PBF makes me laugh.
He cannot sell out Mandalay Bay yet he expects $9m. Hatton sells out a 22,000 MEN arena everytime he fights there and PBF expects him to take less. Once Hatton is as popular stateside he will also sell out these venues, and with that he should have greater bargining power for a fairer split of the purse.

Id say tops $15 million, at worst id see Hatton taking 40/60 in PBF favour if in America, so that would mean $9 million to PBF and $6 million Hatton, firstly would PBF be happy with giving up such a share when he can fight the likes of Baldomir and others for like 80/20 split?? I dont think so, Hatton is still basically making his name in the American boxing world, and he wants to hold more cards when negotiating with PBF, for example if he beats Uranga then puts on a show against Castillo in the summer of 07, then the American public will no more about him and this will give him more negotiating skills meaning he can claim more money, Hatton would fight PBF no problem but he wants to be paid what he feels he is worth similar to PBF.

8000 people is a great start, give him a chance.
I do give him a chance, but you have to think about the fact that this was the first time for casual boxing fans from america to see him. That is their only impression, and it wasn't a good enough performance for them to take the time to go to youtube to see his other fights. Also, his next fight is against Juan Urango, also not a draw for American audiences. If Hatton is looking to sell out arenas in America, he is going about it the wrong way.
We all know that everyone and their kin will go to see him at MEN, we get it, he is popular in the UK. Just don't imply that things will work the same stateside, you can't speak for us.

Of course i realise this. And do you not realise that, for a largely unknown fighter in casual boxing fans eyes as Ricky is stateside, that 8000 is a good start. Bet you this pal, not one of the fans that night walked out early, or even boo'ed the performance. ;)
Do ya not think that the percentage's will play a part in the numbers Ricky could attract stateside. How many people live in the UK and turn up to watch him fight. Compare this to the size of the american audience and the potential to draw even more than the 22,000 he gets in the UK. He has a style of fighting that will get people out and pay to watch. I guess the only way this can be decided is to look at PPV figures once Ricky has had his 3rd fight on HBO and compare them to other PPV fighters around. Will be interesting to see the figures of Floyds last fight.

Would Baldomir beat Tszyu then?
If Tszyu came back now and fought Baldimor at 147 then I'd say it was a 50/50 fight.
Baldomir couldnt get near Floyd because he was too quick and elusive. He wouldn't have that problem with Tyszu. Would be a great slugfest.

I agree. Mayweather would light that boy up.
I think Mayweather would beat Hatton, but no where near as easily as he beat Baldomire, Collazo gave him problems but there was many reasona for that, i think a Hatton on form will give Mayweather problems. But id say Mayweather will have to many answers.

He is exciting to watch though and always makes a fight of it.

i dont know where you get your info from but its wrong..
hatton wants floyd.. and floyd wants hatton.. and in fairness its prob both theyr faults for hatton wanting a big payday for the risk, and floyds massive ego...
niether is scared..
hatton did want floyd at 140... and floyd could have had hatton at 140 but floyd went round saying gati has a paper title.. then went and fought for that which meant nothing.. this is just after hatton beat the man at 140 which was tszyu..
hatton stayed at 140 and fought moussa... another good opponent, another title..
floyd took his paper title from gatti and moved to 147 to beat mitchell which was no chalenge for floyd
so there is no way that hatton didnt want to fight pbf.. if anything more likely the other way..

18 foot ring baby ! or no match ! unless the money's right !~ if the cut is good, Hatton will give Floyd his big ass 26 foot ring , and thus will be out boxed something fierce. ! but if that fight is in a standard 18 foot ring , It would be a fantastic to watch, and I would favor Hatton in that situation
