Suicide Squad was ok for a DC movie. Will Smith was good as always and Harley Quinn was hot.
Have been trying to watch X Men Apocalypse for roughly 4 days now ;D. Things keep coming up. Btw highly annoying to have film studio intros and titles take up over first 5+ minutes of a movie, any movie. The new Mummy looks pretty damn good. Poor Brendan Fraser must feel like someone stole his girlfriend.
Watched Jack Reacher never go back and it was better than I thought it would be. I enjoyed it.
Jack helps a military colleague who is being framed. Also a side story is that he may have a daughter. His main enemy is a corrupt ex-soldier who is a nut and loves to kill.
Man that was bad. Apocalypse was a big fail for me. Was part Raiders of the Lost Ark last crusade and part Mtv The real world: Season 1.
The wife has me watching Orange is the New Black.....gotta say, I'm not a fan. You start off with your typical waspy gal who is kind of tippy toeing around being a "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" without being too too nuts about it, but then she just all out nose dives into a life of crime and absolutely idiotic decisions. The series is poorly written, ham handed (in your typical way: anti-God unless you're NOT Christian which typically doesn't bother me but HAM HANDED, can't stress that enough, all lesbians and gays and transgenders are amazingly wonderful good and virtuous, people from the South are dumb toothless meth addicts, and the Yankees are all street smart), and just typical of this era.....it's the laser like focus on the self featuring quirky neurosis from 'Girls' meets the OMG we're not in Kansas anymore shock and awe of 'Oz'.
Taylor Schilling is horrible or maybe it's the character she's playing....I'm not a fan.
As a man I'll just say.....there's a lot better things about women in prison out there to watch if you get my drift.
Last movie I saw was Ghost in the Shell. Loved Scarlet :) The film is great too. Made me wish to watch anime version, though I don't like anime.
For whatever reason ended up watching The Road again. That has to be one of the darkest movies I've seen. One where it ends and you just feel like going outside and smelling the air and rolling in the grass ;D:p.
A movie called Sleight. Was decent. About a young street magician left to care for his little sister after their parents die, and turns to illegal activities to keep a roof over their heads.
Jason Bourne was alright, but kind of repetitive following the same formula as the last films. The action scenes have become too much now and it is ending up like James Bond which I absolutely loathe with a passion almost beyond description. They are talking about making another, but I hope they don't. The first 3 were all excellent, but this one pushed the formula too far. In the second film he hurts, he slows down, but in this one he falls off buildings, can handle dumbells being thrown at his head, can crash into buildings at force at impossible angles. I mean I am sure they can't teach these at the 'Black Ops Invincible Academy'. I know, I know "It's only a movie", but I need my movies like this to be somewhat grounded. I want to believe in the character and that means he has to be human. The first one did that best, but the second and third really expanded the world very well. It's not a bad film by any means, but it's not as good as the original trilogy.
Most are whence I am very selective about what I watch. The Bourne films are usually very strong.
Also rewatched American Beauty which still holds up well. The character who films everything and thinks everything is beautiful was just pretentious and silly. The rest of it was really strong though. Blends pathos and humour very well. I really enjoyed Jane's responses to her weird parents. It's a good film. The only normal characters seem to be the gay couple.
I don't like james bond either
the old ones are alright, takes me back to my childhood, bit tongue in cheek, but the new ones are well shit
actually I wouldn't know about the new new ones because I stopped watching about 5 films ago
