It may have something to do with your Psoriatic Arthritis. As i am sure you are aware it is an autoimmune disease and so although the vacines do not contain any live virus the spike proteins they have introduced to your body to teach it how to fight Covid may have caused a flare up or overreaction. I have Psoriatic Arthritis too and Ankylosing Spondylitis and while they say the vaccines should not cause any more symptoms or flare ups in those with Auto Immune diseases my Dad (who only has AS not PA) was quite poorly for a couple days after having his vaccine.
I am still very happy that he got the vaccine and now no longer has now side effects though. One of my twin sisters who has AS, like most of us siblings, caught covid and ended up in hospital. She is out and recovered now but she is only in her late twenties. For my Dad it might have finished him off.
I have no idea when i will get offered one because neither myself or the Mrs are considered 'at risk'.
We could not get on the supermarket delivery list or anything light that for the last year and i actually had to go and plead with the doctor to waive her epilepsy review yesterday just so we can pick up a new supply of her medication. (the reviews are simply not happening until later in the year).
It has made it really hard for the NHS but they have over delivered with the amazing roll out of the vaccine.
That is what happens when you make profit and private enterprise take a back seat and prioritise saving people's lives.

Nature wants you dead at fifty and five of your nine children to die in infancy. The fact that this doesn't happen is down to medical science and people who are thousands of times smarter than you can comprehend with your little shelf. If I had a superpower I'd pick being able to show stupid people the gulf between them and smart people, the chasm between somebody who is an expert on a subject and the average person. You'd be so shocked you'd be shamed into silence for the length of time the information managed to stay on your shelf.
You have over a decade now of making endless breathtakingly moronic posts like this. Youhave proved beyond reasonable doubt that you have the cognitive ability and reasoning power of a fucking lettuce. For god's sake due to your unfortunate disability just do what the experts are telling you to do eh. Hard to believe but they know better than you how to keep you and other unfortunate people you come into contact with alive.
Why aren't there seatbelts & airbags on motorcycles then? Why can you still drive cars without shoulder belts & airbags without any penalty? Why can I ride in the bed of a pickup truck without any penalty?

You sound like you are morphing into Gandalf.
You not being seriously ill with Covid is not anything to do with how hard you tried, you horrible shallow bastard.
Do you not think those millions that have died did not fight to their last dying breath?
The great thing about seatbelts is it stops you injuring other people too. Those in front of you if you are in the back or others outside if you go through the windscreen. That is not so different with masks. NOT YOU. OTHER PEOPLE.
Why would someone have to explain that to you?
Do you think other people's liberty is not as important as your own?
You don't do you? You have already said as much

Police in dorms, outdoor exercise ban: UC Berkeley extends dorm lockdown with stricter mandates
https://www.sfgate.com/education/art...-ACXAWHTXWcy0E
"We are working with the city of Berkeley to determine whether outdoor exercise may be permitted, and we will provide more information on this in the near future," reads a memo from the university on the matter.
The policies that remain in effect for students include not leaving their rooms unless it is to obtain a COVID-19 test or medical care (including mental health care), use the bathroom or grab food from the dining halls.

It is not rocket science.
As a practicing Christian surely the health, safety and well being of others is more important than a minor inconvenience to you?
You putting them at risk would be an infringement of their liberties.
The whole world is not just about you. That is part of the reason you wear a mask and fasten your seatbelt.
You are far more wedded to your peculiar selfish brand of politics than to any concern for others it seems.
You think because you did not suffer badly from Covid that somehow that makes you proof that masks and the lockdown measures are unnecessary.
Because you were alright Jack.
Common sense and safety measures are not the same thing as infringing on your man made illusion of liberty.
Liberty is about as realistic as the false choice given to Adam and Eve.

Like Orwell I do not believe that Liberty is anything but an illusion. It is not something that Parliament protects at all in the UK but rather something that the British people are guardians over and even then it is not absolute. In times of war like this fight against Covid it is essential that many of them are curtailed.
Just like the false choice given to Adam and Eve. Gd punishes Adam and Eve for choosing to eat from the tree and yet it is not until they do so that they are gifted the knowledge of good and bad. How could they know that what they were doing was bad? What kind of Gd is this? It is a false choice.
Unlike the very twisted idea of Christians that all future generations are now inherently sinful for something they could not possibly be responsible for, Jews believe that every human being is responsible for their own moral character and destiny.
Defying your parents is good. Rebelling is how we learn. You should always question Gd, shake your fist at him etc.
It is also responsible for horrible ideas like the bell curve and women being devious and second class.

According to the people I talk to psoriatic arthritis, treated or not, should have no interaction with the vax but I doubt many studies have been conducted on it. I was talking to a buddy who’s wife works at Yale and she was down for 3-4 days after her second shot and she has no underlying condition. Sounds like it’s just your immune system going into action creating the antibodies. Actually numerous people did pose the question about psoriatic arthritis as they were concerned but they all good the same “should not cause any problems” answer. I guess I’d label it more as having a flu with out the congestion part. But some weird neurotically shit I guess I’d say it was like being drunk without the pleasant part of drunk ness. Could be just a reaction racist get I guess. Holy cow el kabong is more racist than me he’d probably get it real bad. They also don’t give you an anti body test see if you have had covid prior. I had the worst flu of my life last year when covid was in the news but allegedly not hear yet. So who knows. Feeling better now as each day passes I should be back to work tomorrow I have not used one sick day yet now I use three for this mess. Let me say this again because I don’t want people to be thinking negative shit. Most of my coworkers were fine after their shots.

Yes definitely a reaction to your latent racism, probably why my Dad had a bit of a wobble. Someone probably told him it was made by some Gentile schmucks out of bacon.
Did they even find the test result for your
'Worst flu of my life'
last year? ;D
Myself and the Mrs had the same thing after returning from a Covid hot spot, but i have no idea if it was Covid.
Probably not with the amount of latent racism i have running thru my veins i would have turned into Nigel Farrage and exploded into flames.

Why would it come as no surprise? I followed the rules, I wore the mask, I did the 6 ft distancing, I washed my hands thoroughly and used hand sanitizer. I. Did. It. All.....you can simultaneously FOLLOW THE RULES AND QUESTION THEM, those aren't mutually exclusive things.
Why would I have killed anyone else? I quarantined. My wife, our baby, and I all quarantined. Nobody broke it, not once. Not for an hour, not for a minute, not for a second, not for a nanosecond. We locked everything down and before getting back out into the world again, we cleaned the absolute hell out of all of the bedding, the surface areas, doorknobs, etc etc and then and only then did we end our quarantine.
So you were saying @Kirkland Laing ????

Do you understand the process it takes for a product to make it to a store shelf? Probably not. But yeah fair to say the American FDA and the UK's MHRA have given the product in question a thorough set of examinations and believe you me it is at a COST to the producer. No need to actually do a drug to use the scientific method to observe the effects or study them....pretty basic common sense about the concrete, again something which can be easily tested.
If the vaccine works why is government still demanding people wear masks and hell I wore the mask, I still caught the fucking COVID, I followed the rules, still caught it....so what do I risk by NOT wearing the mask? Already had the thing the mask was supposed to keep me from getting....oh that's right I need to double up on the mask and then triple up on them.

Covid has taken a great toll in my area were I live a friend just lost his uncle to covid I cremated him on Wednesday.
I was talking to some health professionals (Doctors) this virus is nasty if you have any underlying health issues it seems to attack those weakness it makes them much worse.
But those who don't it can be just as bad in or local hospital there are still well over a hundred people being treated.!
We have very contagious strain of the virus in our area stay safe it's not going away this virus just yet.!

Seems rather than discuss how this virus seems to impact certain blood types- To discuss if any certain group are more susceptible to become carriers (asymptomatic), we're seemingly forced to deflect.
As with all topics; let's talk media's coverage, let's claim my freedoms are being taken away if told to wear a mask. Crazy part is that this (process) of distributing the vaccine (wear masks) was actually signed by the outgoing president via Operation Warp Speed, yet I can't find any of his voters stating it, typing it.
https://youtu.be/EHy-GWITbxk
IMO that is the BIGGEST failure in America's senators, House Reps & both mainstream & right wing media treated the guidelines like a fad; they talked about the 15 day guideline, then proceeded to rolling back-regardless of what numbers (they themselves) wrote would be necessary in order to -roll back their guidelines.
I'm Sure you've seen one or both- just reposting how the outgoing Prez' claims of what was needed and revisit if these numbers actually occurred or to heck with their own plan, just blame somebody/group.

Users on social media are sharing a TikTok video showing people being implanted with a microchip, overlaid with text alleging that this will become part of all coronavirus vaccines.
The fact that President Trump, QAnon’s hero, claims credit for developing the vaccines hasn’t impeded the spread of rumors that they are unnecessary at best, and dangerous at worst.

So you were saying @

It's not wishful thinking, it's based on what you wrote.

And you've been told by me (repeatedly now) that I followed all the protocols laid out by folks like Dr. Fauci....and still you persist? Guess I should follow such rules blindly and without question, because that always works out for the best doesn't it?

Re: Covid- 19 - Second wave
So, in the UK, the government has altered the way it calculates who should be shielding, and that extra 1.8 million people will be pushed further up the queue for vaccination.
It is people from poorer socioeconomic areas, with some underlying health issues and with a high BMI ....
Who would have thought that this government would be prioritising fat chavs?

Re: Covid- 19 - Second wave
Amazing how nobody in this thread is mentioning what is happening with media darling NY Governor Andrew Cuomo right now....
Cuomo Vowed to ‘Destroy’ a Fellow Democrat Over Nursing Home Criticism
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/17/n...o-ron-kim.html
For months, Assemblyman Ron Kim has been one of the few Democratic lawmakers willing to criticize Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo for his handling of the state’s nursing homes during the pandemic, pressing for investigations into the matter.
So when a top aide to Mr. Cuomo recently admitted that his administration had withheld nursing home data from state lawmakers, Mr. Kim, whose Queens district was hit hard by the coronavirus, said it appeared the governor was “trying to dodge having any incriminating evidence.”
Hours after Mr. Kim made that comment to The New York Post last Thursday, he said he got an irate late-night call from the governor. Mr. Cuomo began with a question — “Are you an honorable man?” — and then proceeded to yell for 10 minutes, Mr. Kim recalled, threatening to publicly tarnish the assemblyman if he did not issue a new statement clarifying his remarks.
Mr. Cuomo made good on his threat on Wednesday afternoon.
In a remarkable retort, the governor used his press briefing to lob allegations of impropriety at the assemblyman, saying that he and his administration have had a “long and hostile relationship” with Mr. Kim, now in his fifth term.
In particular, Mr. Cuomo was angered and combative about a letter published by The New York Post that was signed by several Assembly members, including Mr. Kim. The letter, citing the governor’s delays in releasing a complete tally of deaths of nursing home residents, including those that happened after a resident was transferred to a hospital, accused Mr. Cuomo of attempting to circumvent a federal probe and “intentional obstruction of justice.”

Ha! If it actually freed up beds then who would care? but actually it is a bit more sensible than that. For the entire course of this Pandemic my Mrs who is so severely disabled that she literally has not been out unaccompanied for over 2 years now and cannot drive, is unable to walk without help for more than a few meters has not been considered disabled enough to be on the shielding list. It is crazy. So despite her being unable to shop etc without me, we could not get on the supermarket delivery lists or anything like that. Now there is at least acknowledgment that her stroke and subsequent brain damage makes her more vulnerable, and because i am her registered carer ( and my A/S and Arthritis both being immune disorders) i think we can both get the vaccine earlier that we hoped. Still have to wait but we are both in category 6 now.
Still not on the shielding list, but the clinical conditions list. I had to contact the GP the other day because her Epilepsy Meds review had not been done, and I could not order a new prescription for her online without it. Never mind the fact she needs it everyday and the GP had not contacted her Epilepsy Nurse etc. Sorted it in the end but it is quite illogical how many of these decisions are arrived at.
The Vaccine rollout is the one thing that this shambles of a Government have not given to some old chum from School and wasted Billions buggering up. So it does at least prove that the NHS can really do some things exceptionally well.

Re: Covid- 19 - Second wave
I’m hearing “UK variant” quite often here in the US is quite bad. I find saying “UK variant or “SA variant racist”
-
Re: Covid- 19 - Second wave
I hadn’t thought of that. You’re right, if it frees up beds then it shouldn’t matter.
Im astounded about how well the vaccination programme has gone, to be honest. Everyone I spoke to who has had one has said how well organised and efficient they are. They even seem to have the electronic invitation system right, which has been a bit of an NHS Achilles heel in the past.
I don’t know what all the categories are, but I would have thought your wife would be quite high up on the list? Plus you too if you are her registered career?
Hopefully higher than Rab C. Nesbitt and Johnny Vegas anyway.... ;D

Well, I’m not surprised. It was the US who labelled the 1918 pandemic as ‘Spanish flu’, even though it probably originated in the US.
The Spanish had a much freer media at the time, so it was the first country to actually report the outbreak.
The ‘UK’ or ‘British’ or ‘Kent’ variant was simply gene sequenced and identified in the UK first. I doubt even COVID could have spread so far and wide during international lockdown unless it was already present in lots of places already?
It’s odd, you guys are usually keen to take the credit for stuff, like capturing the German Enigma machine or showing the Samurai how to fight wars ......... ;)

Re: Covid- 19 - Second wave
I just know bits and pieces of beaners wife struggles. TBH if she was US based I’m pretty sure she could have gotten it by now. I just signed a couple people up with existing conditions and found I could have done do earlier. TBH though it can be unpleasant, I’m going on a week and a half and although much better still not 100%. I think you guys are using the Oxford one perhaps you will fare better. It’s seems most people really struggle 2nd dose. One of my coworkers went this AM for his second dose he was going to call me let me know how he made out I haven’t heard from him I’m going to guess he is laid up. Hospitals had a lot of problems with sick call outs after the second dose.

Following all the guidance doesn't mean that you won't get it, it just lessens your chances of getting it. The various parts of the guidance aren't interchangeable, they're complimentary. The combination of distancing, masks and what have you give you the best chance of avoiding it.
I heard from a doctor that it takes hardly any exposure at all to get the virus. You know how you can walk past somebody who is smoking and be some considerable distance away from them and still get a blast of smoke? Masks make a big difference too. My brothers, who have renovated lots of old buildings used to wear those N95 medical masks, which are far better quality than the masks almost everybody wears, when they worked in the loft of these buildings. The dust in them is like soot and you come out looking like a coal miner. They say when they blew their noses of coughed stuff up after wearing the N95 masks there was loads of black shit in it.
They started wearing half mask respirators and no more black shit. So if you want to wear the best mask one of the more unobtrusive respirators is the way to go. Sanitising appears to be a waste of time. This virus is spread by fuckers blasting out droplets and other fuckers breathing them in. Interestingly the respirator masks don't stop you blasting your droplets out but they do stop you breathing in almost every particle out there.

Re: Covid- 19 - Second wave
your eyes would absorb this imaginary virus if it existed in the air. encouraging people to wear material masks should be all you need to know about this bullshit

What is this obsession with strawman arguments across the forum?
Nobody suggested anywhere that you cannot absorb droplets thru the eyes. That is an argument nobody has made and you invented to knock down. That is why those in high risk situations who have to spend extended amounts of time with the infected e.g Doctors in hospitals etc, wear eye protection.
We are still waiting for you to provide any evidence whatsoever to prove your 'imaginary' hypothesis.
We are all ears.

Spain's media was free due to their being neutral/uninvolved in WW1

It was 21 years til Franco took power, Alfonso XIII was King in 1918 and the Prime Ministers were: Antonio Maura, Manuel Garcia Prieto, Alvaro de Figueroa.
Alfonso caught that flu which many believe also lead to the naming of that H1N1 strain.

Re: Covid- 19 - Second wave
Damn got a little pissed today. My state is still pretty much locked down, I can’t see clients except on “emergency” conditions. Restaurants closing, small shops out of business crazy restrictions on so many things and today I just found out our states transmission rate is 1.6%. I probably should have been looking it up but tbh I just kind of take in my surroundings and figured we are at 10%. I have poor sob’s in a group home can’t take a walk down the street. Think how that feels for someone with mental health issues. Now granted our state is pretty high on the list of vax per capata but our governor needs to let go of these emergency powers. He was on TV and actually said “there isn’t much reason to put more restrictions on restaurants people are scared to go out to eat anyway.” Good job king you scared the shit out of everyone. But they filled the coffers on capital gains taxes and housing price increasing as we border NY and everyone in NY is scared shitless looking to move to the suburbs. Fuck me man I feel like we been scammed. And I have respect for viruses. Ever since I took several trainings on Hep C it got me interested in viruses and they are nothing to sneeze at, especially that frickin flu I had last year that shit was no joke. So yeah I’m like in the medical field but I’m no doctor or nurse or anything but I have to take this shit seriously but damn 1.6% transmission rate and I gotta work like death is around every corner, camon man I got people walking the ledge here.
