To be fair Twitter is a gauge to how popular certain fighters are.
For instance - Tyson Fury has 347,000 followers, David Haye has 1.09 million.

Anyone else hearing it could be Lucas Browne next for Haye ? ;-)
If he's the one that now has a version of the title then yes I've heard that
Thats great then. Hes the heavyweight twitter champion of the world;D
He also doesnt have a pot to piss in:cool:
Meanwhile unpopular Tyson Fury has been in the biggest and going to be in the second consecutive biggest heavyweight world title fight the world has seen for years and is the best heavyweight on the planet;D
Scraping the barrel there fenster, fuck sakes! Quoting twitter followers as some sort of barrometer of a boxers worth;D
Some silly petty arguments in here today:rolleyes:
@ross we all have favourite fighters dude, and I know its hard not to ne bias, we just have to be realistic about their standing in the boxing world and I think you struggle a bit with where fury is sometimes
I'm just lucky that my favourite ever Heavyweight was not only the most popular fighter in history he was also the best lb4lb fighter in history
Eric read back what you just posted.
You think I struggle with Furys standing in world boxing?
My understanding and the fact of the matter is that he is the best heavyweight in the world and considered the lineal champ as Wlad was.
So what am I not getting here Eric?
I think you will find its a few others who struggle to understand his standing. So much so they cant use actual boxing to discredit him because hes unquestionably the best in the heavies. He went to Germany and beat an all time top ten great. They have to ise twitter fans!!;D fucking pathetic!
yeah I don't think anyone is disputing he is currently the best, I think he's proved he is the best, I just don't think he is the best with a cherry on the top :)
and I think you struggle with Bruno's standing in world boxing, if he fought today, not only would he be world heavyweight champ, he would be a multiple times miles bigger draw than fury and Haye put together
Have you seen Bruno has just been given a ranking.....
I'm going a tad off topic here but
Just wondering Ross, do you see any flaws in Tyson Fury at all? I mean I have never heard you say that he has anything at all that he could at least work on, surely you must think that there is one tiny little thing that he could improve slightly on, lets just call it constructive criticism.
Not having a pop just genuinely wondering, I've got fighters who I think are great but I can still point out areas that could do with some work.
Of course he has flaws.
What he does well though is too much for everyone else. I agree he hasnt got an Oliver McCall chin but hes very hard to hit when hes focussed. By rights acording to the experts on this forum Wlad was unbeatable and should have wiped Tyson out inside a few rounds. The first shot he landed it would be over. What they didnt count on was Tyson sticking to a plan and putting all his attributes to very good use. What use is power if you cant land or even set yourself up to throw? The thing is though like I pointed out many times the similarities between Clay v Liston and Fury v Klitschko was Clay was seen as weak and easy to hurt. He went in there with the most intimidating and powerfull fighter in the world, took shots off him but run rings round him and even pressured him. Tyson did exactly the same as I said he would. What good is trying to be intimidating when you are facing one of the most mentally strong fighters in the world that can turn you on your head and intimidate you in your own hometown on your own show?
Every fighter has flaws, even Mayweather but what he does well is too much for everyone else.
@ross
Your far too carried away here with Fury.... "Best Heavyweight on the Planet" ;D
You can ONLY be basing this "Post Wlad" because Fury had fought no one of note at all before that and Wlad didn't throw any punches and simply didn't fight.
To say he's the best on the planet is simply Bullshit bearing in mind you've got BIG punchers in Wilder, Joshua, Haye and you could even say Whyte out there who he has yet to get in the ring with.
Lets wait and see what happens in a Wlad rematch first before we start spunking all over our Tyson Fury boxer shorts shall we ;)
If Wlad comes to fight and seriously puts it on him then you may well have a point but until he's faced the rest of the young guns in the division and beaten them soundly and done a "Live" Wlad then shut the fuck up.
For fuck sakes!
Before the fight you all said Wlad was this that and the other would still smash the whole division and now Tyson has proved himself you dont like it and feel he hasto somehow prove it wasnt a fluke. Lets get it right, nothing that happened that night was a fluke. Tyson had everything against him. Fighting on a K2 show, in Germany, soft canvas, shit gloves, Wlads got everything in his favour yet Tysons skill won him almost every if not every round and won by unanimus decision on the cards and its a fluke!;D
You lot are unbelievable!
To be the best you have to beat the best.
Wilder is still looking shit against johrneymen. Joshua looks like the second coming of Bruno and Ortiz is an old Cuban whos been done for steroids and being cuban it wont be ling before he lets himself down again. Cuban heavies dont know when to stop eating!
Before Tyson beat Wlad im sure had you been asked how Joshua and Wilder would have done against him the answer would be much different to what your trying to say now. Tyson proving what he can do on the big stage doesnt suddenly make them better by association!;D:rolleyes:
