Let me just say this...I like both fighters...but I wanted Wright to win...& I think that he did.Quote:

Wright came forward half the fight, and fought in center half the fight. Winky dominated on the ropes, Taylor dominated in the center. Personally, if Winky would have kept the steady output for the last few rounds, he might have won. But I think he was nearly gassed himself, and couldn't keep up the pressure. Taylor was actually punching his way off the ropes the last few rounds.Quote:

Taylor concentrates on his power too much...he relies on it. It will be his downfall. Taylor's got an open defense as he always jabs & drops his guard to marvel at what his piston like jab did to the opponent. He's grown accustomed to hearing what a machine he is & he's been believing in the hype for the last 2-3 years.
You can't get set in your ways because anything can & will happen.
Stamina is another prob for Taylor as is relying on the power...it kind of goes hand in hand. The power that doesnt work results in the lack of stamina because he's waiting on power to take over & do the job when he is outmatched skill for skill.
Wright won that fight.
I think Taylor was more affected by the headbutt that was responsible for his eye ballooning up, watch him pawing at it immediatley after the clash.Quote:

Still, great fight though, I think a rematch is inevitable and should be the most eagerly awaited fight this winter.
Taylor has been known jabs rather than power punches throughout his career. Wright just negated his jab. As for his stamina, Winky looked gassed way earlier than Taylor. He was fighting for all 12 rounds without taking rounds off. I don't understand talking about Taylor believing the hype. There isn't a more modest boxer in the sport. He didn't say I won, he said good fight.Quote:

I agree Taylor does rely heavilly on his power and I reckon this is a lot of the reason the guy is good to watch as he is vulnerable as well. I am a big fan of both these guys and pretty much all the decent fighters in the game today. One things for sure it was a great fight and there are lot of good match ups we have already this year and it looks like it will keep going in the right direction for boxing.Quote:

Thing is we ARE giving Taylor his due credit, he still lost the fight all credit given ;)Quote:
