Tua bottled the fight with Lennox Lewis !
He came into the fight full of bluster red hot many people believing he'd win felt Lennox's power and stood off !!
He fought scared the entire fight and really let Lennox dominate him in 1st gear !
I remember one commentator calling it a silent pact , Tua let Lewis dominate without letting him knock him out .
Lewis didnt put full weight behind his right because if he missed he knew he'd be giving tua the only oppurtunity to win ie the counter left hook .
Rahman did exactly what you needed to do to Lewis , take him out of his comfort zone make him rush , to do this you need to take a few but Hasim was willing to make that sacrafice and he won the fight .

Yes Tua "bottled" against LL, rounds 1-3 were dictated by Tua and according to one judge won by David...Then David went into a shell, some say it was a rib injury but who knows...As far as a "silent pact" doesn't apply here that implies "I won't hityou if you don't hitt me" and is usually dipicted by a "hug-fest" but LL was putting the leather to David never decreasing his punch output...I agree that Lennox didn't go for the kill but that's because he didn't need to, it always been LL's style to play it safe...Lennox did hit Tua pretty GD hard though and Tua never moved...LL was always wary of Tua so he did what he had to without putting himself in too much danger..LL is an ATG and while Tua's loss was lopsided it was still to an ATG...Peter being stopped in his tracks by James Toney cannot even compare....
In Rahman-Lewis 1 it was more of a case of Rahman fighting an ill prepared Lewis than anything else and the 2nd fight is evidence of that...
Regarding Tua-Peter, Sam Peter has NONE of the attributes that give Tua problems ie. Height, Movement or a great jab...This fight would be fought right in Davids "wheelhouse" and Sam Peter would never be the same afterward...a brutal KO win for David "The Terminator" Tua....never liked the "Tuaman" thing.

I have visions of Tua shipping like he did in the rematch with Rahman .
In his prime i'd take Tua allday long over Peter but Tuas too long in the tooth and has to many bad habbits to suddenly turn it round .
I think any decent heavy that gets their tactics right beats Tua , he was a dangerous come from behind fighter , Rahman and Maskaev he was well behind on the cards untill he pulled it out for which he deserves credit .
The point remains though he was and is a lazy fighter entertaining yes, rock hard chin yes, punch power yes !
But that was over 6 years ago since then he has done nothing his skills will have eroded .

Heres something for ya, Tua is making about 20-30 thousand to fight in the these tune ups in the States, Shane Cameron who fought last night & scored a chilling one punch KO of Bob Mirivic has offered Tua a quarter of a million to fight. But guess what Tua's running scared... from a guy with only 18 fights. I'm sorry to say but Tua is finished.
By the way Cameron won last night after breaking his right hand in the 1st rd, very impressive display of heart!!! Cameron is NZ's best current heavyweight!

Running scared because he won't fight Cameron or is it being smart? Tua is calling out all of the top 10 fighters and no one wants any fighting Shane does nothing for him and at 34 he has got to take fights that make sense...remember the goal is a title belt and all of the $$$ that goes with it, if Shane can earn a top 10 ranking then David will fight him...Let Cameron earn his bones by fighting up the ranks like Tua did, so far Shane has nothing in his record that would indicate he's earned it...If you look at the big picture the only one that has anything to gain by a Tua -Cameron fight is Cameron it won't elevate David in the rankings or get him the title shot he's looking for...again let Shane fight his way up like David did.
Tua's last five fights were against fighters with a combined 85-25 record. Shane Cameron's last five fights were against guys with a combined 72-38 records...Even the quality of the fighters a Fat Tua is fighting is better than what the great Shane Cameron is fighting...like I said let Cameron earn his shot.

Look @ the records of their opponents Cameron his only had 18 fights! Tua's on the comeback trail... & in my opinion fighters should fight the best available compitetion. Cameron is considered the best current NZ heavyweight. Tua needs to fight Cameron if he wants to be taken seriously again!

Fat Tuna - Dolphin friendly, high in protien and essential oils that help with reading and mechanics that sort of thing
Personally i love Red Salmon with a little vineger and black pepper on small bits of brown toast and a glass of Red wine .
I'd love to be a bear catching those Salmon as they swim up river to spawn .
Apperently the bears will only eat the Brains and the Eggs because they are the most nutritious in times a plenty .
Seems like bit of a waste although Caviar does appeal to me
I'd like to see a fight between a Grizzly bear and Lion , it'd be fkin carnage !!
Tigers although the same size as Lions would usually best a Lion because of their better reflexes ( ambush hunters )

If i could be a cat for one day i'd have to be a Tiger so beautifull all those lovely patterns plus they love a good swim whereas Lions hate Water .
There are Marsh Lions though , they have adapted to flooded Marshland and use it to ambush Prey .

I think young TUa destroys Peter, but right now its vice virsa. Tua hasn't foughten a real legitimate opponent in a long time, and hasn't done anything to make me think he can handle Peter right now.

I think Tua and Peter prime for prime would have made a terrific and brutal fight. I honestly could not pick the winner with much confidence.
I feel Peter was the better boxer and had a weight advantage but Tua had such good chin and stamina/output as evidenced by his fight with Ibeabuchi.
Both warriors would have made excellent competition for prime Tyson. Whilst Tyson had the edge on them in defence, speed and skillset, Tua and Peter were much heftier and durable imo.

Bumped a six year old thread to say a "prime" Sam Peter beats Tua, or Tyson? Either of those guys anywhere near their best would have Peter out in a few rounds, he doesn't even pose a threat imo.

Tua is literally a hungry fighter that is too heavy to leave the dinner table and it's hard to be ambitious or aggressive when you are at this location too long. Peters is a winner if they fight only because he spends less time at the training table and if I remember correctly from my last meal, beef ribs can't run from anyone if they are weighed down with barbeque sauce. Tua's mindset is exactly what will make him lose always pointing out that he needs more work. He ain't ready mentally and his best days are behind him because when your best days are behind you and you aren't learning how to pace yourself and use lateral movement even if it's sparse, You lose and I used to think he had potential but what do I know, I am just a fan and I don't want to see Tua hurt unnecessarily.
