Re: Heavyweight Fight Schedule
Wladimir Klitschko, who dominated the HW division for a decade but was never given fair credit by some, turns 40 today.
Wladimir Klitschko at 40: Recalling the Highs and Lows of His Boxing Career
Wlad looked like a shadow of his former self against Tyson Fury a few months ago. Age catches up with everybody sooner or later. It's inevitable.

Klitschko is totally done , a granny in a concrete overcoat could have more punch output then him , he is done and should walk away.
A top champion who is now a shadow of himself , retire and let the hw division morv on.

I don't agree m8, in my opinion Wladimir is not as done as you are making him out to be, he is still certainly the 2nd or 3rd best heavyweight around today, depending on how good luis ortizs proves to be, I think wlad would still beat wilder and joshua right now, infact I am not writing him off in the fury rematch, I do think the same thing will happen again though.
I do think Wladimir has certainly slipped a fair bit though(he is 40) and I think you just have to look at how he did v jennings to see it, Jennings is a similar size to haye and wladimir had an easier time taking care of haye than he did jennings. It looked to me like he is losing a bit of his hand speed and accuracy and just isnt quite as quick on his feet anymore as he was back in his prime. He's definently not a shadow of his former self though, if you ask me, and could still beat just about every top heavyweight.
I think you have to give mr fury more credit, obviously I am a huge klitschko fan and I think he is definently starting to show his age now(maybe even as early as the povetkin fight) but wlad is still one of the best around. and fury won fair and square( I also think peter fury deserve a huge amount of credit too, i think he got the tactics right on and was very smart).
of course I think wladimir from a few years ago would have managed to beat fury but i would say that !
