Colin Lynes v Barry Morrison, British Light Welterweight Title,RBR

Round 10:

Morrison coming forward with a body shot, and a glancing left hook, but Lynes slips out of it. Morrison still being caught with javbs, but looking to get inside, and misses with a wild left hook that didn't come within a foot of Lynes.Lynes with a jab and left hook, and Morrison can't get into range. A body shot for Morrison costs him a jab and hook in getting inside. Morrison clinches, and Lynes is the one throwing shots still. Morrison really wants this title, but needs to catch Lynes with some massive shots now. Lynes is still circling the ropes, popping of jabs and stragith shots. AS they stand together, Lynes pings in two body shots.

Round 11:

I need to pee, but I'm sure I can hold on 6 minutes. All sacrifices in the name of the game eh. Lynes is opening up with his jabs, but misses with a hook and Morrison slams in a right hook with the opening. No doubt Morrison is the strongest of tje two fighters, and gets inside with two body hooks, but Lynes wisely clinches. Lynes not throwing too much, as he looks to evade Morrison. Straight right lands from Morrison, and a left hook as Lynes comes in. Lynes clinching a little more now. Morrison not coming forward as a man needing a KO though, and although he lands a body shot, Lynes pings back two jabs.

Round 12:

It's desperate measures time for Morrison, but as he flings in a wild hook, gets caught by Lynes. Morrison with big wide shots, though not getting too close so gar. Good flurry from Morrison, as two short hooks land on Lynes. Lynes clinches, then works the Morrison body. Jabs from Lynes, but Morrison hooks well. Big right shot from Morrison, but Lynes hooks then clinches, rattled there. Morrison fails to capitalise. Good right again from Morrison. one minute. Lynes clinches well again. Lands a right of his own. Right hook from Morrison, and then punches while in the clinch. Lynes lands two hooks, and although Morrison is brave, he's lacked the class.

I felt I had to stand and face him at times, especially in front of his own crowd, who were brilliant, and I had to gain his respect."

I wasn't 100% confident, so I went pretty low, but I thought that he would have too much and be able to stay away from the Morrison roughness and power.

Good fight on the undercard, with Damian Owen v Pedro Verdu of Venezuela, and Owen came in with a low defence, and a massive right hook put him straight on his arse. AS he stumbled about he just beat the count, Verdu pounced with a number of big hits before the ref stepped in to stop the Swansea fighter (now 8-2), and giving Verdu his first win since 2004.
