is a 58 year old man, for chrissake. He has spent the past two decades away from the ring, heavily smoking weed. He will gas out after about 4 minutes at pace. His chin will be glass by now ...... and is anyone forgetting that he collapsed with a perforated ulcer a while ago and lost nearly a stone in weight. He is not even a healthy 58 year old.
His only hope - beyond survival - is to go all out and ambush Paul at the start ...... oh, wait, 2 minute rounds and 14 ounce gloves ......
This is a ridiculous spectacle that is nothing at all to do with boxing, and it's downright dangerous.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
The craziest thing is hearing more than a couple wide reaching boxing "journalist" still blowing smoke up Jakes arse as a positive for opening doors to "new casual fans" and keeping a straight face when giving him credit for learning :-X. Rather than a glorified well-known influencer who's 15 minute gimmick needs respected boxing names (sadly in name only now) to keep his carnival grift afloat. This thing is the debut for another streaming site dipping its toe into boxing and instead of co featuring one of the hottest rising contenders, #1 #2 #2 ranked Shu Shu Carrington, his fight will not actually be aired on Netflix. But a second women's fight after Taylor-Serrano II will be. How many of those "new casual fans" brought in by Paul do you think will go hunt down the fighter with an actual future in the sport on some streaming site or youtube?

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
It won't happen - the contract won't allow it - but I'd love Tyson to ko him early and hear all the idiots then say he's back and he should get to fight the usyk fury winner.
All these saying how awesome he's looking when he shadow boxes fresh air for twenty seconds......

I haven’t seen the actual clip, but from what I’ve heard , Bellew has embarrassed himself for a few quid from Paddy Power.

The first Amanda Serrano v Katie Taylor fight was brilliant and closest I have seen Katie getting stopped.
Credit for Katie in taking the rematch but feel Amanda Serrano will win this in another classic.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
Good thing this is on Netflix. ;D
Looking forward to the Serrano-Taylor fight. The rest of the undercard looks decent as well. A bit of morbid curiosity regarding the main event... just hope Tyson doesn't get seriously hurt.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
Nunes is a YouTuber?? Damn... there's a lot of that going around nowadays.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
:bag: Caught Carrington on youtube in undercard opener. Looked very solid with the shutout over 8 vs Dana Coolwell scoring knockdowns in the 4th and 8th rounds. On a sidenote and not to be outdone by 58 year old Tyson...59 years old Oliver McCall makes his ring return next week ;D. Pretty sure Jakes ears just perked up ;D

Rematch is def watchable. As well as Barrios defense. By then hopefully the captains kicks in and I forget everything else on the card :-X. Crazy thing, Netflix hasn't buffered once so far. Compared to both Dazn and Espn+. Best case scenario is the Tyson-Paul charade ends in an injury ND or something. He may very well legit "I broke my back" this time.

Damn near knockdown in the first.

That Barrios right hand has found a home.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
Rosie Perez doesn't stand a chance calling fights next to Mauro :action: Ranallo. Wonder if this is the permanent announce crew going forward. It is weird how Tanks most ardent fans or detractors never mention Barrios as one of his best opponents. A now champ with multiple defenses. I mean considering the slim pickings for Tank.

Good answer by Ramos! Just made it a much more interesting fight.
-
Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
:o maybe that's why. Netflix crapped out and back now :p in round 8 ?
I'll be the old geezer, I absolutely hate the app only era of boxing

That was an exquisite last round. This has turned into quite the excellent fight!!
-
Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
Good 10th both taking turns. But whoever they are keeping the belt on Barrios warm for they need to hurry up and take it. He's not keeping it thru many more random wars like this
-
Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
Yeh that's a mess. Barrios looks like someone tied a pillowcase of feral cats over his head.

good fight. i've got uncle abel by two points

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
I take my hat off to Barrios and Ramos. Both won as far as I'm concerned. Classic fight.

Outstanding final round. Literal stand and deliver and blurry leather flying. Love to see a crowd on its feet for guys who were barely mentioned leading up. Good shit.

Missed a few gaps but called a draw, seems plausible.

Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
Frozen here round three of Taylor / Serrano.
-
Re: Jake Paul v Mike Tyson OFFICIAL November AT & T stadium 80,000 capacity!
Serrano heavy handed and leaving a game and quality fighter in Taylor struggling to keep her off her. Taylor needs to avoid being trapped in corners.
