Yeah me mate of mine lent me Transformers2 last weekend and like you said its at least 30minutes too long.I ended up knocking it off near the end cos i just could'nt be arse, plus Megan Fox was on long enough either for my liking:p.I watched the Public Enemies at the cinema with a lady friend not soo long ago and i thought it was okay, the sound of the Tommy Guns and the gun fighting scenes were great!
i still aint finished watching it but the sound of the guns are amazing, bet it was great in the cinema, they must of litterally used the proper sound of the shots as opposed to other films that sound abt fifty times louder

Yes, I do love my old movies. The old movies are very cool, for the most part they have better plot lines, better actors, and better directors. It's one thing to see a print of a great painting it's quite another thing to see the original...you see the nuance, the subtleties, and those can add together to have a bigger effect on the viewer.
If you give me a list of what more recent movies you like I might be able to give you suggestions to older movies that you may like.
recent films i love are usual suspects, shawshank redemption, goodfellas & rocky films

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
Oh trust me it's a great movie Hitchcock was a genius, he was strange but he was a genius!
If you like Shawshank Redemption try these out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkwmIDx9RwQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFMmJMNRv-Q
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DARD1l-tr6g
Since you like Goodfellas try these:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCfflhAHbT0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X41Ylp02NRs
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP_7ZopT6oM
And since you like Rocky you have to try these out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QeiG7-0lQX0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSImMMMf5nA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOvFekqOml0
James Earl Jones in 'The Great White Hope' is just outstanding...he's basically Jack Johnson but they didn't use that name, I don't know why.

I couldn't find anything as gritty and as graphically violent as Goodfellas but those movies I mentioned are good 'buddy movies' that involve crime. They are still good movies though, just a bit of a stretch to compare them to Goodfellas.
Enjoy

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I watched "The Hangover" friday I thought it was hilarious it was funny because it was my boys bachelor party weekend this past weekend and we quoted lines from that film all weekend. I'll probably buy that one when it comes out.
I watched Transformers 2 today like everyone else mentioned its really long and didn't need to be. thought some of the fights scenes were crazy good though.

...true, but I was trying to help Drago find some older movies.
Scarface (the Al Pacino one) is actually a remake of 1932's Scarface starring Paul Muni and was a quality on it's own

Old ones, right:( just thought those 3 were comparable to Goodfellas
Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid is brilliant;D good choice
Love the part where the guy accuses Redford of cheating, then takes it back when he hears hes the Sundance kid
"Hey kid? Kid? How fast are ya?"
Bang, Bang, Bang Bang:shotgun5lu8:
-
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
I liked the part where Butch and Sundance have to jump in the river
"What's the matter?"
"I can't swim"
"Swim? Hell the fall alone will kill you"
-
re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)

Jaws, always a favorite in my house. The quality definitely declines as the series goes on but the first one is a great watch!

....when I was a kid, that was the first really scary movie I watched. I didn't want anything to do with the water after watching that, just thinking of the theme song (such a catchy tune too) anywhere, in the ocean, a lake, river, swimming pool, bathtub, it made me very nervous.

re: last movie you watched (Flag Up SPOILERS)
...what made Jaws worse for me just recently was the "documentary" Anatomy of a Shark Bite.....that wasn't a documentary, it was a fucking blood bath!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ-2u35cx9E
I'm sorry, if I lost MY leg to some fucking shark, I would spend the rest of my life hunting them to extinction!!!

They took me to see Jaws 3D-3, like Lyle & Yvonne I never wanted to go near water.
We had a pool & used to go swimming at night, you couldn't see sh*t & I was always thinking Jaws was going to get me...:vd: like they came into a pool in an old James Bod film-can't remember which one
