Re: Poll: If Floyd does fight Hatton, will you.....
I think mosley would be more of a threat but he like mentioned somewhere here seems really really disinterested in fighthing floyd, hatton will be determined to come out and do everything he can to win...I'd give pbf credit for facing anyone of any decent caliber...and not doing a jermaine talylor move and fighting some of the lesser caliber fighters out there calling his name...

At 147,Floyd has too many unresolved issues. We still have yet to see him fight a big strong WW with a punch/speed and this is where Cotto/Margarito/Mosley fit in. Out of those guys,Hatton is the most$$$ for the least risk so again,it's a business manuever.
I would like to see a HattonFloyd fight but I want to see Floyd fight the winner of that tournament much much more..
I agree that the guys at WW pose much bigger threats to Floyd. But those guys (minus Mosley) are all tied up with each other for a while anyway. If he wanted to, Floyd could easily fight Hatton and then fight the winner of Cotto vs. Margarito/Williams six months down the line. The timing is almost perfect.
Re: Poll: If Floyd does fight Hatton, will you.....
i am justhappy that mayweather is fighting again and someone that is a threat its even better
Re: Poll: If Floyd does fight Hatton, will you.....
Definitely applaud him, I'd just be happy to see him fighting. Once he's finished with Hatton Cotto should be ready. I don't see Floyd getting out of the game for a long while yet!

best of them is who exactly...zab is good but hardly best as was corley, torres, and quintana..all good but hardly on floyd's level
I fail to see who Mayweather has beaten since 135, that is really any better than Cotto or Hatton? De La Hoya 5 years ago maybe but not the De La Hoya that threw away the fight they had last month.

Someone not thinking much of Hatton :-\
Because no way will this be a tune up fight and Mayweather won't have it easy either.

Give the guy a break and if he does move up and gets his a*** wooped I will bow down and say I was wrong and the doubters were right!!
There are two different things going on here. Hatton moving up to fight at 147 is one of them. Fighting Floyd is another. What I'm saying is that if Hatton fights Floyd at 147 and gets his a*** beat, it may have nothing in particular to do with the fact that the fight took place at 147.
In order to know how Hatton does at 147, really, he'd have to fight a few fights there, and then the judgment could be made. He didn't have a promising start with Collazo but give him a bye on that.
Your analysis takes the victory away from Floyd and instead gives the credit to the weight class. Subtle but absolutely disrespects Hatton's opponent. As if Floyd is a neutral factor in the mix of things.
He's definitely not ...
Re: Poll: If Floyd does fight Hatton, will you.....
I voted (criticize Floyd for not fighting Mosley (or another welterweight))
HAtton should fight Cotto and PBF has to fight Mosley and then the winner of those will fight eachother
Re: Poll: If Floyd does fight Hatton, will you.....
This "retirement" thing is starting to get a little bit like the "I was poisoned/drugged" thing. Everyones saying it. No one not even Floyd (I don't think) thought he was serious, and no way is SSM serious. It seems to be a way to get good big money fights quickly these days. Soon we'll have guys "retiring" after 2 fights only to go to come out of "retirement" 40 times before they finally hang them up.
But I think its good Floyd is fighting Hatton, an undefeated fighter who is certainly not past his best and IF he wins should get a lot of credit. Then he needs to take on SSM and in my view he will have walked the walk.
Re: Poll: If Floyd does fight Hatton, will you.....
SSM is WAY too big for Hatton. I dont think that is a realistic fight if Hatton won and I wouldnt criticize Hatton for not fighting Mosley.

But there is no way Hatton will win.... Hence a tune up.

The de la hoya of today is a tougher opponent than Hatton. Seriously, to think otherwise, you'd have to pick Hatton in a head-to-head versus De la Hoya. You wouldn't possibly do that, would you? You'd be in a tiny minority if so.
Just so we're clear, "but De la Hoya is way bigger than Hatton" is not a valid response--it only supports the point that for little Floyd Mayweather, De la Hoya was way more of a threat than Hatton would be.
Also, De La Hoya didn't "throw away" anything--he was losing from round 1 on.

I wouldn't even pick Hatton over Mayorga at welter or 154.
Re: Poll: If Floyd does fight Hatton, will you.....
I vote that I will bad mouth Floyd. Only because I see it as another lopsided affair.
Nothing against Hatton (in this case) but Floyd will do the same song and dance he always does and Hatton will find himself helpless.
Re: Poll: If Floyd does fight Hatton, will you.....
Id take my hat off if he agreed to fight Rick as long as a shit purse was not offered....which I think might be the case.
