Collazo should have atleast gotten a fwockin draw!
Watch it while sober then, would be my advice. Every single one of you are focusing too much on the last round because Hatton got hurt. Are you forgetting the other 11 rounds? A 2 point round for Hatton in the first.
How did Harold Lederman have it scored? 114-113 to Hatton, I believe. How did Sky have it? Both commentators for Hatton. All 3 judges for Hatton. Collazo is a Don King fighter. You really think they screwed a Don King fighter?
You guys expected too much and Hatton didn't deliver. That does not mean he didn't win though. What about when Floyd lost to Castillo, which he did? Should he have moved back down a weight? Fighters aren't entitled to bad nights?
Honest to God, I have never met a more fickle bunch of people in my life, utterly incapable of stepping back and taking a measured look at the fight.
Rather than considering that Hatton simply had a bad night against a very good southpaw on his first fight at welterweight, he's overrated, should move down a weight and should be out of the P4P list. Nice one, guys.
I guess I was wrong about the Hatton fans no longer bitching about the Castillo fight...
No one is bitching about the Castillo fight. I'm drawing a comparison. Should I not do that when it makes most of the people in this thread sound like hypocrites? My point is fighters are entitled to a bad night and even more so then they challenge a very good southpaw for a world title at a new weight.
It's just your typical knee jerk reaction from people eager to see Hatton taken down a peg.
SPOT ON ;)
Cheers, mate ;D
One good thing that's come out of this is that it's given me the urge to write again. Think I'll knock up an article for the site tomorrow.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Weight was biggest factor for Hatton,he didnt look good tonight
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Any fighter can win and be shown in the same fight.
What bothers me most is that these flaws I saw in the Magee fight are still there in the Collazo fight which isn't a good sign. I think it's too hard for him to change

Ummmmmm...said I would. I'm not focusing on anyting other than the fact that I think that Hatton looked bad against someone that I have never seen as a fighter before & I expected more from Hatton.
I also said that the knockdown would mean something.
Also...I think the other guy won the fight...& not because his name wasn't Hatton.

If you always go by Lederman...then you need to rethink things Clydey.

Hatton didn't seem to have the snap on his punches that he usually had...& I also said that Floyd doesn't seem to effective at 147 either...now didn't I?
Sure I expected a lot of him...I mean he has been calling out all the big names & Floyd being one...sure I'm gonna expect alot...also I expect alot when he promises a lot...Just like I did from Floyd.

Then you haven't met enough people.
I was takin a measured look at the fight...& from the looks of it...he was losing that fight...Collazo landed a lot more on Hatton than I would have thought him capable of...especially with the people that he has fought.

Yes we are a fickle bunch...that I might add...you are & have been a fickle part of yourself.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Hatton was winded from the body shots and the missing ;)

One thing being overlooked is how good Collazo is. He is a classy, accurate, awkward southpaw. That combined with Hatton's quite blatant stamina problem from the move up was a major headache for him.
Hatton couldn't get the body punches going either, which had a lot to do with the style. As far as Hatton's flaws, he is a better boxer than people realise. The Tszyu fight supports that. Perhaps not in a conventional sense, but he has a good boxing brain. Tonight's fight just didn't advertise it all that well.

Hatton didn't have an off night. Collazo had an on night and exposed Hattons flaws I been telling ya'll Hatton fans about for years ::**

Collazo vs. Margarito anyone?
That 12th round should tell you enough about what Judah would have done to Hatton.
Agreed.
That was the first time Hatton has been out lasted by his opponent... and it's no coincidence that he was at welterweight when it first happened.
And just so everyone knows, I'm not having a go at Hatton (I was pretty much neutral, maybe slightly leaning towards Ricky)... I scored the fight 115 - 112 for Collazo and that is including the knockdown in the first. He was beaten, there is no other way around it. Aggression means nothing if you don't throw and land. From around the half way point, Hatton was just walking forward and throwing very little, walking straight into shots from Collazo. He was terrified of the right hook.

;D
I backed up tape & watched the last two or three rounds.
I don't know...I just can't see it as a win...a draw...but that kid was damned effective & not just in the last rounds...& yes I did watch the entire fight...as clydey was eager to point out...you shouldn't focus on the last 2-3 rounds...Collazo won more than the last round or two.
Thanks for pointing that out...I almost forgot. ::**
A win is a win...but that wasn't the fight I was expecting...but oh well...on with the show.

Agreed...& IWO...that was a pretty good assestment...it almost seemed that when the KO didn't come...Hatton was a bit...bewildered.
I don't know...that was just a bit too iffy for me.
But hey...I'm a Cotto fan...& I still love Cotto after he tasted canvas twice...so I can see what Hatton fans see in their man.
Nothing wrong with that...but there's nothing wrong with me being skeptical either.
