I disagree. A win for Taylor would be massive. A win for Calzaghe would only bring critism for fighting a middleweight who has looked average to poor in his last 2 fights.

It's early stages of negotiations guys, at the moments no ones ducked anyone. Frank's done an offer of $4m which I'm sure is not the highest he's willing to go, while Taylor's said $10m which I'm sure is not the lowest he's willing to go, it's why they call it negotiating.
Taylor is training for a fight at the moment so Im sure the serious negotiating will start after Spinks is out of the way.
Hope this fight does take place, Im as big a fan of Joe as anyone here, but he really, really, really needs a big a fight next, no more waiting, he's not got long left.
in that case it's time to face kessler. ;D
oh man.
taylor is officially ducking calzaghe as he knows he won't get 10m.
calzaghe should just fight kessler or jones
JT has priced himself out but can you blame him? Moving up in weight, going to the guys' backyard etc. JT has already proved his willingness to fight the best, fighting B Hop and Winky back to back, and I'm not evenJT fan. Joe C needs to show some balls and fight Stateside.
Fen,I don't know if it was in that article but it's almost certain that if JC does not fight Taylor,he'll be fighting Inkin!!!! What a LET DOWN! The ball is entirely in Warren's court. You can't ask Taylor to come to Britain, move up in weight AND take the $4 mill offered which is a joke becuase JT could easily make more than that fighting in his own hometown.
Anyone care to bet me there was an international TV rights rider slipped in to Warrens 4 Mill offer?
Anyone want to further bet me on how hard Taylor's manager Lou"Creator Of HBO's Boxing After DarK"DiBella laughed when he saw it?
No doubt your right, that Frank Warren has shown us he can generate big dollars putting up complete stinker events.. The real issue is, how much is Calzaghe making for these matchups?? Probably far from what Taylor has been making his last few fights... It just seems to me like Joe is content to hide behind Warrens shoulder and continue to be his cashcow, without likely getting big dollars himself.. Who cares what his promoter can rake in for some BS night of boxing, Joe should be seeking out the big fights himself. He should be chomping at the bit and demanding Warren get him a big fight.. But the more I think about it, I think he may have the same mindset as Frank... Just stay in Wales, fight whoever, long as I can draw a good crowd and make good money.. Does HE really even care about his legacy??Quote:

Really put it into perspective. $4mil isn't enough? I agree with negotiating to try for more, but seriously, would you turn down $4mil?
The world doesn't end if Taylor loses, I would go to wales for $4mil anyday. I'll fight Joe, Taylor, and Bhop back to back for $4Mil.
If you had more belts youd travel to the guys home turf,go up in weight, and agree to less money then youd make in the states?Quote:

You say the world doesn't end if Taylor loses, but if he get's dominated, what then?? He basically loses a lot of stock, for what is an average payday for him.. He'll have a lot of trouble making even 4 million ever again if he went to Wales and got his ass whipped.. It's all business, doesn't seem like your thinking this through much.Quote:

I don't think so...Warren just lost another out/excuse not to fight Kessler...the real fight that should be happening....Quote:

Setanta are said to be interested, but again for less money as well as it being a very little used package in the UK that few will pay for just for frank warrens boxing meaning his fighters also lose alot of exposure.
no...Taylor wants some insurance for fighting in Joe C's home town.....He is not going to get a fair decision, crowd or atmosphere....If he is giving everything up to be in the most hostile place for him give him the money.....or fight in Vegas for 4 mil....Vegas is pretty neutral.....Quote:
