If it was 115-113 all of them for a SD for Peter then I don't think there would be a problem. But the margin that they had adding the point deduction is the true robbery. Thats the point. That means that Toney from the 6th round on had to win every other round to get a draw and thats not the case.

The margin was too large. Another decision I dont agree with to be honest, but im surprised that a fighter as limited as Peter was able to even make it a close fight...

Peter showed great improvement. It was a great fight. Both guys were impressive, I give the edge to Peter. 5 points is a little extreme, but maybe all that trash talking pissed off the judges and if it was close they leaned toward Peter..... Wouldn't be the first time that has happened. Either way is was close and everyone, myself included thought Toney would dominate, and if Peter had a chance it was from a lucky shot. Definitely didn't turn out that way. Toney was hurt in my opinion at least 4 different occasions, Sam was never hurt. But he was huffing and puffing from the 3rd on through.

Toney took Peter's best shots and stayed on his feet, something the hero of so many haters on this forum, Wladimir Klitschko could not do. Toney won by least 115-112. Peter did well for himself, but no way did he win the fight. No way in hell. >:mad

Cool Click Excellent point :coolclick:. I thought Toney won especially with the point deduction, but i agree with you, Toney should have come in correct 217-222 he would have really put on a clinic, however he didn't and Peter was able to hurt Toney several times during the fight . Good post BG !

i dont think toney will be able to get a rematch against peter, as his team wont let him because they wouldnt be confident of him geting the nod nxt time round, hence ruining his title shot. i can see toney getting installed as the mandatory for the winner of peter-maskaev

True, Toney should be in better condition. I thought if it went to a decision Toney would have made it more concise. Its surprising really.
We've got to give credit to Peter though. He was more active than usual and his power was enough to disuade Toney from exchanging too much.
Toney did enough, but it was a far from complete performance....

Here's why...
1) Toney hasn't looked dominant in his last couple fights
2) Decision loss? That's qualification enough for a WBA title shot, ask Monte Barrett!
3) He's tiny, he has a little pop and he's still a big name in boxing
IMO Toney-Valuev should and can happen

What's funnier is no one's really talking about Peter Rabit punching all night long. Peter's best shot is wide right hand thrown to the back of the head :). If you see his fights he has a lot of these punches in every fight. The WBC should seriously do something about this, also Peter has a tendency to lock down a fighter with one hand and hit him with other.
Kudos to Toney, he made Peter look silly after all those wide misses. Peter looked puzzled on how to handle Toney. All in all I was expecting a majority decision for Toney.
