Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
i really dont want to see PBF: DLH either....its a fight that does little to prove anything.
this is a 50: 50 IMO, because there are so many questions that need to be answered by both men. what can they bring to the table at this point in their careers?
im hoping mayorga can pull an upset and and rock old DLH in the process....Delahoya hasnt looked all that good in recent fight and now he is coming back off a 19 month hiatus? i just have a gut feeling that mayorga is the wrong type of wild man to come back into the arena against...
im actually really looking forward to this one and will be surprised if its anything less than interesting...
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
I cant see Mayorga (T)KOing ODLH, and I dont think he can win a decision. Mayorga does not have the skills to out box ODLH. I think both guys are on about the same level. Mayorga has not been very active since he got beat by Tito. The one fight he was in he did not look good. Oscar has been inactive for awhile, I dont care how much he dislikes Mayorga, ODLH wont brawl till Mayorga is ready to be put away.
Oscar will box to a big lead then try to put him away in the later rounds. Oscar by UD.
:coolclick: for the DRbR wacko. Cant wait to read it.

Apart from the training casmp part, you have no real facts, how do you know he is in Oscars head, you just belive that, you dont KNOW it for a fact...

Agree to disagree...I actually want to see the fight now. It would make Floyd the man to beat provided that he wins. Oscar has had & always will have a brilliant career. He's been great for boxing.
Floyd can be too...& I think that he will be...but he does have to beat Oscar.
Then move on to the others & solidify his legacy in the game.

Again...agree to disagree.
Oscar looked good against Hopkins until the 6th or 7th bell clanged. I think that the layoff will hurt him. Mayorga very well may be the wrong man to come back against.

Not at first...but I am kinda warming to the occassion because many others seem to be bending to the hype machine.
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
and of course a big CC, for the DRBR wacko....
i get this one live so im happy....just hope its an exciting one....
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
Technically, this fight should be VERY easy for Oscar de la Hoya.
It's age, stamina, a losing record, and ring rust working against him. Skillwise, he can even stop Mayorga.
Skillwise, after the Corey Spinks fight, I never liked Ricardo Mayorga. He had all the goods to be a great pressure fighter, but he never was, he only posed like a tough guy and threw bombs now and then.
And another thing, Mayorga didn't get into Oscar's head. Oscar was a true professional boxer at 96 (turned pro eariler, but a TRUE pro by 96), ten years from now, he won't fall for all that jive and smack Mayorga's throwing at him. Pssshh! He'll just blow that off, and stick to his game plan. I think this is going to be a closer fight than everybody thinks, with Oscar's skill possibly winning the fight.
But I just think it's too late for Oscar.
I think Mayorga will win, even if it's close, but if it is, I won't be surprised if Oscar wins a controversial decision.
Mayorga by Unanimous Decision
or Oscar by Controversial Split Decision.
Either way, I feel Mayorga will win, and Oscar is losing too much these days.

Amazing how you completely avoided my response ;)
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
Mayorga is in ODH's head for sure, that is why Dela Hoya will fight Mayorga inside...
He is going to win in brutal fashion.

ODH has been around long enough not to let Mayorga's punk a$$ tactics affect the way he is going to fight him. If Oscar tries to fight him inside from the start it is going to be a long night for the golden one. But it would make for a much more exciting fight for us fans.

you're probably right, but ODH sure as hell won't do a stunt like the Tito fight where he runs away the whole match...
ODH said himself that he wants to fight with Mayorga....ODH ko 9
Re: Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: De La Hoya vs Mayorga
Mayorga will win IMO, is Oscar is anything less than 80% of the guy who beat Vargas. I too have somewhat of a liking for mayorga, he's a dick but is extremely crazy, sick, unpredictable funny, and he's the polar opposite of ODLH, who I find extremely irritating. You can't take your eyes off mayorga.
'Give me my respect, bitch!'
'This isn't a movie, your not gonna sing like a fag'
PS CC wacko!

Truthfully that fight sucked & both fighters gave ass ended showings of themselves. I don't pick a favorite out of either one of those two...I just don't. I'm honestly surprised that you got so fwockin up in the air about it.
Quite simply I stated that "Freitas was about to cry & they hadn't even told him that he lost."
Also...again...in the start...I wanted Raheem to win...I thought that after his shot with Morales, he might be good for boxing...but honestly...after that performance I could care less about watching him again. Everyone has an off night or two...but he looked totally ineffective at certain points...not that Freitas didn't either...but I took that fight pretty lightly as I don't think that either fighter's gonna make any waives across the lake.
At times Raheem looked to be the busier fighter but he wasnt as effective.
Freitas won...period. It wasn't a land slide...it wasn't even worth watching. It was about as much fun as a fwockin Augustus fight...which you know I aint into alla that either.
By the way...weren't you leaving this forum forever because another one of your favorites was wronged & boxing had yet again gone down the crapper?
I didn't avoid your response...don't be so bitter...life will go on. ;) Easy on the drama SSSP...all will be well in the prideland soon enough.
