Lyle my man.....they already made one "The Great John L". Seen it on the AMC channel yrs ago. They should make one on Dempsey, not that weak ass made for T.V. movie starring the Prince in the City actor, I forget his name. Show him penniless riding the rails, fighting in mining camps and saloons for food and board, fighting other Hobo's for his life. A real ferocious guy to becoming the toast of the sports world, even when in his Seventies he knocked out 2 would be muggers in N.Y.C. That would be a true rags to riches story.
Re: Boxing movies i think should be made
....that movie was made in 1945 and since it's no classic film like "On The Waterfront" so it should be not remade but revisited.
Plus it would be neat to have someone choreograph the fight scenes in the propper manner, as boxing was waaaaaaay different back then especially the 'American Style' of boxing
Re: Boxing movies i think should be made
Boxing movies about fighters never have done well have they? Usually the movies to do well have been movies about fictitious characters
Re: Boxing movies i think should be made
They change so much about the real fighters that it is a fiction.
Re: Boxing movies i think should be made
The thing about a Tyson movie.
It is kind of not neccesary since every moment of his real life was captured on film anyway, just watch Beyond the Glory and you can see the real thing ,
but yea i would like to see a movie anyway :)
Re: Boxing movies i think should be made
....if UFC was smart at marketing (which it kind of is) they'd make a movie about some bad ass learning his way up the ladder.
I wouldn't watch it even in theory because they'd get Van Damme or some prick like that to be the lead

They'd have trouble with that because then they'd actually have to have exciting fight scenes to sell the movie ;D
I dunno i think they've done just about every approach to a boxing movie that you could have. There's enough cliched movies about some bum who pulls the upset of a lifetime and all that. I think a good reality check about a bum getting anihilated by a far superior boxer would do people good. And before you say anything Danny G i also support casting manfredo in the role of the bum :P
Re: Boxing movies i think should be made
