Im not even a big Lacy fan, but to say he is finished as a major player is silly. He took on a tough fight and scraped on through. The guy has balls and with the right tuition he can still play a part at SMW....Quote:

fair enough - lets see what becomes of him shall we
If you notice in the first rds. where he was using his jab and throwing the straight punches he was wining and was giving Tsypko trouble..... As I said I think Lacys problem is hes NOT patient, I saw how he would try to get back to his jab and the straight righ (instead of the looping bombs he throws) but then he would forget all that and start throwing bombs! it's like he doesnt have the patience to fight and win rds. at a time. He want's the BIG KO toooooo much... and to me thats his problem.....
Hate to do it...but I agree.Quote:

Massive problem mate. (Mick...) (How's the head Wack..? ;D)
He was badly wobbled in the 7th or 8th i think and when the other guy can come through his bombs he has little boxing skills to change his tactics.
He's exactly like a lesser skilled Tyson ;)
Tsypko was no joke.
Has everyone forgotten that Vitali is a good fighter too?
And it's not the fight that Lacy should have come back on because Tsypko aint a joke and can make anyone look bad and is very skilled.
Lacy had an opponent in front of him who was very good Super Middleweight and I like that he struggled.
It's better for him to fight a tough opponent and struggle then face an easy opponent and knock them up and then get beat up badly like Trinidad was :'(
No one seems to be pointing out that Lacy stopped using his left hand somewhere in the 4th round, and kept going for six more. They held the ice bag only on his left shoulder throughout the fight.
You are all right; Tsypko could have won--if he did more. But he didn't, and Lacy showed stamina and maturity in fighting one handed. When he got tired in the eighth & ninth, he started leaning in & Tsypko capitalized. Go back and look.
It's already agreed that he was coming back tough, so the fact that he took a close decision is a real commendation to his ability.
Let him heal and let's see who and how he fights next...
well Lacy was saying to his corner that he had hurt his left shoulder since the 2nd round.
But whats Birmingham doing? Not teaching Lacy the way he should thats what
I'll say it like this...
If Clottey fought the way Lacy did, Clottey would have won the championship last night.
Instead he loses with an excuse, and Lacy wins with lots of criticism. Go figure.
Because I think more people expected Lacy to beat Tsypko convincingly. And expected Margarito to overwhelm Clottey.Quote:

If Lacy had showed a bit in this fight, his next bout was for WBA belt against Mundine. That fight is definately not gunna happen. Negotiations are now under way between Soliman and 'The Mouth'. Mundine would well and truly DESTROY Lacy. Lacy may now have to look towards Alan Green and other up-and-comers to try and score a lucky victory there. Other than that, nobody highly ranked will even consider him. ;)
But it's not like Lacy looked good even at the beginning of the Calzaghe fight. This just isn't a situation where a guy came in blazing, looked really sharp, and over the course of a fight was picked apart and was then never the same. It's not a Meldrick Taylor thing. Lacy didn't look any better in the beginning of the Calzaghe fight than he did here.Quote:

Gotta agree with everything said here. I missed the winky fight but caught this one and was left unimpressed by lacy yet again. He was gifted that decision as pretty much everyone had him down 2 rounds. HBO pundits had him 2 rounds up but they must've been watching a different fightQuote:
