Re: Interesting....hatton isnt as good out of manchester is he?
whatever snakey. kostya was landing on hatton all the time. straight right cross at the beggining of nearly every round (except the 12th which kostya couldnt even make it out to). hatton was getting so close to stop tszyu from being able to that, but he was getting hit on the way in nearly every time.

He has not proven himself in the US yet to get anygood publicity for a megafight and huge payday, after last nites performance he hardly left us on the edge of our couches wanting more again HE IS NOT READY!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Interesting....hatton isnt as good out of manchester is he?
that is bollocks. if he went back to fighting in manchester then he would just get slated for that. he cant win. the only way he will boost his profile and earn your dollars is if he keeps on fighting in the US.

I agree with you but to say he is gonna get a big name fight and mega paydayright after that performance he better hope he gets a gift like WInky is getting after a similiar poor performance against Sam Soliman who in return he got rewarded with a shot at the middleweight superchamp. Winky at least payed his dues and beat solid competion Mosely 2x Trinidad etc.. Winky had to take his lumps but he finally arrived...Ricky has along way to go

Bull. Fighters win fights the ref will not influence PBF vs Mayweather if he is competent.
Re: Interesting....hatton isnt as good out of manchester is he?
well yes he has a long way to go. but to get the fights he wants, earn the big money and to get the legacy he wants he's got to keep on fighting in the US. so i don't know what point your trying to make.

I did not get my point across correctly sorry,I am trying to say that there is no money attached to Ricky Hattons name inside the USat this time to get a big payday with a topflight Welterweight ;)
Re: Interesting....hatton isnt as good out of manchester is he?
OK I said they would do it for the right price. U wanted a reason there it is. As far as Hatton getting the publicity, he goes out and fights a couple people to set up the big payday, like everybody else. And he still has to defend his title. Oh yea he is the JWW champ right? There is a couple bucks there. Besides some might want to fight him while they can still beat him, you know be for he learns defence.
Re: Interesting....hatton isnt as good out of manchester is he?
Cant you see Hatten bobbing like the old Tyson, hands up defending, doubling up on the body. ;D
Re: Interesting....hatton isnt as good out of manchester is he?
You all should give callazo more credit for be able to keep hatton out for alot of the fight something kostya could not do and as for hatton having no chance against cotto thats just nonsense because hatton just thought and underated world champion who went the whole 12 rounds with him will cotto beat a poor Branco and in the fight befor that he allmost got knocked out by a Torres who had not fought any body with a half descent record

I agree. all ive heard is hatton bashing. collazo should be commended for an excellent display
Re: Interesting....hatton isnt as good out of manchester is he?
Collazo did do a great job, and no there is no money to be made right now. He is no superstar and I truly believe he will loose to most top tier guys as long as he is not allowed to hold and hit and wrestle and push the opponents head down while they are clinching. Beside if he tries that with anyone else they will do the same to him before taking him out. he should go back to jr welter and maybe fight Cotto but I think Cotto will win. the only way for Hatton to stay undefeated ia to fight B level competition until maybe PBF gives him a shot, or learn something else then holding an hitting because it will not be tolerated here.

There is money for Hatton here in the US he just has to get a fight vs a guy who has the style that brings out his best Gatti or Cotto...maybe Margarito even but he'd have to really tighten up his defense and shorten those punches to do well vs Tony.
Hatton has heart and he's not afraid to mix it up, I just think he fought the wrong way. He needed to unload when Collazo was on the ropes ala Oscar De la Hoya but he never did. His style reminded me of a fresh from prison Mike Tyson and he needs to be more of a 1988 Tyson to really open eyes here!!!
