If he doesn't fight Collazo, he will have no one else but the Gatti-Baldomir winner, unless he takes that bum mandatory. This is a critical time for Hatton.
sum1 quoted that the WBa said who he has to fight If he stays at 140.
Btw, is it only me who thinks don king f***ed up? surly it was his job to have a clause in there somewhere that if hatton did indeed win the fight he had to give collazo a rematch?
I seriously doubt Hatton's people would have signed on to that contract. He was the money draw for the fight, despite Collazo being champ, and I'm sure HBO had no interest ex ante in burning TWO fights off of Ricky's brand new contract with Collazo matches. If Don King had insisted on that, Hatton would've found someone else and Collazo would have never been on HBO. Unfortunately, them's the breaks.
Re: If PBF rematched Castillo, Hatton should rematch Collazo!
Gatti could outbox Hatton and hits much harder then Collazo, you have your end result ;) It would look like the second or third Micky Ward fight

me i aint bothered i think there are far better fights out there for Hatton and if Hatton came out and said his next fight was gonna be Collazo i sure wouldn't shot my load if im honest as i really just see the fight with Ricky being better at the weight and winning a less closer fight... and everyone saying well he only beat Collazo but he wouldn't beat blah blah hate hate ;D

It would raise his US profile immensely though--maybe enough to make a floyd fight.

Yup and Saddo. If Gatti beats Baldomir and Hattob beat Gatti(which he wouldn't) Hatton would be the recognized Undisputed champ.. do you mean to say you DON'T want that for him ??? ;D

1- I dont wanna hear anymore anti-PBF crap from people like Salthebutcher.
2- CC for Starr for making an excellent point.
Back at ya 117.

too many if's in that statement for me to take it seriously ::**
truth id prefer Baldomir to win and fight Hatton... because the way it works if Ricky beat Gatti.. which he would eveyone would be saying Gatti is shot... which he is ::**
the main 3 guys i want to see hatton fight....
Cotto
Witter
Mayweather
there are others but that would be my main 3 ;)
Mayweather dosnt want to know
Witter fight dosnt get cred in the good old US of A
and Cotto is busy
so time will tell just whats next... i have no idea... and wouldn;t be supprised if he did rematch Collazo out of the fact he has no one else to fight but not for me thanks ;)

I agree you'd get some people here saying that, but to the average sort-of-fan who doesn't know Hatton, he'll just get way more exposure, which will set up bigger fights, etc.--the whole reason he came to the U.S. in the first place.

Good list, but I'm starting to think I'd rather see Hatton-Castillo than any of them. It would be just an all-action, in-close slugfest. And a great test for both of them.
Re: If PBF rematched Castillo, Hatton should rematch Collazo!
FYI, Saddo, Im not a Hatton hater. I think the kids great for boxing. Hes exciting cuz all he does is come forward, swinging. I dont put up anti-Hatton posts, either. I do however put up posts that state the obvious:
1-He should give Collazo an immediate rematch
2-Based on what I've seen, he aint in PBF's league (but who is)
3-Its good to support your hometown fighter, but you (SADDO) need to be realistic. When was the last time any of your posts offerd a bit of criticism for Hatton? He aint perfect, you know.
Re: If PBF rematched Castillo, Hatton should rematch Collazo!
Better yet, Hatton supporters, answer this:
If Hatton had lost a razor thin decision to Collazo, and lost his belt, would yall be so quick to say, "Collazo won, fair and square. He doesnt owe Hatton a rematch"? If your answer is yes, YOU ARE A LIAR!!!!!!!!! There'd be 1,000 posts in hee talking about a fixed fight, and how it was biased cuz Hatton aint from the U.S., and a whole bunch of other dumb excuses.

1: he shouldn't cant see the point but he may still give him one
2: time will tell if Mayweather stops ducking him ;)
3: hatton is from the UK whats that got to do with anything... my favourite fighters are manny Pac and Mayorga... you saying im not allowed to like UK fighters... i thought that was your job ;)
you musnt have been reading my posts in the past especially pre KT i was his biggest critic ;)
Post 2
dont deal with IF's i leave that to the screamer ::**
dont judge people by your standards ::**
Re: If PBF rematched Castillo, Hatton should rematch Collazo!
srry, but Gatti couldn't take Hatton's pressure
Re: If PBF rematched Castillo, Hatton should rematch Collazo!
Truth is collazo should be calling out gatti and PBF now while hes got his 15 mins of fame.
Imo he gets back in the ring with hatton again, hatton will handle him alot better this time, maybe a TKo late on.
hatton beat him fair and square in the last fight, he was by no means ready to fight at that w8, and he and his camp seemd to vastly underestimate Collazo. All the signs point to a better prepared hatton going into a rematch with a guy he beat, but a Collazo who imo seems to be at his best. There wasn't to much i could honestly say he needs to improve; what he lacks is punching power, since he can't learn that.
If he gets back in the ring with hatton now and screws it up; he will blow any chance of getting in the ring for a tittle fight, with gatti or PBF - and if he beats hatton, hatton will just be called over-hyped etc etc and Collazo will be no better off than he is now, apart form having his WBA belt back - but is it realy worth the gamble?
