How is it that some people still don't believe in Ricky Hatton?

What did you see ,that I didnt ,what I saw was a opponent that didnt want to fight and didnt even try to get up ,got payed and walked away ,atleast with cotto judah fought his heart out both where cut and beaten up ,lol, well judah was ,the whole thing is the opponent makes the fight and castillo in my eyes was not even an opponent but a blank target waiting to get knocked down ,he simply did not have the tools to work his way through this fight ,when hatton fought in the 147 he didnt impress me and now cause he beat a beaten warrior you want to put him in a peddlestool ,nope it wont happen he needs to beat the top names now ,not wait till they get worn out ,lmao, I know that stragedy what now he beats arturo gotti and you gonna praise him also ,its the same thing floyed has done hand pick broken gladiaters who once where ,lol, .

I can see what your saying, i just dont think Castillo can be effective against a strong 140 lber like Hatton like he was at 135, shot or not, it's killing boxing these match ups, you cant just dis Hatton and Floyd for never fighting peak fighters, Cotto's is just as guilty nearly all Boxers are but when you have two guys at there peak the politics are usaully a nightmare to make these fights happen. Hopefully in the next 12/18 months we see Cotto- Hatton Cotto-Mayweather or Mayweather-Hatton the fans deserve these fights.

I don't think it is that he does not deserve praise. It is that we have seen guys look great before and then they crash hard and we put all these expectations on them. Remember Donald Curry? Mike Tyson? Although Mike did materialize. Donald Curry was seen as unbeatable and then he was beaten by Lloyd Honeyghan and Mike McCallum within a year of each other. So that is why we have to be cautious of saying Ricky is the greatest thing we have seen. There is a Lloyd Honeyghan or a Buster Douglas opponent maybe who will beat Ricky Hatton soon.

we all hope that Ricky can be the fighter we all think he might. but like I said, look at Curry and McGuigan and even Camacho.. Guys who we thought were so good and they crashed.

He is an excessive holder and he will not be liked because of the excessive holding. If he quits holding, he will be liked.

I gotta give Hatton credit for the victory over Castillo, he got the job done. Only thing is that excessive holding is illegal! Cortez needed to warn Hatton but instead took a point from Castillo for a low blow. I gotta ask "What about the holding?"

Hatton needs to be respected for where he is & what he has achieved. Victories over possible future Hall of Famers Tszyu & Castillo shouldn't be taken lightly. He didnt just beat 2 future hall of famers he made both of them quit. You say you can see a lot of guys out there who can beat him, well the majority or americans thought castillo would beat him and nearly all the world thought kostya would easily beat him. This thing is with hatton is that he may not look as fluient as some boxers and to have the punch power of others but he still keeps beating opponents and he makes them look so bad that people start to question whether they are shot.

Hatton may not have a style that everyone likes but there is no avoiding the fact that he keeps wiping the floor with these guys. apart from the Urango fight he doenst hold as much as it seems, Watch the fights closely, its just very good/effective inside boxing (with some holding - Im not going to deny that) but to say it is illigal is crap.

hatton has fought in europe, UK and america and he has never had a point deducted for illigal holding so if professional referees throughout the world cannot see in any of his 43 fights that he is doing any illigal holding why is it that some of you think he is?

Ricky Hatton's sumo style of fighting is just plain ugly.

But hey, if it keeps working for him... why not continue winning that way?

See I hate that crap. He wasn't exposed before this fight as being shot. He is shot, because Hatton beat the fight out of him. For a fighter to be shot, somebody has to expose him. Can I ask, if Hatton beat Mosley, would you say Mosley was shot? What about Mayweather beating DLH? Are you telling me that was a prime DLH. It's all bollocks. If a good fighter is beaten consistantly, only then can you truly tell if he is shot.

It's nothing to do with believing and not believing,Hatton is the best at 140 period but I still would favour Margarito/Williams(those 2 especially,because of thier size,strength,energy)Mosley and Cotto over him.
