The Castillo fight was a loooong time ago. Floyd is a much more complete fighter than he was then. At that time, Floyd didn't have the same amount of offensive weapons to keep a brawler like Castillo off him. His right hand was completely undeveloped and he relied almost exclusively on quick left hooks. Mayweather '02 and Mayweather '06-'07 are not one and the same.

Zab Judah is a much different fighter than Mayweather. While a total headcase, Judah possesses tremendous hand and foot speed, in addition to the difficulty that his southpaw style presents. I always said that a focused Judah was the only guy at 147 who could give Floyd a scare, because he's the only fighter who is blessed with as much speed as Floyd. Thru the first 4 rounds, Judah fought very well, because of his speed, and because Floyd was a little confused by the southpaw stance.
After the first few rounds, Mayweather completely figured Judah out, and gave him a beating over the last 2/3 of the fight.
Cotto doesn't present the speed and style issues that Judah does. He doesn't have nearly the hand or foot speed and therefore will not be able to land significant punches, like Judah was able to do in Rounds 1-4.
These words sound soooo familiar.....
Remember reading something VERY similar to this before SRL and Duran met for the 1st time.....

Cotto is the next Roberto Duran?
I don't think Duran would've gotten rocked by DeMarcus Corley and been in a life and death struggle with Ricardo Torres.
Cotto is a nice young fighter and I'd love to see him in some big fights, but I think his fans need to go a little easy on the hyperbole.

Never said.... Not sure where you read that.
I was mearly pointing out the fact that most people felt that SRL was far toooo skilled and light years ahead of Duran. And also like you that Speed and skill will beat Power.

this is getting ridiculous, cotto is coming off a big win against CARLOS QUINTANA, that does not make him ready for the #1 p4p fighter on the planet
Well apparently Sharmba Mitchell was ready for the #1 P4P fighter.... ::** A well deserved fight for Sharmba...
more deserving than strum when he fought delahoya ;)
and mitchell was the 2nd best southpaw welterweight at the time, when they fought
remember who was the best?
zab judah who was linear welterweight champion of the world and also happened to be mayweathers next fight

You mean when OLDH fought Sturm.... ;) Cause ODLH was the one moving up in weight...
I must have hit a nerve if I made you resort to coming back at me with a ODLH blow... ;)
Sharmba #2 Welterweight? ??? rated by who? You?..... Now I know your joking, he had only fought once at Welter prior to the PBF fight how can anyone rate him #2 ? When your the #1 P4P fighter in the world (which I don't dispute) you fight the best, Hatton moved up to 147 and fought Collazo the WBA Champ. someone with 147 credabilty... Credit due to Hatton for taking on someone with a heartbeat for his 1st fight at Welter.
PBF moves up in weight and with other fightert there for him to fight, he takes on the WORLD renowned natural 147 lber. Sharmba... Please!! man....
And Zab that guys done, history, past his finished hes left to the '0' he doesn't exist..... By the way you forget to metion how PBF&ZAB fought fot the shitty! ass IBF title since they didn't get their piece of the pie from Baldomir-Zab it hurt them in the pocket and what better way to make up for the $$$ then have them give the belt to Zab so that he could rake in some money from PBF...

1.) i said that sharmbay was the 2nd best SOUTHPAW ww (i was implying that it may have been a tune up for zab)
2.) the pbf/judah fight was already signed and scheduled at the thomas and mack BEFORE zab fought baldomir (wacko posted an interview with baldo once before where baldo said that it was zabs biggest mistake for signing the mayweather fight before they fought) i knew about ths from other sourses...
3.) the ibf belt was completely insignificant, ill give you that
4.) after floyd got the ibf belt, he fought the real champion and shut him out........... you were probably one of the first people to criticise mayweather for fighting baldo, and then again for shutting him out
5.) hatton fought collazo.......... who is he fighting now that he went back to 140?? mayweather took an easier fight, but you seem to overlook the fact that hes fighting oscar delahoya in his FIRST fight at 154 (hmmmm........ hatton taking on collazo at 147 for his first fight at that weight and instantly moving back down to 140 and fighting some trash or mayweather taking on delahoya for his first fight at 154 AFTER he took over 147, whos got bigger balls/heart?)
6.) mayweather was also moving up in weight when he fought mitchell (who was a much better fighter than sturm, at the time ;))

Those two guys both think they're bigger than the sport itself.

Like how you say an 'aging' DLH so that after Floyd wins you can say , 'well Oscar was old.' ::** Nice try.
By the way, when's Ricky Hatton fighting someone who didn't play an extra in 'House of 1000 Corpses?'
Re: In all Seriousness who thinks Cotto would give Floyd the scare of his life???
PBF would run but Cotto would catch PBF early and hurt Floyd causing PBF to run even faster. This is not the same weight drained Cotto of 140.
Run Florest Run!
;D
Weight drained and all, Cotto still put a hurting on Paullete "the Running Man" Malinaggi ;D
What would happen to Paulette if she moves up to fight Cotto? The samething that would happen to PBF if he moved down to fight Cotto ;D

No offence but Oscar is aging, just because he is fighting PBF does not change that first,if Floyd is as great as everyone says he is he should win second and third, how much praise does Hatton get for beating Tszyu? Not much...Tszyu was old, inactive etc...isn't it the same with Oscar? How many ties has Oscar fought in the last 3 years?
Re: In all Seriousness who thinks Cotto would give Floyd the scare of his life???
Cotto would give PBF more trouble than Dela Hoya, But Cotto doesn't react well to punches he don't see coming. PBF would take him out eventually.
