He definitely needs work and will never be a great fighter but he's certainly exciting and will doubtless prove to be one of the top draws over the next 4 or 5 years.
:coolclick: back man.
It wasn't as exciting as Duddy's fights usually are, but enjoyable.
You got the feeling he was trying to prolong the stoppage so the Irish fans could see him in action for more than a round or two. He was pawing with the jab a lot and basically throwing lots of arm punches in combinations. Furlan to his credit had a tight defence... no head movement, just had himself well covered with his arms/gloves. Duddy got tagged a lot but Furlan didn't have the power to hurt him at all.
Any time Duddy actually threw shots with power he floored or hurt Furlan.
I agree with you that he will never be a great division dominator (unless something miraculous happens), but he is entertaining at least. A fight with Miranda would be a belter while it lasted, hehe.
I'm just thinking, maybe if they put him in there with Howard Eastman... he is usually a good measuring stick, but maybe he has had his day now.

Thanks for the RBR, Duddy is my favorite fighter. I knew he was gonna whoop that guy, but thanks for the update, sounds like he put on a good show. CC for that.

Nice work Oggz!
:coolclick:
I aint sold on Duddy yet. I think that he's using too much brawn & not enough brains in his game.

CC back!
It was a good show against a very static fighter. I think he could have had him out of there in the first or second round, but as soon as he knocked him down in the first, he just held back... probably to get the rounds in and let the Irish fans see what he can do I reckon.

I agree with you 100%.
He outboxed Furlan up until the stoppage, but Furlan was just so easy to look good against because he has no head or foot movement. I'm hoping Don Turner can teach Duddy to use his brain a bit more than he has up until this point... but I'm not expecting a miracle. ;)
Either way, he will either be awesome entertainment or a decent boxer/brawler. He'll always be a popular sight and if they throw him in there with another brawler, he could be potentially in a few classic wars.
