It's a pretty convincing case tbh.
What people are forgetting is that you do not have to be the most technically gifted fighter to get the number one spot. You just have to be able to beat everybody in your weight class and for that weight class to be regarded as full of brilliance.
also, Hatton would be fighting above his naturally best weight, which gives him an even bigger shout for the number one spot if he wins.
So Hatton's weight class is "full of brilliance"(140) ??? he has yet to fight some of the better WW at 147. And he would be fighting one weight class above his natural weight. Manny Pacquiao started about 3-4 divisions below where he is now,Floyd 5 weights etc etc.
I just don't believe wins over Mayweather,JLC and Tszyu would make him pound for pound number one.
If he KO's Mayweather then that would make 3 P4P's past or current that he has ko'd........
JT has beaten B Hop twice when he was P4P number 1 and drawn with Winky.
and has failed to live up to expectations since.. hasnt ko'd any of his less threatening other opponents since and all three bouts against Winky and b-hop was disputed....Hattons big wins Kostya, JLC was dominate KOs, and ko'd champ maussa in a unfication bout...
Bernard has 20 plus title defences and beat Tarver and may beat Winky.
he LOST TWO DISPUTED MATCHES RECENTLY... i like b-hop but you cant lose twice recently and have a claim at #1 p4p even if they were disputed... taylor won the second pretty easy IMO ..fat tarver wasnt near his best either
Winky beat Tito,Shane twice.
an uninspired, overweight tito, and winky lost to harry simon and vargas.. and drew to taylor
Rafa Marquez has beaten more RING top 10 than all of them and is a multiple weight champ.
????? name them!!!! he has good victories over good opponents but has never ko a p4per and hasnt been in the ring with more than any of the above...
All these names mentioned would still be just as impressive if not more so than Hatton IF he were to beat Floyd.
