I think Hatton's speed is greatly diminished at 147, of course I only have the one fight to base it on. Plus there is the issue of a 5" reach advantage. And Gatti has much more xp @ WWQuote:

I could be wrong but I'm sure he does not have that much more experience than Hatton and the reach advantage is insignificant when we speak about Gatti because he does not make the most of it,nearly every fight he is in is a war. Also,to your other point, you can see the difference in power between 140 and 147 with Collazo hurting Hatton so I do believe Luis to be stronger than Gatti.
Do not misunderstand me,Gatti-Hatton,great fight but in no way shape or form do I think Gatti would win and also, just to add,I think Baldomir will beat Gatti too.
I think Baldimir plays right into Gatti's style ! I think Gatti knocks Baldimir out inside 6 . should be a good action fight !Quote:

Zab was a little chunky in that fight with Bald, his leverage was off in that fight because of it. But no doubt that Bald is tough as nails, I just have a feeling that Gatti will knock him out, it could sure go the other way ! Hey Congrats on your moderator position by the way ! You’re the p4p champ in my book !!Quote:

at this stage though I think Hatton would win, neither have really fought at welterweight(Hatton once, Gatti twice i think) so I don't think it would be the case of one fighter been the natural at the weight.
I think Hattons pressure would finally tell and stop Gatti late on,
out of intrest how do u all think Gatti would do against Collazo?
I think Collazo would beat Gatti , he is a slick south paw with good power ! and strong as hell ! I think Gatti bust up in that fight and its stopped on cuts ..Quote:

Collazo 26 wins - 12 KOs = 46.1% KO rate
Gatti 40 wins - 31 KOs = 77.5% KO rate
Hatton 41 wins - 30 KOs = 73.1% KO rate
Gatti of course lost to de la Hoya, but in his other 2 WW bouts, he won by TKO 10th round and TKO 2nd round
Collazo is NOT a power puncher, he is a boxer........
Collazo's style is there to destroy guys like Gatti........Collazo one-sided UDQuote:

I can honestly say at any rate this is one of the top 5 fights I'd like to see I think both fighters would get their chins tested to the fullest!! and a :coolclick: because I am enjoying this debate
Hahaha,CC back,I'm one of the most enjoyable people to debate with here ;D!! By saying Gatti would hurt Ricky more, you are basically saying he would knock him down because in round 12,when Ricky was out on his feet, that was the only thing that did not happen and in my humble opinion,I don't think Gatti can hurt Hatton. You make a valid point BUT again,I must reiterate that, that there is a big big difference between a natural WW and a blown up one and we will see that when Gatti fights the rugged Baldomir. Hatton acknowledged this too after his fight with Collazo.
Yes, I do think Gatti would knock Hatton down, not out, but down. I still think Ricky being a more agressive fighter would point win overall. If Gatti went in with the same game plan he did against Mayweather (going for the chest and shoulders) I believe that would be a strategem that would give Ricky a lot of problems, utilize Gatti's reach advantage and ultimately make it incredibly difficult for Hatton to get inside where he is the most effective.Quote:

That's the thing though,Mcgirt is trying to turn a guy who has always been a slugger and who#s best defence is his chin into a boxer and I don't think it would work, certainly not against Hatton! Why do you think going for Hatton's shoulders etc would be effective?
because IF, Gatti could use those jabs to Hatton's chest and shoulders, it would bring back the relevancy of Gatti's reach advantage. granted that is a big IF and his ability to do that would IMO determine the outcome of the fight. All of this said, I still think Hatton eventually gets inside and cleans house.Quote:
