I Do not think we say the same fights!
Fight one was far from one sided, one judge only had Whitaker winning by one point. And McGirt fought with a rotor cuff injury.
Fight two although more one sided, was still competitive with McGirt being credited with a second round knockdown ;)
Re: Who Fought the Perfect Fight?
Personally the most punch perfect fight I saw was IMO Chavez's peak performance, his 11 round destruction of Edwin Rosario.
And if we are talking perfect punches, you can never beat Ray Robinson's 5th round KO of Gene Fullmer in their second fight.
Ray Robinson was meant to be at his best against Tommy Bell when he finally won the World 147lbs title.
I always admired Duran's destruction of Ray Lampkin, although he was not that impressed himself, with his:
"I had been in shape, they've be taking him to the morgue" (not the hospital).
So maybe Duran's victory over Carlos Palomino was his best...
Re: Who Fought the Perfect Fight?
it could be argued i guess that if oscar had fought perfectly until he stated runnin away from trinidad in the latter rounds, though i think it was the first round, a middle round that they scored for him aswell, but they could easyily be argued to be oscars, it was great to watch a half a match worth's of a boxing lesson thhough, i love watching a great tactical bout.
Re: Who Fought the Perfect Fight?
rocky marciano vs jersey joe walcott 2nd fight

Big H, What about Marciano's right hand bomb that squished Walcott's face, that it looked like Walcott's face was made of soft rubber?

Agreed. On a sidenote, have there ever been two great of pure boxers matched together like that in a title fight? Don't think so. Those 3 fights are something all boxing fans should see.

I think Lewis' beating of Tua was a more perfect performance then any of those. Did Lennox even get hit?
Good call, but I guess I give more credit to some of the other performances because a lot of those were against guys that I think of more highly than Tua. But it was a good performance.
Re: Who Fought the Perfect Fight?
i say calzaghe against Lacy was the perfect performance, no doubt! of most recent fights.

Re: Who Fought the Perfect Fight?
Have to put another vote on this thread=
Ali-Foreman. Ali played Big George. Wasn't dominate, but pulled it out.
