Thats frightening power my man. Roy might stay away for a few rds, but eventually he would get hit by something big and Roy's chin is soft.....so you do the math.

Well Roy was 15 years into his career at that time and 35 years old. He had much slower foot movement and had drained himself by shaving off all that muscle coming back down to 175. A 35 year old Jones shaving off 20 lbs of muscle is not a prime Jones.
You don't have to sell me on Marciano's power. We all know the Rock hit like a mule. But like someone stated above, Jersey Joe easily outboxed the guy for 13 rounds, and Walcott was a LOT slower than Jones, both in hand and foot speed. I don't think Marciano would be able to land that one knockout shot. Many who were MUCH faster than the Rock have found themselves swinging at air against Jones.

marciano was blind 4 half the fight--when he got his sight back -he won rounds. anyway what good does it do 2 outbox a guy if your gonna get ktfo anyway?
Re: ROY JONES PRIME (190LBS) vs rocky marciano (190lbs)
i would want RJJ to win the fight but one thing you wouldn't want to let the rock feel or discovered is that you have a glass joe. once exposed it will just fuel rocky and i doubt rjj is gonna survive relentless attacks from marciano. he doesn't against tarver i just don't feel he has better chance from the rock.
Re: ROY JONES PRIME (190LBS) vs rocky marciano (190lbs)
If it were set for 12 rounds, maybe Jones. But set it for 15 rounds and I think Marciano by clean cut knock out. Hell that would be the only way he would win.

As a few people have said earlier. What makes you think Marciano's skin would hold up? That is a big part in this fight. Marciano was good but he stopped fighting right before he would have had to fight guys like Johansen and Patterson. And then Liston. Good fighter and great power, but Jones was a bit too sharp.

O0 I totally agree. in a 12-rounder, Jones moves, sticks and outboxes the rock and keeps him from settin and throwin the big punch, more importantly, if he does happen to get one off, prime RJJ makes sure Rock doesnt land it...however in a 15 rounder a la the 1950's era fights that Marciano reigned supreme in, you never know; if Roy was to tire he could be outworked and Marciano may be able to jump on him and take advantage of an opening like he did when he took the title in the 13th round from Joe Walcott. It comes down to conditioning...is Jones fast enough to move and work to keep a constantly pressing, slugging bull like Marciano off him for a full 12 rounds? Probably. Can he do it for 15? Probably not.
Re: ROY JONES PRIME (190LBS) vs rocky marciano (190lbs)
....as I said before, it depends on how big the ring is
Re: ROY JONES PRIME (190LBS) vs rocky marciano (190lbs)
people do with Marciano what they do with Duran. Sort of overrate him.. Duran is overrated at lightweight and Marciano at heavyweight.
Re: ROY JONES PRIME (190LBS) vs rocky marciano (190lbs)
I'd prob bet on Roy. So long as he keeps moving out of range the entire fight I see no real issues for him. If Roy stubs his toe on the canvas it's curtains. One error and Marshyanal would end it in a quickness.
