The difference between Pascal and Hopkins in those two fights is that in both cases Hopkins was landing the cleaner, more effective punches.
The other MASSIVE difference is, Hopkins landed a million more punches on Pascal. No way those two fights even come close to being similar.
Hopkins landed 127/468 against Calzaghe.
Hopkins landed 171/445 against Pascal.
Clearly Hopkins had a much higher success rate against Pascal. It's also clear the majority think Hopkins was "robbed" whereas the majority feel Hopkins LOST to Calzaghe ;)

I wasn't saying that the two fights were similar in terms of the way they played out, only that I felt the same way regarding the decisions. In both cases I feel that Hopkins won close, but clear decisions. That's the only way I was comparing them.

That is a bit surprising. Where did you see the cards?

Re: Hopkins vs. Pascal Fight Thread
114-114 was odd, I mean 10-9 in a round with a knock down in itself is not right, surely that should be a 9-9 and a judge should never been scoring a round 10-10.
edit: is a 10 point score a must?
Re: Hopkins vs. Pascal Fight Thread
Seeing how Mosley performed on the juice and then off the juice. Seeing how Hopkins preformed against Jones, I can't believe he doesn't have something in his system at 45 after watching that fight. He had stamina as if he was 30. What is up with that? Someone going to say he was on a new nutrition plan? Or he had a new conditioning trainer to revive his body?
Re: Hopkins vs. Pascal Fight Thread
It's a 10-point must system. That is the master scorecard, not what the judges write on (check the identical handwriting). The judges scores are collected at the end of each round.
As I said in another thread - for all the moaning and groaning Van De Wiele did Hopkins a big favour by scoring round one 10-9.

Is it just me, or does it look like 1 person filled that out, handwriting looks very similar on all cards. Weird.

Not really, if you win a round and get a flash knockdown at the end, it's alright to score a 10-9. Fact.
Re: Hopkins vs. Pascal Fight Thread
Well if its not someone better call up Pascal and tell him he actually won.:p Go look up the rules I'm not doing it for you.
NM it would have still been a draw.

I never said it wasn't alright. Fact.
I haven't seen one single scorecard that has round one anything other than 10-8 for Pascal. And yet i've read tons about incompetent judges "robbing" Hopkins. If Van De Wiele had scored like all the internet "experts" Hopkins would have LOST on his card. Fact.

???
Says who? Based on what??
Happens alot. KD's fortunately do not mean mandatory 10-8 rounds, especially flash ones resulting in little to no damage in an otherwise even or uneventful round.
