As long as Steward stays working with him I can see him improving over the next couple of fights. He has already been in with the two best at 160, so there is no where to go for him but up.
fine, JC or rematch? which makes more money? that will decide it. not sure JC has the $$$ draw yet.

Manny made no difference IWO.
Taylor was still unable to regain composure once Wright took over.
Personally...I think that until "Stuttering Stanley" get's his hands up & his confidence on the same page...he's gonna fall prey to the same questions against boxers with a plan.

I'd love to see Taylor vs Calzaghe.
No draws, no weak ass decisions, or any bullshit.
Calzaghe would outbox & own Taylor...not because of what he did to Lacy either...Calzaghe is miles above Taylor's skill level...or lack of.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Taylor vs Wright.
hahahaha right im off to bed... still think taylor nipped it ;D ;D ;D
Night guys ;)
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Taylor vs Wright.
Honestly, after seeing tonights fight, I reckon Felix Sturm has got the style to really cause Taylor some serious problems (that is taking into account that Winky seems to be declining a rematch). Hope they make a match between Taylor and Sturm, would be real interesting to see who comes out on top in the battle of the jabs.
Night Saddo. ;)

I'd love to see Taylor vs Sturm...but it'd be just as hard for me to call a winner as Hopkins & Wright...but it seems no matter what he does...HBO aint gonna let this kid lose. He's a marketing dream.
Both Taylor & Sturm have a win each over each other...so it would be nice to see it come about.

as much as i HAT calzaghe, and as horrible as i think his ability to be tactical is, i agree, calzaghe would DOMINATE taylor
taylor leaves his hands low....
BUT HE ISNT A FUCKING CONTER PUNCHER!!!
i dont understand why someone who isnt a counter puncher would leave thier hands low which is primarily effectuive when you want to drawe punches so you can counter them

Agreed.
Stylewise, Sturm is like an orthodox Winky only more mobile... a fight with Taylor would be one for the purists.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Taylor vs Wright.
Ok...just got back. I had the fight 115-113 Winky. Did any judges give Taylor the 12th? As soon as the decision was read I said I bet you Winky lost that 12th round. If he did then that is bullshit. Winky might not have fought the last 30 seconds but he won that round. No way he lost that round and if that was the deciding round...bullshit.
However, Winky could have made things so much easier on himself. In those rounds he lost, he was throwing the jab flatfooted and lunging with the straight left instead of walking Taylor down. When he walked Taylor down with the jab, oh my god it was a thing of beauty. When he got Taylor into the corner after walking him down with that jab, he had his way with Taylor. Taylor flurried out of the corner a couple times but I don't think that anything ever landed solidly. Winky's defense was amazing yet again and he added something for Taylor. He had the caged defense but in the early rounds he was putting his head down a lot and that was negating Taylor's jab and the straightening of Taylor's punches. And Taylor had no uppercut! It was amazing, it was a marvel really. He got landed on in the later rounds through the uprights a bit but that was past the point where Taylor's jab was a nonfactor. Beautiful. But I just wish he would have kept walking Taylor down with the jab because I was pulling my hair out. And where was Taylor's jab? Whatever.
Not to sound conceited, but I felt like Nostradomous, that fight went punch for puunch how I expected it to, it was amazing. Right down to the bullshit decision. I'll talk more about it later. :coolclick: Wacko though I wouldn't be to critical on Taylor. He did win the 10th or 11th round (can't remember) but he needed to keep that jab going and he didn't.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Taylor vs Wright.
i called it a draw before the fight and i was joking. owell, who next? JC vs ???
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Taylor vs Wright.
I had Winky winning the fight, it was a great fight and I think they'll fight again in a few month's regardless of what Winky said in the heat of the moment. I had Hopkins winning the first Taylor fight and the second one a draw at best, and then Hopkins moved up and then retired I considered this fight for the vacant Middleweight Title. I guess I'll have to wait for the rematch for a real champion. I say that because both these guys are better then the other two so called middle champs. A great fight though but winky should have kept on fighting like he did the first 11 rounds. Knowing the crowd was behind Taylor and everything he threw the crowd roared whether they landed or not he should have known the judges would be swayed by that to some extent even though their supposed to be professionals.
Middleweight Championship Still Vacant Until The Rematch
