I tell you man, after EM PAC, I was on a Boxing High!!! The drive back home was so... so .. wonderful. hahaha Can't think of another name for it. But I drove to Vegas thinking Erik was the underdog to bet on and left knowing my favorite fighter proved all the naysayers wrong. ;D Great Night. Seen Erik fight Carlos Famosa Hernandez, Pacquiao I, and Barrera III.
As much as these guys love Mayweather, I doubt any of them paid over $200 for a seat and drove over 8 hours to see a Mayweather fight. heheh And I did this drive 3 times, with each time having a great night.
And the coca, heheh, I just never seen a fighter with that kind of look on his bloody face. Arce acted like the blood heightened his aggression, it was crazy-nuts!
Dang bro, that's true dedication and love for your favourite fighter and you've seen some awesome matches! What's the next one you're going to? You can bet your a** that if Floyd and Margarito fight,I'm going to fly stateside to watch it!!!!
Yeah, EM made it easy for any fan. He had so many historic fights that people just don't even know. heh If that makes sense. I think he said it best, that expectations for EM had always been high.
If I get a nice job soon, I may try to make it to Castillo Corrales III. Now this is one I'm not big on, because I think Diego will lose, but one of my buddies wants to go, so I wouldn't mind going to that one just to meet all the boxers and press and Diego just might pull something off that night and the fight will be exciting no matter what.
But there haven't been any fights I want to go to soon.
Fights that just say,"YOUR GONNA MISS A CLASSIC NIGHT!" A Morales fight was always special man. You and I know this, he's the only Mexican Star to match Julio Cesar Chavez three division champ record. Marco doesn't count because Chavez never cared about the WBO back then. ;) I'm not Mexican, but on a Morales fight, I always was. :) :) :) The crowd goes CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZYY!!!! On Fight Night.
If I were a Barrera fan or Juarez fan, I'd go to Vegas to see that. Juarez will make it a fight. BTW Barrera will choose to box over a fight any day. Never liked how Barrera milked Morales wins for long lengths of time and went on his slow methodical fights against low low competition, while Erik always tried to make history and always seemed to fall short of TOTAL RESPECT in the boxing world. And by respect I mean # 1 pound for pound. 8)
Agreed 10000% completely,I don't think we are ever going to disagree but then again, great minds think alike! Em is a total legend and his resume is better than anyone out there, period! I guess he epitomises the Mexican spirit, proud warriors, and he's from the rough sides of Mexico,Tijuana which maybe makes it easier for the fans to relate to him. I'm guessing you are not an MAB fan. I love that guy too but prefer EM is a fighter although in real life,I've heard EM is an arrogant jackass whereas MAB is a gentleman.

I agree except the part about him being a marketing genius. If he was then more people outside of us die hard fans would know his name ;)

If you say so.....
this the dumb shat that topic is urging people to stop doing...
when floyd got to 140..hatton hadn't done shat..he had only recently beat Kt before the gatti fight so obviously he was already signed to fight gatti before hatton proved himself worthy..and floyd had already beat brussles before hatton beat KT...
and if floyd would have beat the hell out of baldomir...you'd be saying well he didn't beat judah, and judah's the best because he had an off night...then demand he fight judah...
so with idiot like you who can't admit you don't like him and no matter what he does you will have something to say...
I agree with Starr to an extent here. Sorry JonesJrMayweather but whether you like Baldomir or not, he beat THE MAN at welterweight (seeing as Zab was undisputed champ) and therefore he becomes THE MAN. Anyone who wants to give themself the king of the division title has to go throught him. The same with Hatton at junior welter. Floyd hasnt eliminated the champ in either division and whether or not you think he would beat them, he hasnt so you nor Floyd can really claim hes great at these weights. I will admit Floyd was immense early in his career, but he has to clean out these divisions hes racing through or at the least beat the recognised champ if he wants to proclaim further greatness.
Re: A message to all the PBF haters: STOP
All that being said...we'll have one hell of a mess on our hands @ 147lbs if this happens:
Gatti beats Baldomir
Hatton beats Collazo
One of those has to face either Floyd or Margarito...& those two want to face each other...
Hence the mess.
Re: A message to all the PBF haters: STOP
...unless we get Hatton vs Gatti...which I believe that we will.
Re: A message to all the PBF haters: STOP
Its pointless to tell people who they can or can't like. I can't stand Wlad and I'm not really sure why, I just don't like him. Floyd's an exciting fighter, and now that he's back to fighting elite guys again, assuming the Oscar fight comes off, then I don't have anything to complain about with him. But some people will dislike him no matter what, but who cares.

Good point, maybe "genius" was a bit too strong of a word, however, as popular as boxing is these days, if Jesus Christ decided to lace them up, even he would probably have a hard time getting noticed outside of die hard boxing fans

Never thought about that, that will be an almighty mess. And with Ricky openly stating he'll jump around the weights to face Cotto, Coralles, Castillo and or whoever this all could get very confusing.

you can't be serious...if floyd would have kicked the saht out of baldomir that would have satisfied you? You're telling me that you wouldn't have demanded that he still fight judah? and had he refused you wouldn't have accused him of ducking?
Re: A message to all the PBF haters: STOP
The fact of the matter is, Baldomir is the CHAMP agt welterweight, he beat the recognised champ and is therfore himself the champ. I personally wouldnt of cared if Floyd fought Judah, I dont believe after his displays he desrved to fight for the title again or fight Floyd. However I can see how the boxing public would demand it.
My very simple point. In any situation where you have a clear champion, which Zab was before the Baldomir, the person that beats him is obviously then the champ. No matter what you, the media or anyone thinks, surely Floyd then cant go around claiming to be the champ without actually having beaten THE CHAMP. There is no doubt in my mind that Floyd SHOULD beat Baldomir, but that doesnt stop the fact that he has to be beat him to justify his boasts of being the best and the champion.
(I noticed I used the word champ a lot, sorry if it reads badly beacuse of it)

I actually agree with you...beat the champs..forget about the contenders...beat the guy who has the belts..i had a thread where i said that pbf should have fought baldocosby because he was obviously better than judah..people said i must be crazy...
so if you can honestly say you wouldn't criticize pbf had he not fought judah then cool...

I am a Floyd fan FYI. And No I wouldn't be saying Judah was the best at 147 because Baldomir beat him. I said that Judah would have the most difficult style for Floyd to face ;)
And he still could have fought Hatton after he beat Gatti, and he didn't. And I'm saying the bests at these weight classes other then him.
Re: A message to all the PBF haters: STOP
hatton is the one who has stated that he didn't want to come over here and have floyd be his first opponent..so that is on hatton not PBF...
Re: A message to all the PBF haters: STOP
And not fighting Wright? And Not fighting Baldomir? I know you're going to say money for one of those ;)
Re: A message to all the PBF haters: STOP
floyd has never been at 154...you can't be serious as to think that he should be fighting wright....floyd is not going up to 154 period...not at least for another 4-5 years....and baldomir had signed to fight gatti..and floyd had already stated that after judah he wanted delahoya...why didn't hatton fight baldomir?
