bad day at the office... Mayweather has had one Cotto has had one.
sooooo bring on the big fights i think they will all be looking to fight ricky after last night so its all good for the fans ;)
i strongly disagree...only if Hatton fights in america will he git big fights....last night proved that if he cant hold and hit Hatton is SH*T. Hes dirty and w/out bias UK reffing hes just another gibroni.
Maybe one big fight to give Hatton a crushing KO loss...lets see him git w/Margarito or PBF...Margie will end his career and put him in a pine box...Hatton wont draw PPV #'s...last night sealed that

you said "bring on the big fights"...i said "only in america"
now considering Hatton has fought 95% of his fights on the UK i highly doubt after last night he'll be thinking america any time soon unless forced too...i dont see any big fights for him in the UK any time soon...Calzaghe does the same thing...UK only
make any sense?

Collazo should have atleast gotten a fwockin draw!
Watch it while sober then, would be my advice. Every single one of you are focusing too much on the last round because Hatton got hurt. Are you forgetting the other 11 rounds? A 2 point round for Hatton in the first.
How did Harold Lederman have it scored? 114-113 to Hatton, I believe. How did Sky have it? Both commentators for Hatton. All 3 judges for Hatton. Collazo is a Don King fighter. You really think they screwed a Don King fighter?
You guys expected too much and Hatton didn't deliver. That does not mean he didn't win though. What about when Floyd lost to Castillo, which he did? Should he have moved back down a weight? Fighters aren't entitled to bad nights?
Honest to God, I have never met a more fickle bunch of people in my life, utterly incapable of stepping back and taking a measured look at the fight.
Rather than considering that Hatton simply had a bad night against a very good southpaw on his first fight at welterweight, he's overrated, should move down a weight and should be out of the P4P list. Nice one, guys.
I guess I was wrong about the Hatton fans no longer bitching about the Castillo fight...
No one is bitching about the Castillo fight. I'm drawing a comparison. Should I not do that when it makes most of the people in this thread sound like hypocrites? My point is fighters are entitled to a bad night and even more so then they challenge a very good southpaw for a world title at a new weight.
It's just your typical knee jerk reaction from people eager to see Hatton taken down a peg.

Two exellent posts Clydey perfectly summing up the idiot "fans" and the fight.
Gotta agree, you hit the nail on the head Clydey, nothing more need be said.

Let me say this a lot of people (not you G) seem to be takin what I'm saying & running with it.
I think that Hatton looked a mess last night...I didn't say that that was the end for Hatton...I just said that after seeing him in with Collazo it lowered my overall expectations of him taking out Floyd as I thought he previously may have a chance of doing so.
Southpaw or not...if people thought Collazo made Hatton look bad...I think Floyd totally exposes him. Floyd may not have the power that Collazo had last night (but supposedly lacks against others in the past) then Floyd triples that lack of power with skills.
There may not be anyone like Collazo...but there are fighters superior to him...then again...only seen Collazo in one full fight & a few snippets.
Hatton needs time to grow...but again...all roads end at Floyd.

Ricky does not need to agree to a rematch because he beat him (Yeah he scraped through and the 8/10 first round helped him to do so) fair and square.
He's now got bigger fish to "Try" and fry.
All in all if im honest.... if Ricky does'nt start to train himself up to move his head way more and move side to side and get round these straight punches to utilise his own weapons,PBF will toy with him with ease 8)
Ricky really is'nt a very boxer at all and got seriously exposed power wise last night.
Roughly the same fights as Mr Calzaghe and compare the faces of both fighters ;)
Nuff said
:coolclick: smash.
Saying that Collazo deserves a rematch...well he does...he was the one with the strap & Hatton was on the move up & Collazo took Hatton the full 12 & he wasnt just lucky. Hatton strapped one on & rode Collazo hard...thing is...he broke it off & rode Hatton right back...Brokeback that is. :-X Heh heh heh.
Anyways...I'd rather see Hatton take on an underling instead of a top dog right now...fwock it...throw him in with Gatti or Baldo & let him stop one of them...he can.
Alright kiddies...the big weekend is almost over...so off the sticky we go.
Cheers fellers...it was another good one.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
I like Ricky very much, But Callazo fought a lot like a poor man version of Mayweather with speed, power and accurracy. I think Hatton should drop back down in weight if he can and fight his last five fights there. I think Mayweather would smoke him. But every fighter has a bad night and deserves a second chance.. Hatton should use his jab a little more also, But these are just my opinions.

I agree 100% :)
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
Why is everyone saying no need for a rematch. Fear that Collazo will do better and Ricky won't.

to be honest i dont see the need for a rematch because i thought hatton won....it was a close fight and not everybody will have have scored the fight the same as me...so........
at the end of the day, if a rematch is decided then i have no qualms with that....
i think hatton would do much better next time out....
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
In a rematch...Hatton KO 8. I think he comes in better trained, better conditioned, better adjusted to the U.S., better adjusted to Collazo, and wins the fight going away. I've seen a bit of Collazo before and I can say that he was at his VERY best last night. I don't think he can possibly outdo himself. I've been wrong before though.

CC,good points BUT i DON'T THINK hATTON WANTS TO FIGHT HIM AGAIN.Seriously, straight after the fight,I don't remember him mentioning a rematch although I thinkhe should give one, just to quell any fears! Wack, agree with your points, from a US perspefctive.casual fan,you see last night and you are thinking what was all the hype about I guess :-\
Hypothetically speaking,if there a Floyd Hatton fight was announced for later this year,my money would be on....Floyd....
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds...Hatton vs Collazo
i have to admit, i never thought hatton would keep walking foreward without moving his head or ven puuting his hands up... he didnt do that against tszyu, he was anticipating a jab, blocking the jab, and ducking under the straight that followed the jab...
maybe he just didnt create a srategy for collazzo cuz he hadnt seen him?
i dont know but that fight looked real bad, he better have someone who can explain to him what he did wrong or he is fucked, also he has to stop walking around england posing for pictures with fat bitches, maybe that got his eyes off the prize
