I dont know what fight you were watching but Winky forced much of the action, and was walking forward alot. He landed alot more shots, and despite what everyone says he fought the last round, just not the last minute of it, which was fine because Taylor didnt do anything in the last round. You do have to take the title from the champ, but if he wants to keep it he needs to do something to show he wants to keep it.
An Error Has Occurred!
Sorry global, wacko can't repeat a karma action without waiting 24 hours...but I owez ya another :coolclick:
Very well said. Wright won the fight...HBO gave Taylor the draw.
Jim watts on SSP had taylor winning by two rounds lol...
personaly thought winky won without question, but how taylor was given the last round was totaly beoynd me.

Re: Worst decisions of 2006?
TBH I could see how it could have been a draw or a win for either... Boxing is often not as clear cut as win/loss... people are trying to get things done in a round... pursueing goals and testing each other... depends on what the judges and you score for... never been clearer than in a fight with such a clash of styles either... Each went out and did what the wanted to do to a good degree... Peter was able to Bully Toney and Toney was able to score the cleaner shots and score good counters.
Personally I scored for Toney but I can understand why some one would score for Peter... Toney was Landing better but Peter was controlling the canvas...
Re: Worst decisions of 2006?
i got one;
Pac choosing top rank over GBP
Re: Worst decisions of 2006?
allowing winky wright to get away with a draw............
taylor clearly had that fight won by AT LEAST 2 rounds

Cos he already beat him. I'm sure if Collazo could go down to Light Welter, Hatton would gladly fight him. You're gunna argue that Collazo isn't a light-weler aren't you??
Well Hatton aint a welter so there ya go.

No matter what you say it don't change the fact that Hatton opened his big mouth and said he'll give Collazo a rematch. "Collazo deserves the right to try and win his title back." Is what Hatton said. That's a welterweight title. Not Light welter.

Well smart arse if he wants his title back why doesn't he go and ask Mr Cotto for it back? Why the fuck does he deserve the right? He lost. End of. You don't deserve the right for another shot just because you did quite well.

I really could care less if Collazo gets another title shot or not. But how about you man-up and answer this question. Why give your word your going to give somebody a rematch and than back out like a bitch? It ain't like he backed out to take a big fight, instead. Cuz Urango ain't a big fight.

I agree with you about Urango. Thats a strange fight to me. Hatton admitted in his autobiography that he didnt want to fight Collazo again. Billy Graham (his trainer) seriously advised him against fighting at welter but HBO pretty much cut every other option off and Hatton already being inactive for 6 or so months, didn't want to lose the fight date.....so in his own words he decided to be Billy Big Bollocks. The plan was never for him to fight at welter in the 1st place. That was HBO's fault....and to a degree Hatton's fault.
AS it happens the fight turned out to be very very tough (just like billy graham said it would) and Billy being his caring trainer and all, advised him to swiftly move his arse back down to light welter. There would be no point in a rematch because hatton did win fair and square (i know it was close) abd after Collazo there isn't anything else at welter which is plausable. Cotto, Margarito, Baldomir are all far too big and strong for him. Besides fights with Castillo, Corrales and now possibly Witter await him at light welter which are all obviously more appealing.
Hatton aint stupid. He wants that 0 to remain on his record because thats how he is most likely to get to Mayweather. He aint guna risk losing it at Welter, covering old ground. He said himself he doesn;t wanna be boxing past 30 and only see's 5 or so fights left for him, and they look like being, Urango, Castillo, Corrales, Mayweather and maybe Cotto or Witter.
As for sayin he would fight Collazo again, Hatton has admitted that he did sort of just agree to it without thinking and mainly because Collazo wudnt shut up about it and King kept Waving them fucking flags while blurting 'only in America!'
Cool click VD for a decent argument. Ya kept me awake, cheers,
