the ricky hatton fans tonight at the thomas and mack center was a bit ridiculous!
WTF was up with the ricky hatton college band playing football fight tunes all night during the fight? is that shiiit legal? lol how come no other fighter has ever done that before? u know have their own band playing all throughout the fight? like that?
his hard core fans was singing WINTER WONDERLAND but changed the lyrics to RICKY HATTON LAND? UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM thats pretty gay son im sorry.
i think rickys great for the sport over all, but i guess its a cultural thang cuz us cocky american bastards dont have that kind of solidarity to sing christmas songs at the top of our lungs even when its F'n christmas time??? let alone for our favorite athletes?
ricky put the smack down on castillo tonight. castillo looked finished from about the first 5seconds into the fight.
that body shot was hard to the core.
notice how castillo took a knee and was frozen unlike some other fighter whos name rhymes with FOSCAR who jumped up and down and rolled around the ground when he SUPPOSEDLY got hit by bernard hopkins. ;)
all and all EXCITING fight tonight! i was entertained!
but i thought only us americans were FAT tho? i see alot of you UK are also fat bastards?????? well atleast the ones who showed up tonight at the thomas and mack center!
jolly good job well done mr. ricky hatton!
that was gangsta of him to call out PBF like that saying tonight was more exciting than PBF's whole career!!!!! :o
lets hope PBF has a good rebuttle ;)
GOD BLESS,
im off to clock some dimes
at WAR ROOM tonight
HOLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAR
It was a great performance. End of. "Castillo looked finished from the first 5 seconds"??? Please dont give me that. That 3rd round could have gone either way. Castillo was trying to get into it. Hatton was intense. Its a tough job for any fighter to get through that ferocity and non stop come at you style.
As for the crowd. Well, so what?! They added life and character to the proceedings. Nothing wrong with going out and making a night of it. They were on holiday and were having a good time. Fair play to them, I say!
And are you insinuating that the body shot was not for real?! ::**
You usually post something interesting, but what a load of crap! ::**
Enjoy your dimes?! ???
Re: I LOVE my UK BROS/SIS BUT...................
You know it's a fucked up day when people start complaining about fans chanting for their fighter. WTF? ???
They paid for the seat, they payed for the flight, they paid for the entire trip and spent their hard earned money....
I find this hard to understand really..... Or Am I missing something. :(
Re: I LOVE my UK BROS/SIS BUT...................
Overall it was an excellent event. What can I say?... I got entertained. It was like Christmas in June especially for loud and proud die hard Hatton fans. Congrats!
Many people saw the very prime Hatton, and the very worn-out shot fighter Castillo.

No, I agree with you completely. :coolclick:
There are some serious stick in the muds on this thread. Lighten up ya stifling bores! :-X
Re: I LOVE my UK BROS/SIS BUT...................
CC Mick. I agree with everything you have said. In the face of "boxing is dead" and everyone worried about that sort of thing......we have an exciting sport with excited fans and real thrills. And all people can do is shit on it. HBO shit on it. I get tired of the cynicism. Hatton fought the toughest fighter at 140 (which is where he should fight). Just look at the Ring magazine, he fought the number one contender. His fans and himself did everything right tonight, yet they are still being ridiculed.

and floyd's fight with oscar was better imo...
I would take Ricky's worst performance over Floyd's worst performance anyday. At least with Ricky there is a possibility you will get an exciting performance (tonight was one of those) but floyd's is a guranteed snoozefest
i seriously doubt that..because on floyd's worst night he'd probably be in a fight where he might be endanger of losing and i think that might make for better drama and excitement than a hatton wrestling match...

Come on BestP4P that was fwocken great!!!! I was singing meself along with them!!!
We just didn't know all the lyrics to the songs...
I love the English mates they my kind of people cheering! on and just happy go lucky....
I like when they do the soccor cheer and the song about only being one Ricky Hatton was a bit amusing but.....
The band should not have been allowed......
1. This is not pro wrestling and that is where that crap belongs...
2. IMO it is an unfair distraction to the other fighter
Why not horns, drums and all that is part of sports period.
Drums, horns and chants have gone along with all sports for years.
I love the way the Hatton fans do that I think it's great and talk about living in the moment. Ricky himself loves it and thats the way the Hatton fans show up to support their man.
Name another fighter who has playing bands, and chants made for him?
Not even the most popular boxer ever has that.
Hey I am all for any showmanship or antics on the way to the ring.....But not during the fight....
Once that bell rings all I want to hear is whats going on in the fight not the marching band when ever they feel like having an outburst of the trombone.Sorry but once the fight starts it is business time......They dont play the band at football games while the ball is in play....

Re: I LOVE my UK BROS/SIS BUT...................
But thats just it Daxx, football is football and if boxing ever wants it's own face and own look then why not?
It's definetely different and gives the sport a new spin on it...
I don't know I mean hearing the chants was something refreshing! like when I heard the Pac fans singing along to Pac song.....
Or when JCC fans would chant Chavez! Chavez! Chavez!
I mean Hatton fans are just a level above everyone...
But I guess to each it's own....

They make a noise and play what they want at an english football/soccer game. In fact many of the boxing bouts have rowdy audiences too. Its never been a problem.
Once the bell rings then it is business time for the boxers too. Im sure they are focussed on the job in hand rather than "hmm...I wonder what is that oddball number playing out there?". Boom. Thwack. "Oops, I got knocked out!" Oops.
They are after all professional sportsmen...
The only sport where I feel it could be a hindrance is possibly golf! Now that would be trying!
