I am Mexican and I am a Pac fan, he is a classy guy. I ran into him in Vegas one time, what a nice guy, hell even Prince Hamed was a nice guy. Barrera too a nice guy
being from So Cal and frequenting Vegas I have run into these guys. All smaller than me I might add. (franklyI think I can take em all on if I had a bat.
what does bug me is the some pac fans who happen to be filipino. They do start talkin the race thing. Pac has a lot of Mexican fans. Mexican fans love brawlers.

i wasnt really trying to pick on you man. being filipino and a Pacfan i want Pac to be remembered as a fighter who went after the best of the best instead of simple being known as the "mexican killer" "mexican assasin" who went after only mexican fighters. its like how it is now, how when people talk about pacs resume they only talk about the mexican fighters he faced, instead of the fact that in every weight he became champ he beat the "Man" at those weight class. Pac(19) beat Sasakul(thai) at flyweight and Ledwaba(SA) at 122. They were unknown to most NAmerican fight fans but they were the "man" at their weight class when Pac beat them. pretty much my whole point is basically i want him to be known as fighter who went for the best rather than the fighter who just went after mexican fighters.

I think people are close minded when they call him the mexican assasin.
Pacquiao is into fighting the top guys in any division, and the top guys in his divisions are mexican and he fights them and defeats them. He didn't chose them because they were mexican, he chose them because they were the best competition out there.

rivalries are great for the sport, ala puerto rico vs mexico, the difference is that these two counties have a great respect for the game and the fighters themselves, these are true fans. all these posters IMO are not true fans and never will be.
I believe the problem is not with the fighters but with the fans. Being neutral, a black man, I noticed the disrespect that the Mexican fans have during a fight. I notice that during the national anthem, when the mexican national anthem is being sung, the crowd is quiet but when they would sing the American Anthem or any other anthem from a different nationality, the Mexican fans show disrespect and tend to be noisy by booing.

I would think the real fight fan does not look at race or nationality at all. its about what a fighter brings to the table. and what kind of person the guy i. , How he conducts himself in and out of the ring that makes you love or hate a fighter, not the nationality or color of their skin. IMO

small world, my daughter lives in anaheim (ball & brookhurst, less than a mile from fullerton)
