Tito's a very good fighter but Hearns would have KO'd him. He knew how to jump on a guy and Tito's chin was there to be hit.
Lol... You mention tito's chin ..
What about hearn's
it took a long hard time to actually hurt tito.. And he was still up at nine..
hearns however didnt have a terrible chin..But it wasnt strong..
mate,
I didn't say Tito had a bad chin. I said "his chin is there to be hit" as shown by his deckings against lesser lights such as Anthony Stephens, Yori Boy Campas, Oba Carr and Kevin Lueshing - none of whom were in Hearns class in terms of power punching.
I actually think Tito had a decent chin once he got over Welter.
However, as a welter, Tito got caught often and early and I don't think there'd be any getting up for him against Hearns, who started fast and was especially dangerous against big hitters.
A case of styles make fights and this one has short night for Hearns all over it.

Thats cool..
Opinions is opinions..
Damn that shit was hard to type last night.. I was foooooooked

Trinidad would get knocked the f@ck out, and knocked the f@ck out very early. One thing about Trinidad that's a huge misconception is that he was a knockout puncher. Trinidad was a great finisher, not a knockout puncher, he never took anyone out with one shot. Hearns did almost all the time. Also, Felix's chin wasn't a fraction as good as Hagler's, who had the greatest chin in the history of the sport. The straight right that Hagler ate in the first round that split his head wide open would have sent Tito out on a stretcher.

::** I can tell you have seen alot of tito..
No he was not a knockout puncher was he?..
See Trindad vs
- Lueshing
- Blocker
- Garcia
- Joppy
- Vargas
- Waters
And those are just his more punishing/brutal ko's
Not a knockout puncher.. 42-2 with 35 Ko's.. How did you come to this conclusion?

PLEASE, PLEASE, try to read alittle better. I said 'HE NEVER TOOK ANYONE OUT WITH ONE SHOT. Saying that is saying he doesn't have one punch knockout power, I'm not saying he doesn't have power. And sorry, but I've seen every fight you just mentioned, and not a single one of them was a one punch knockout. You saying some of them were brutal KOs is the exact same thing as me saying he was a great finisher. The fact remains though that Trinidad did not hit harder than Marvin Hagler, and Hearns lasted 3 rounds with him. In order for Tito to have a chance against Hearns, he'd have to go at least that long without tasting that straight right, and with Trinidad's defense (or lack thereof), I think you and I both know that ain't happening.
Re: Prime Tito Trinidad vs Prime Thomas Hearns 147
So were talking one punch kos then what were lueshing, blocker and joppy then?
Fact is you are grossly underrating trinidad
Re: Prime Tito Trinidad vs Prime Thomas Hearns 147
Good fight, but I'm kind of shocked that people think Tito has the better beard. Hearns may have gotten knocked out by Hagler, but for three rounds he went to war with him like nobody else ever dared to. It could be a great fight, but Tito's got factors against him. Not only is he a late starter, but he gets knocked down early frequently, moreso in his prime than later.
I like Tito, but I'm a big Hearns fan. Even putting that aside, I don't think Tito would be able to survive the onslaught after the first knockdown, whichever round it comes in.

dude, here's the entire Maurice Blocker fight man. Can you please explain to me how someone can call this a one punch KO, considering the fact that tito pummels him with like 5 or 6 shots before he goes down ???

Re: Prime Tito Trinidad vs Prime Thomas Hearns 147
My opinion on this is that if Hearns decided to box he would get an easy UD. But if Hearns decided to fight then it would be a replay of Hearns - Hagler that lasted a bit longer and had more KDs with Tito finishing Hearns in 6 or 7.
The way I see it. Nobody could go toe to toe with Tito and expect to win. Too many people tried it and they all failed. Among them some pretty big pounchers as I listed in another post.
Hearns on the other hand was beaten at his own game by both Hagler and Leonard. I know both of these guys are all time greats, but the fact remains that that never happend to Tito, not once. The only men to beat Tito were defensive minded fighters who out boxed him

A one punch knockout doesnt have to be first shot in the first round ffs..
The fact of the matter is its one round, Maurice didnt have to go through rounds and rounds of punishment..
The shot that did him was one left hook and he was out on his feet with his eyes closed.. Thats the one punch..
You can blatantly see he is already as good as on his face as he starts to fall..But its fair game that tito nails him twice more on his way down

Tito, that's not a one punch knockout. If what you explained is your definition of a one punch knockout, then every single knockout that occurs is a one punch knockout. Trinidad-Blocker isn't one of them.
Re: Prime Tito Trinidad vs Prime Thomas Hearns 147
Guys don't take thing so literal. Ok so Tito does not literally have one punch KO power. But when you go so literall with this definition then who is? If you want to hear it another way than, Tito is a one punch momentum shifter. I mean look at the Reid fight. Reid was outboxing Tito and winning the fight but all it took was one punch from Tito and that fight was over. It don't matter that Reid went on to finish the fight, he was done, it was over, that was it, he was not coming back from that one and got KDed 4 times in two rounds all because of that first punch.

That's a good summary.
Re: Prime Tito Trinidad vs Prime Thomas Hearns 147
I liked both fighters and their styles and they both achieved a helluva lot.
Hearns was outboxing Sugar Ray Leonard for the majority of their fight so could do the same to Trinidad and Hearns bombs would be to much for Tito.
Hearns was also quicker than Tito.
As good as Trinidad was- I just can't see him beating "The Hitman"
Re: Prime Tito Trinidad vs Prime Thomas Hearns 147
Tito was great but he proved time after time he could be hurt. If and when Tommy hurt him he is not going to let him get back in the fight because he had that killer instinct and was a great finisher. It would be good one, a good ol slugfest but i think hitman would have beat him inside 8 rounds.
