well i heard that right now he's one of Winky Wright's main sparring partners for Hopkins, read it also in the Mosley retiring soon interview, but i think that Trinidad has a chance, but he has to be completely focused, and sorry to say it boot his dad to assistant trainer if anything and find a new trainer that can give him a bit of a different look at things

This sparring partner stuff is odd to read about. That is like Hearns being Hagler's sparring partner for Leonard before Ray fought Marvin. Actually I think had Hearns been Marvin's sparring partner, Marvin would have been so sharp for Ray he would have beaten Ray. Now I know some will say different style, but Hearns sparring Marvin would have sharpened him up. it is rare to have great fighters spar each other.

Aalong as Tito avoids the defensive guys like Hopkins , Spinks , Floyd and Winky , I think he will be in some good fights and will add some spice . Put him in the right fights and Tito can be a superstar all over again .
Re: Tito Trindad Theres A 50-50 Chance I Come Back To Boxing
Who cares if he comes back really????
Let's put this into perspective for a moment....
Was he good when he was active and around? Yes!...Pound for pound top 10 and always exciting...
But truth is....
Tito did not act like a true champion or warrior.....So what you got beat by Hopkins no shame in that the guy is one of the top 3 mw of all time and is one of the top 5 of our era....Winky Wright is a defensive master maybe the best defensive fighter of the last 15 yrs....But we QUIT!!!!...and there is no other words for it.....QUIT!!!!! because he lost...Took his ball home to Daddy and pouted in the back yard until he wanted to play again...Next time he lost he did the same thing.....
I lost all respect for him.....Sorry and I know the Tito fans will SC away but you know what.....
Tito had no problem in relishing in victory and claiming his greatness and when he came up short could not deal with it.....
This is not a great champion...Great Champions accept their losses and bounce back.....B-Hop lost twice to Taylor and could have retired at 41 with no shame but instaed he went two divisions up and won a LH title.....Gatti has bounced back from defeat more times then a room full of superballs....
When De La Hoya loses he comes back to challenge a better fighter or claim a new title ect...That is a champion....It is more then wins and titles that earn respect.....Trinidad threw that away after the Winky loss....I forgave to Hopkins retirement stint figuring he just needed time to deal with it and rebuild...Second time shows what the true nature of the man has deep inside
Felix stay retired.....I will put my attention towards guys who deserve admiration....Plenty of up and comers wanting the respect you once had and are wqilling to take their lumps in the process....
Matter of fact one of them is fighting for a title tonight on HBO and after the shellacking he took from Cotto my hat goes off to him for jumping right back in the pool...Maybe Trinadad should take some notes

exactly. In boxing whether fighters like to admit it or not, styles make fights and some guys cannot fight certain styles. One fighter I think whom Cotto could not beat if he moved up to 154 pounds is Winky Wright. Stylewise the power of Cotto would not work. Winky would not make it into the fight which gets Cotto a chance to win. Winky would keep it a boxing lesson and win a boring decision.
Re: Tito Trindad Theres A 50-50 Chance I Come Back To Boxing
If he does he should stay away from the top pure boxers of his division whatever division that is. He should stay retired though imo he will never be ranked #1 again

he feels left out probably with all his buddies still fighting. I always thought Shane would be good style for Tito to beat. Cotto vs. Tito of 1998 would have been a good fight. I would have gone with Tito who had the same type of chin. The type of guys who gets hurt but usually survives.

Yeah i think youre right about Mosley but it may be too late for Tito. Prime for prime I think Tito would have probably beat him.
Re: Tito Trindad Theres A 50-50 Chance I Come Back To Boxing
I'm curious about what Wright hopes to learn from Tito in terms of fighting Hopkins.
Yes, Tito has fought Hopkins but it's not like he figured him out. :)
Not that it's bad to have Tito as a sparring partner, just that how in particular does this prepare Winky for Hopkins' style, etc?

I do also. Shane would have been right in the path of Tito's punches. Funny how Winky beat both those guys. If Winky Wright beats Hopkins his resume will start to look pretty good. Better than Oscar Delahoya's resume.

What about Tito vs. Taylor? Taylor mixes it up more than Hopkins would and that would be to Tito's advantage.

Wow! What a fight this would be. This would be a fight! 2 proud fighters who come to fight! It doesn't get any better than that!
I don't usually like local fighters fighting each other, but I must admit.... it would be an intriguing matchup. I think Tito's power would tough for Cotto to absorb.
Yeah. Tito has the power for 12 rounds. That is dangerous. Only fighters that are deffensive minded like Hopkins and Winky are the ones who can beat Tito. That is it. Cotto is not deffensive minded and that would be a big factor. Although, Tito has no chin either...............hmmmmm. makes you think?
Tito has no chin?!? You lost me there. Did you see the Tito-Vargas fight? Did you see Tito-Hopkins? Where Tito absorbed a beating over 11 rounds before finally going down? Where does the "no chin" comment come from?
No chin? Most of Tito's knockdowns where "flash knockdowns" or him being stunned. Only legitimate knockdown where he was really hurt wer against B-Hop. I say, he has a decent to good chin.
I love Tito but please dont comeback... :( :( :(

As bad as this sound, and as big of a Tito fan I am. I can't exactly deny some of the things said here. But this is all speculation. We don't really know what is going on inside his head. So we have no way of knowing why he retired.
I would like to see more but I have mixed emotions about his return, if it does happen.
