Tell you what... if Haye can get the Lucas Browne fight done the UK could have 3 title holders soon.
Its definitely getting interesting again.
Haye is talking as much shit as Briggs.
Everyone knew that Browne would be tied in to an imediate mandatory to Oquendo. This was announced months ago!
Haye wants journeymen until he gets a shot. Its no different to his first reign.

Both fights took place in 50,000 seat stadiums, as have lots of Wlad fights over the years.
There were reports that Haye-Wlad did a million Sky PPV buys, Fury-Wlad did 400k (less than AJ-Whyte). Haye-Wlad got the highest ever audience on German TV for boxing (16 million). Both fights got over a million viewers in America on HBO.
No, the Dusseldorf arena is 55,000 and was sold out.
Haye-Wlad sold out 60,000. So you've fucked yourself again focusing on the most trivial point.
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
Lets go champ!!
I was watching some of the IFL vids. I think the old funker is funny but unfortunately an actual fight with any top fighter these days would be a joke.

What is up with you lately? Acting like a little argumentative bitch. Have you left a tampon in and got toxic shock syndrome?
Iv only ever seen the figure of 50000.The only hing Haye did more in that fight was points deducted for going down.
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
so the stadiums were there or there abouts the same size, 5 thousand either way
when you said there was a bigger audience at the fury klit fight did you mean sat in the stadium?
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
There's nothing up with me. If I choose to correct nonsense I do, most of the time I ignore it. Simple as.
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
Jesus wept. At least Manny was an exciting fighter.

The guys a clown. It’s not a testimony on quality because the guy can still sell tickets. Its a testimony on fan stupidity. Donald Trump does the same shit. It takes a special kind of slowness to buy it. David Haye is the Andre Ward of British boxing. I'm with Lucas Browne on this guy. To paraphrase him, do something to get into Que. One would think Haye of all people would want to. Shannon Briggs deserves at shot before this circus.

Chagaev v Wladimir sold out with 61,000, so clearly chagaev is the bigger draw here :S(eddie chambers was also very close to selling out the dusseldorf stadium and it might have actually been a sell out, i forget now.)
Anyway I am pretty interested to see how haye does in his comeback, he seems as popular as ever but is struggling with the tv deals and so on, hopefully this makes him push on a bit and fight more regulary and against better competition but I am not holding my breath on that one... He looked like he still has the power and hand speed but he seemed to be noticeably slower on his feet so in my opinion he is really going to have to work on that otherwise the tip top big guys will have little trouble with him .

It was sold out, I was there, allegedly there were 500m tv viewers obviously mixed ppv and others. So marginally better for the Haye fight in terms of bums on seats, and very uncomfortable they were, and very disconcerting the Klit hype was. Which is why Tyson should walk away and start a Uk title dynasty for the next few years, fuck the Klits.

Contradiction
What you mean is the only people willing to shell out are the idiots who have been ripped off paying for travel and accomodation on all those cancelled fights he pulled out of. The money men who need to make a proffit are holding back.

EXCLUSIVE David Haye next fight aiming for free TV - | Boxing News - boxing news, results, rankings, schedules since 1909
“The last fight, it [free TV] worked well, whether it works for the next three or four fights, who knows, but I’m going to do everything within my power to get it [his next fight] on a Freeview channel,” Haye insisted from his gym in Vauxhall. “Dave are definitely still in the game. They did a great job, the marketing side. They only had a week to promote the fight, which is hilarious, and I believe they did a tremendous job. They got a lot of praise from sectors of the media who were kind of sniggering when they first heard of it. Great production, great event and everyone there enjoyed it. I didn’t want to go down the tried-and-tested event route. We’re talking with Dave and a few different possibilities. We want at least seven or eight weeks of promotion from a channel to get the maximum possible bang for their buck. They got 3.2m viewers promoting it for one week so a lot of people might have missed that so I feel that given a good lead-up it could do some astronomical numbers.”
“From a financial side of things, it’s hard for a terrestrial television network to rustle up the type of numbers that a pay-per-view platform could offer or generate,” he points out. “That’s why big-time boxing has, up until now, been solely on a pay-per-view or subscription platform. For instance, if Wladimir Klitschko owns the TV rights to his rematch with Tyson Fury, he’ll look at UK TV and say, ‘How much is ITV gonna pay? How much is Channel 5 gonna pay? How much is Sky pay-per-view gonna pay?’ He’s got no alliance, he doesn’t care how many people [from the UK] watch him, so he goes, ‘Pay-per-view, well when I fought David, there was £10m chucked into the pot.’ I could want to fight on a free channel but if it doesn’t generate enough money to pay the opponent – who may be a big name – am I supposed to lose money on an event just so people can watch it, risking my life and losing money as well? There has to be enough money in the pot to justify the opponent you’re fighting.”

Yes that is what I mean, Haye has a pretty impressive ability to draw a lot of them to his fights, hats off to him he is certainly skilled at that.
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
I agree with what Haye says in the post Fenster put up.
However Wlad fights on free mainstream TV for the reason that his popularity will bring him further riches after he boxes. Wlad will be remembered as Bruno, McGiugan and Benn are here.
Haye should do the same.

Thing is, is it not about money tho
So does haye really have to do anything in the ring to be a serious consideration?
