Re: Wacko's Round by Round of Roy Jones jr vs Tito Trinidad! Happy New Year bwoyo's!
Good performance by RJJ, but I mean seriously how much credit can you give him for beating Tito. I mean seriously.
Again as far as his performance and how he looked, yes he looked the part but again look at the opponent he had in fron of him.
Tito was in the fight for 1st few rounds being that he was fresh and all. But riddle me this for the 1st few rounds Tito caught RJJ with good shots both up stairs and to the body. To be honest I was surprised Tito caught RJJ period.
I really think both Joe and Hopkins would beat RJJ.
Gotta give a shit! load of props again to my boy! Alexander 'The Great' loving this kids style punches well, excellent accuracy in his punches.
A HUGE! round of applause :appl: to Golota & Mollo for the brilliant performance they put on that was refreshing to see 2 Heavyweights do it that way.
Boy! oh! Boy! Just when 'Made In Hell' was making his way to a title shot he get derrailed... Shit! happens...
All in all a really good card last night (which I just saw today in it's entirety)
:)
Re: Wacko's Round by Round of Roy Jones jr vs Tito Trinidad! Happy New Year bwoyo's!
Up until the 4th round I was like wtf Tito is gonna take this shit. Then that 4th round and roy kind of woke up, it was all Roy from there on IMO. Tito might have won 1 or 2 after the 3rd round. It was still a good fight and I was pleasantly suprised by Tito's performance, he looked like he could still hang in there, just maybe at middleweight if he could make it. Roy looked good, he was in his groove with all his antics in full effect. I just cant wait for the Calzaghe fight, they are both gonna be trying to one up each other with the showmanship.
Re: Wacko's Round by Round of Roy Jones jr vs Tito Trinidad! Happy New Year bwoyo's!
Well...I'm back up & running at the house again.
I hate the fact that I missed this fight & did'nt get to cover it. From what I read this one was actually a great card all the way around.
Jones was apparently back on point. I was told that Jones was calling out Calzaghe & said that the fight was in jeopardy of not being made now...is that true?

I was totally shocked that Karmazin got blown out...& honestly...the fact that Jones dropped Tito twice really got me too.
Re: Wacko's Round by Round of Roy Jones jr vs Tito Trinidad! Happy New Year bwoyo's!
Time to get us unstuck.
Alright...here's me thoughts...Jones looked good...but not as great as I was expecting from what everyone said.
Granted Jones is still a shadow of himself due to the constant fluctuation in weight (IWO) & also gunshy (most likely) he could have put Tito out of there alot earlier had he pressed the issue. I think it's a poor reflection of both men...especially considering the fact that Trinidad was pretty much an open & closed door on the win.
The main reason that I think that the loss says a lot about Tito is due to the fact that he's far superior than Jones' last two opponents...& they faired a lot better than Tito. Jones went toe to toe with Adjamu & Hanshaw in the aftermath of his 3 consecutive losses & those bouts went the distance, while Trinidad went 12 also...it was by the skin of his teef & the fact that Jones just would'nt press the issue.
I honestly can't believe that people are still supporting Tito when it is VERY clear that he should retire.
I honestly feel that Jones should also...especially considering the list of opponents that he's calling on.
That's a harsh spill right there...but I just feel that both men should live off of their vast riches & learn to let it slide. Jones is going to really end up gettin hurt...especially if either he & Joe face off...or he's silly enough to tangle with Pavlik.

I feel Tito should retire. He's got nothing left to prove. Besides, his inactivity hasn't done him any good. However, should he want to fight one more fight........
I hope it's Oscar at 160.
;D

RJJ and Oscar back to back....that'll boost his pension fund nicely.

Hello my friend! If Tito decides to continue fighting this is exactly what I would do, fight De La Hoya. He should do a preparatory fight in Puerto Rico, and then look for that shot. I believe that a well prepared Tito still has good boxing to offer, but he returned in a weight too high against an opponent too strong. But, I agree, I prefer that he retire, enjoy his money and family, and wait for HOF.

You got that right, PRP. He doesn't need to continue fighting. But if he wants that one more fight (and it's got to be soon), Tito-Oscar at 160 would do it for me.

I wholeheartedly disagree... Jones showed he has plenty left and all the physical tools to compete at a high level, he is still a fast, sharp accurate puncher with class leading handspeed and has recently flashed a more practical defense that is predicated on technical fundamentals and minimal reflexes that he relied on all those years. Jones confidence has been steadily on the rise and you can see him evolving an adapting as a fighter and filling in the gaps where his athletisism has digressed, which illustrates he was never shot physically but had to recover mentally. He would give either Calzaghe or Hopkins there toughest fights in a while, with more than a chance to prevail.

With all due respect when has Calzaghe or Hopkins ever been known to be murderous punchers able to dispatch an opponent with a single punch and seriously hurt an opponent? Calzaghe is like 37 and Hopkins is 43. Jones has a great shot against Hopkins who has an eneamic workrate with about 5 punches per round and 20 iniated clinches ::** If you aint seeing Jones evolve then you are choosing not to look, he is far better to root for than that garbage fighter Hopkins who snores and cheated his way the last 2 fights.

Hopkins in his younger days could spark out opponents with 1 punch, he has one of the quickest KO's in Middleweight history. Hopkins was like the Mike Tyson of the Middleweights at one point in his career, as for Calzaghe he used to be puncher as well when he fought Eubank he almost had 100 percent KO record, now Calzaghe can't crack an egg and as for Hopkins he can still hurt an opponent if he hit them flush but he is nowhere near what he used to be. I agree with you though JT, Jones Jr can still compete with Calzaghe and it wouldn't surprise me if he beat Calzaghe, Calzaghe has struggled with right hands throughout his career its one of his biggest weakness like against Reid he got hit so many times with the right hand flush, and its the best punch to use against southpaw. Jones has an excellent straight right hand which could cause Calzaghe a lot of problems, plus Calzaghe has never met anyone who is even close to Jones in speed department. It would be an interesting match up and nowhere near as one sided as people think.

You're totally missing the point. Tito was, whichever way you want to look at it,a small guy, fighting at a weight class he has never fought at and coming from a 2 year retirement. Regardless of how good Jones looked against him, fighting JC is a WHOLE different proposition. I don't see anything which would indicate that he would do well against JC based on that performance.
Joe may not be a murderous puncher but I think his record shows he doesn't need to be. RJJ in his fights with Badmu,Henshaw and Tito, was fighting guys who let him dictate the pace, fight 1 minute of every round and rest when he wanted. If you think he can do that v Joe,you're crazy. My point is,stop using this fight as some kind of sign that RJJ is now going to challenge all the other top guys. That's like saying Mayorga beat Vargas so now he can come back and beat everyone else at 147/54.
It has no basis. At the very least, Jones should fight a top top contender at 168-175 and if he looks good, then we can talk about it. Let him get hit flush by 168-175 natural power and see his reactions, then we''ll be able to gauge if he is ready.
And I agree that Jones is much more worthy of being cheered than B Hop,I despise Bernards' style but it doesn't mean I automatically think Jones can beat him, just because B Hop is boring. Just my opinion bro, although I do admire your noble defence of 1 of your faves. Heck, everyone loves RJ. :)
