Saw it too. thought it was awesome! Woody was spectacular. So was Bill Murrays cameo. I have a thing for zombie movies though. It is kinda like Shawn of the Dead with the humor, just maybe not as dry. But overall I found it even better.
wanna see that one, but wife wont go cinema & watch it tho

Took my 4 yr old to see UP today, another good animation from pixar. The story had some pretty depressing scenes which would be lost on my little 'un but older kids might find it a bit sad, I know the missus did !!!

Watched District 9 yesterday, it was awesome, loved how it confounded your expectations at the start. It also addressed some interesting themes & it was great that it was set in South Africa rather than America or Britain, meant you get excellent actors who you really felt were their characters. A Hollywood studio probably would have got Brad Pitt to play the lead role & generally made it shit.
Best actionish film I've seen since Dark Knight.

Awsome flick. 10 times better than Shaun Of The Dead. Woody Harrelson and the kid were hillarious. Sort of King Pin reunion seeing Bill Murray there.

I thought that it was pretty good though and I loved the fact that it happened in S.A Johannesburg instead of L.A or N.Y. There is only 2-3 details that made me to frown a bit but I'll discuss it once most of the saddo viewers will have seen the movie as it would spoil some scenes. Still, beside these 2-3 "bad" scenes to say so, the rest of the movie is pretty good.

All in all it was very enjoyable, but they need to fix that Batman voice. It's just a deep mumble.
I can't take any of those movies seriously because of Bale's voice.

Die Hard at the Odeon Cinema in Manchester! They're doing Flashback to the 80's every Monday at 8pm, quality was a bit dodgey at times but was great to see John McClane on the big screen (4.0 doesn't count after that jet fighter scene...)
Waiting to see if they'll do Rocky 3 or 4?!

This film will remind me of my gorgeous ex girlfriend that i dated years ago.She put this film on as we cuddled up on her sofa in the living room of her house. That was the firsdt and last time i watched that film.I wont be in a rush on watching it again as it'll be quite painful to look back on them lovel days with her before she dumped me.There's a song from Mandonna during the film that when every time i hear it it brings me right to that time that i spent it with my then stunning girlfriend.Life it cruel:eek:

It's in the funny kind of semi-cartoon vision and that is kind of odd, but the story is pretty good and it has great talent in the film, Robert Downey Jr. and Richard Linklater(Dazed and Confused) directed it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2HP25bKztE
....I think that scene is funny as hell

Yes, I do love my old movies. The old movies are very cool, for the most part they have better plot lines, better actors, and better directors. It's one thing to see a print of a great painting it's quite another thing to see the original...you see the nuance, the subtleties, and those can add together to have a bigger effect on the viewer.
If you give me a list of what more recent movies you like I might be able to give you suggestions to older movies that you may like.

Yeah me mate of mine lent me Transformers2 last weekend and like you said its at least 30minutes too long.I ended up knocking it off near the end cos i just could'nt be arse, plus Megan Fox was'nt on long enough either for my liking:p.I watched the Public Enemies at the cinema with a lady friend not soo long ago and i thought it was okay, the sound of the Tommy Guns and the gun fighting scenes were great!
