the story was oscar cut his hands while cutting the tape, and after consulting with NSAC they agreed to give him the banned substance as the effects of the substance would be out of OScar's system by fight night.

To lose weight. Water weight primarily. Most boxers do this, its no real secret. Mayorga just got caught. They help you to piss out a lot of fluid in order to make weight, then you can gain it all back after the weigh in. That's why Mayorga told Oscar, "I weigh 170 lbs, its on..." or something to that effect. He wanted to come in the bigger man, thought it would give him an edge, just caused him to be slower and get winded easier unfortunately. Don't over react folks, many many great fighters take injections to lose weight like this.

I just think Oscar slipped something in his drink...so he could knock him out

come to think about it Mayorga's trainer slipped something into his mouth moments prior to them fighting, did anyone else notice it?
