What i cant stand tho is people on here who knock PBF's credentials, yet applaud Hattons. The truth is that Floyd has faced and beaten the better opposition. Others who say that he has never faced a tough challenge make me mad also. The fact is that in 2001-2002 there was no tougher challenge at 130 or 135 than Corrales, Chavez and Castillo. Fact also is that if Zab Judah hadnt been beaten by Baldo, Floyd would have been fighting the undisputed WW champ in 2006. Fact is that in 2007 there isnt a tougher challenge at 154 the DLH.
So far i have heard in this thread that Joel Julio is a bigger threat than DLH, so i disagreed with that.
I've heard that Judah, Corrales and Byrd have more impressive careers than PBF i disagreed with that.
I've heard that Floyd has never faced tough opposition, i disagreed with that.
I've heard that all PBF fights are boring, i disagreed with that.
Last but not least i read that Hatton will easily beat PBF and i disagreed with that.
Anyone got a problem with that?
I don't think anyone knocks Mayweather's "Achievements" it's more the fashion in which he achieves them, and if anyone says Judah, Byrd and Corrales have had better careers trhen you know they are talking complete bollocks. Real fight fans know there are some absolutely cracking Mayweather fights that leave your mouth wide open in amazement, and clearly it's not going to be easy for Hatton, it's his biggest test so far, and Mayweather is rightly the bookies favourite. But in my eyes I truly believe Hatton has the drive, determination and most importantly the tools to beat Mayweather.
One part I slightly disagree with is that in 2007 and at 154, Vernon Forrest, Corey Spinks and Kassim Ouma are bigger tests to Mayweather than Oscar De La Hoya.
You know I'm hardly an Oscar fan but you seriously rate all those guys above Oscar ???
What has Oscar done to be rated so low by so many people on here? ???
He's never been beat down in a fight unlike Cory and Forrest. He's achieved more in the game than all three of them and his last two fights were a demolition of two time Forrest conquerer Mayorga, who also went the distance with Spinks and a split decision loss to the worlds best fighter.
I'd fancy Oscar to beat all three of those guys, at the very least you can't just automatically assume he's below them all. ???

Well considering they were both better at Lightweight lets say Lightweight.
Duran is one of the best Lightweights of all time but his opposition wern't that great only wins that stand out are Esteban De Jesus who decked Duran in first and second fight and both times it was in the opening round who he went 2-1 in there trilogy and his win over Ken Buchanan but there was a bit of controvery there aswell with the low blow.
But still opposition or not he was still a great Lightweight.

i mean he did beat srl but then when srl boxed he lost
Thats just it. When Sugar Ray did his thing. He won. More than convincingly!
And yeah, in regards to Floyd v Duran, i was referring to Lightweights too.

Totally agree plus Oscar's only loss at 154 was a very highly disputed decision against Mosley in there rematch.
Re: Mayweather Hatton faceoff!!
Well i started thinking about it if it is at light weight that for me tilters in even more for me to Duran because i think he could break pbf down and i not sure about knocking pbf out but i can see Duran flooring him a couple times but pbf could still box and get a decision but i can see Duran getting one too and the rounds don't matter i think because pbf seems good enough to go 12 or 15 he trains alot but for me its Duran but i can see your points ice and i respect them at the same time but i just feel a bit different on who i think would win but thats just me i am not saying your wrong and i am right but i still go Duran and probably not much will change my mind i just envision Duran taking it thats all i can say about it

You wrote exactly what i was thinking. At the time PBF fought oscar, Spinks and Ouma were at 160 anyway. So even if they were a bigger threat than DLH(which they are not) they werent at 154.
Re: Mayweather Hatton faceoff!!
You know what.
All those names Dan mentioned WOULD be a serious threat to Dela Hoya (at this stage in his career)

Can I just ask katfight, what do you think Ricky Hatton brings to the table that Floyd hasn't encountered before? I just always hear you saying Ricky is gonna beat up on Floyd but never reason's why? (not having a pop, just want your reasons why) Also do you believe Ricky's resume is better than Floyd's? Floyd was a world champion within 2 years of turning pro and has been one ever since without losing. He has been fighting name's since the age of 21 years old. People always have a go at him for not unifying divisions but his goal clearly was to make history from the beginning. To become a multi-division champion was his goal and he achieved that. Who is anybody to argue that? If he unified every division from the beginning he'd be a lot older than 30 and he'd most probably have a loss for not being at his peak. Plus Ricky hasn't unified any division that he's been in. It's always Mayweather who gets the S*** from people because his bar is raised so so so much higher than everybody elses. Why? Because he is the best.
He's going to prove that again on December 8th and it will be one of his biggest victories because Ricky Hatton is actually fairly under rated by some people as well. What a match up.
Roll on December 8th..
Floyd hasnt beaten anyone decent above lightweight - there's your answer - Ricky is gonna knock the shit out of Floyd mark my words

Ouma and Spinks took TAYLOR 12 rounds (spinks won 7-5 IMO) and Forrest looked phenomenal against Baldomir in his last fight. I think all 3 of them would have a great chance against Mayweather compared to Oscar. Your just nitpicking at anything cos you know I'm right ;)

You back up your statement with nothing - pure hot air like Floyd. thinking an insult is a legitimate argument
Who has Floyd fought above lighweight?
Judah and Mitchell - both were knocked out by Tszyu in less than 3 rounds
Gatti was shot everyone knows it
De LaHoya is an old man promotor
Baldomir was a pondering lumberjack with no ring movement
Re: Mayweather Hatton faceoff!!
VD ???
What has happened to you?
Your like target practice for noobs now. :-\
I'm prety disapointed :(

What has Hatton done other than beat a shot tszyu and double shot Castillo?
His next biggest win is probably Collazo, who nearly beat him.
Please do not even start to say that Hatton has achieved more than Floyd cos he hasnt. Not yet.
