I will have to half way agree with Starr that Hopkins put a hurtin on Taylor. He took Taylor deep & he broke him down...Taylor just couldn't take it. Watch the fight again...it was a beatdown & Taylor took it to heart.
When you look at Taylor’s career…he was beautiful against all the men on the move up & the previously pressed & worn out and seasoned veterans.
After losing Burns I think that it might have ruined him. Burns was his strong hold. He was the glue that kept him together.
Amat & I were discussing the fact that leaving Steward would ruin him...I think that leaving Burns already did.
Taylor has NO killer instinct when pitted against someone that doesn't fear him or learn fear through a few rounds in the ring. Watch Taylor close & you may or may not understand what I mean. Anywho, he has no drive when it comes to taking a man into deep waters and if his opponent stands up to him...IWO...the dawg becomes Stuttering Stanley once again.
:coolclick: I feel ya there babe...but the Miranda loss was a bittersweet victory for Wacko. Hard to explain...but I didn't like Miranda's mouth or attitude...but...I knew or hoped someone would adjust it for him...really wanted it to be Abraham...because no matter what Miranda said...Abraham beat him.Quote:

A firefight against Pavlik that ended with Taylor TKOing him would rejuvinate his career & all that he would have to say was that "You see Larry...I just...I just couldn't get up against them smaller guys...but I respect Pavlik for fighting me. He uh strong man, Larry."
And our New Middleweight Champ would finally have reared his head.
Then again Pavlik could crack his ass the fwock out & then we'd really have OUR Middleweight Champoin.
Props to Miranda and Pavlik for a great battle and even more props to Pavlik for the upset he has done well wish him the best as for Spinks vs Taylor well Taylor didn't impress at all i mean how many close decisions is this guy going to get his luck will run out soon enough i gave him break vs Hopkins and Winky because there p4p greats but i won't give him a break vs Spinks alot of people had this is as an easy fight and yet again in true Taylor fashion he is in a dull fight and very close controversial fight he maybe nice guy outside ring but im sick of these close controversial decisions i mean really and truthfully if there would of been different judges or in a different place Taylor could very well be 0-4 i like Taylor as person but as boxer he just doesn't cut it and that undefeated record will soon go.
Oh yea almost forgot :coolclick: for rbr Wack.
Last night was all about Miranda v Pavlik for my money, as that was a superb blood n guts fight, where each fighter gave their all and neither one was going to take a backward step. As Pavlik took more and more control of the fight, a little voice in my head was telling me that Miranda was letting him tire himself out, but Pavlik has proved that he can back up the hype, and as I previously mentioned....I had to chop up my Minesota Vikings hat and mix it in with my sultana bran for breakfast this morning, as I thought Pavlik would have more trouble with a higher class of opponent.
As for Taylor v Spinks, what a snoozer. Especially as it was nearing 5am and it was all getting light outside, I can't remember any great excitement, but Taylor getting a lucky SD might set him up for a superfight with a top british fighter, just like Castillo against Ngoudjo. Hopefully though, I think that the styles of Castillo and Hatton gel well, and that the style of Calzaghe coming forward would be much better for Taylor, and might force him to up his game, or quit. Either way, get it done.

My total respect to both of these fighters, who more than earned their money, and a fight that more than lived up to expectations. May we have many more "Miranda-Pavlik"s down the road.
Anyone notice the total lack of power in some of Pantera's punches? Was that to do with the weight,as he had to weigh in like 2 or 3 times and that he couldnt get power into them going backwards? They are also long, looping,I don't think he knew how to shorten them!
Clicked back my man. Excellent RBR too. I agree, JT fighting and beating Kelly would garner alot of respect but I don't think JT would want to fight him. Pavlik doesn't bring enough $$$ which is what I meant with low rewrd. Of course hardcores like us would be lavishing praise on him if he won a war against Kelly but I just don't see it. I think he needs to fight JC or Kelly next.Quote:

Yup,if only the world awaited more fights like this and Rafa-Isreal,JMM-MAB....JLC Rh,Margarito PW,Zab Cotto, and tonnes more to come.2007 has been sensational imo. Already more good fights than least year combined and not even half way through yet!Quote:

There again...Kelly ripped him hard the minute they came out & it's highly likely that Miranda just couldn't recover from it.
I agree with you now...Taylor's excuse for dodging Pavlik will be Calzaghe's money...so we will probably see Calzaghe vs Pavlik if the shot can be made...fingers crossed we'll be seeing Pavlik vs Wright...poor Pavlik is all I can say. IWO, if that fight came off...Pavlik would respect Wright waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much & Wright would just pick him off.Quote:

As far as Kessler vs Calzaghe...I just go back & forth on it. Kess def has the power & abilities to stop Joe...but Joe will most likely get up for a fight of that magnitude & throw so many shots that Kessler's jab won't find a home.
The thing is...I'm a huge fan of pretty much everyone discussed as future Calzaghe opponents...but I'm a fan of boxing first...so whoever wins...good enough for me.
You know...no matter how long you stay away...you always post with class material. Totally agree here. :coolclick:Quote:

My fucking converter box went out yesterday, could get basic cable but no HBO. Sucked.
How did the Pavlik fight go? Did he back Miranda up, or let Miranda come to him? I was thinking that if he could back Miranda up that would be a way to go cause a guy like Miranda usually doesn't fight well moving back.
But I'm not gonna act like I thought Pavlik would win, I thought he had a chance cause I always have said that Miranda's been a bit overrated, but then again I wasn't that high on Pavlik after his last fight.
Anyway, what's happened to Jermain Taylor? I mean this was a tougher style matchup than Ouma, who had the perfect style for Taylor, even that fight he looked like shit. Still after watching the Karmazin fight, especially the later parts I didn't think Spinks had that much of a chance, and definitely didn't think he'd get a close decision.
It's not that Miranda is over rated, It's just Pavlik is that good!
BINGO!Quote:

But good for Pavlik, I clearly underrated him coming into this.
