Re: WHO's the GREAAAATEST???
Yup, very good article, though it is definitely written from an American point of view. I'm sure they could have squeezed in a few Brits or europeans into that list.
However, when it comes to being the greatest, then surely one of the factors that should be considered as a boxer is knowing when to retire at the right time in one's career. If you look at the two fighters who have fought in the past 12 months on that list, they are both old, arguably washed up and would have been much better off throwing in the towel when they were near their peak, rather than sullying their legacies with pointless wins and defeats to fighters they would have whupped when they were at their best.

roy jones is good but no one is unbeatable remember that ;)
He was as close as anyone in the history of the sport would ever get to unbeatable tho
If Jou Louis could be outboxed by Billy Conn, theres plenty of people who would of done him in - I don't think the same could be said for Jones
Honestly I think you'll have a hard time naming a middleweight that he couldn't beat over the course of 12 rounds. Hagler, Hearns, Robinson, Monzon, Lamotta, Hopkins all were inferior
IMO anyway
And your opinion makes great sense. Jones at 160. Who could beat him? Not many, if any.
Re: WHO's the GREAAAATEST???
ill name u some that would give him hell ray leonard tommy hearns marvin hagler sugar ray robinson hope this helps jones is good boxer from what i see but he isnt unbeatable middleweight u know that isnt true

i feel he was pretty much unbeatable.. he could have taken some big names at middleweight or super middle!! and plus he had the power in the middleweight division he wasnt AS much of a power puncher a light heavy!
i think a prime bernard hopkins would have beaten roy at middleweight... bhop was supreme
peace

At 160 Jones destroys natural welterweights Leonard and Hearns (and I'm a Hearns fan). I think he would out point Hagler pretty easily. Robinson would most likely be his toughest test.

Re: WHO's the GREAAAATEST???
I cant argue with any of your selections as they are all excellent selections...but I truly believe Michael Spinks belongs in the top 10....First light heavy to win the heavyweight crown and the fact that no one could beat him at light heavy. The loss to Tyson probably tarnishes his great career but that was against Tyson at his destructive best fighting a bloated light heavyweight...and I think that fight should be dismissed as such.
