Wasn't his off night Magee, and Vilches ??? This was a situation of Hattons flaws getting exposed again :)
Magee wasn't an off night, Eamonn is a seriously under rated fighter.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Yeah Starr, if you actually watch the Magee and Vilches fights, you'll be able to clearly ditinguish between an off night and a hard nights work.
But i know you already know that ;)

Collazo should have atleast gotten a fwockin draw!
Watch it while sober then, would be my advice. Every single one of you are focusing too much on the last round because Hatton got hurt. Are you forgetting the other 11 rounds? A 2 point round for Hatton in the first.
How did Harold Lederman have it scored? 114-113 to Hatton, I believe. How did Sky have it? Both commentators for Hatton. All 3 judges for Hatton. Collazo is a Don King fighter. You really think they screwed a Don King fighter?
You guys expected too much and Hatton didn't deliver. That does not mean he didn't win though. What about when Floyd lost to Castillo, which he did? Should he have moved back down a weight? Fighters aren't entitled to bad nights?
Honest to God, I have never met a more fickle bunch of people in my life, utterly incapable of stepping back and taking a measured look at the fight.
Rather than considering that Hatton simply had a bad night against a very good southpaw on his first fight at welterweight, he's overrated, should move down a weight and should be out of the P4P list. Nice one, guys.
I guess I was wrong about the Hatton fans no longer bitching about the Castillo fight...
No one is bitching about the Castillo fight. I'm drawing a comparison. Should I not do that when it makes most of the people in this thread sound like hypocrites? My point is fighters are entitled to a bad night and even more so then they challenge a very good southpaw for a world title at a new weight.
It's just your typical knee jerk reaction from people eager to see Hatton taken down a peg.

Two exellent posts Clydey perfectly summing up the idiot "fans" and the fight.

Hatton knows exactly what he's dealing with now and I'd fancy him to end any debate in a rematch.
Totally disagree.
Sorry...I just have to. No one let's anyone forget a close fight...hence Mayweather Castillo or even Judah winning 4-5 rounds...but IWO...that's bullshat.
The thing is...Collazo was doing a lot more than just winning a few rounds...he shook Hatton right back...he went toe to toe with Hatton & I honestly think that he did a hell of a lot better than anyone that has fought him...Kostya included.
A rematch? Collazo deserves one...but I aint sure who I'd go with. How many boxers has Hatton faced? Technical boxer? The reason I ask...I just can't say due to the fact that I haven't followed him throughout his entire career...but I think that the boxer he fought last night gave him a hell of a lot of technical difficulties.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Wack,Hatton was fighting someone he knew would cause him problems. In the amateurs he lost to a tall rangy southpaw too so it was the wrong style, the only probelme for me was Collazo actaully shaking him a few times. I do not think this is the end for Hatton@147 simply because there is no one else like Collazo,he obviously needs time to grow into the division.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Agreed (Wacko) but only because he was a southpaw with a v good defence ;)
Ricky does not need to agree to a rematch because he beat him (Yeah he scraped through and the 8/10 first round helped him to do so) fair and square.
He's now got bigger fish to "Try" and fry.
All in all if im honest.... if Ricky does'nt start to train himself up to move his head way more and move side to side and get round these straight punches to utilise his own weapons,PBF will toy with him with ease 8)
Ricky really is'nt a very boxer at all and got seriously exposed power wise last night.
Roughly the same fights as Mr Calzaghe and compare the faces of both fighters ;)

Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
i'L tell you the most surprising thing for me, I could not believe Collazo hurt Hatton that much. 7 pounds making that much difference was a real big surprise to me!! Oscar trying to fight B Hop was heroic!!! In all honesty,I don't think we are going to see a Collazo rematch though but in all honesty, there should be one, just to answer the questions.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
No need for a rematch Collazo had his chance and lost ;D
not the greatest showing and Ricky has said afterwards it was the hardest fight he has ever had...
bad day at the office... Mayweather has had one Cotto has had one.
sooooo bring on the big fights i think they will all be looking to fight ricky after last night so its all good for the fans ;)
