He was lucky to get the win against MCCallum. Iran Barkely had already been stopped inside 1 against nigel benn. Even when he beat Williams, williams went on to get a technical draw (altho he was well behind) and lose to Merqui sosa in his next 2 (they do say hindsight is 20-20). It just seems to me that he never really did anything spectacular and his record is pretty easy to pick apart. So i'm sitting with ICE COLD on this one, so whilst i give Toney is dues for being a great fighter, i think Calzaghe has a very good chance of beating him.

Calzaghe's punches are just too wide, he just wades in with those wide hooks, it would be hard for Toney to miss him with counters. I mean its not out of the question that Joe would win, obviously Toney's not Mr. Consistency and Calzaghe could win a decision on pure workrate even if he wasn't catching Toney a lot cleanly.
And Taeth and P4PKing are right, Toney didn't just throw one lucky left hook in the 11th against Nunn, he had won 3-4 rounds in a row IMO and was catching Nunn with a lot of right hand counters.

what by saying calzaghe has chance on his best night ?? which he most certainly does toney has been outboxed before im not saying cazlaghe would do this but he has a shot at winning

Calzaghe on a great night against Toney one a bad night...Calzaghe has a good chance. Yes, Toney has had some bad nights, for sure. Toney at his best vs. Calzaghe at his best. Not even close. Toney wins. Average Toney vs the best of Calzaghe, I'll still take Toney. If they fight 10 times, Toney wins 8 or 9.
