So much so that i had to reply just to add my general disbelief at the original poster. But more importantly to respond to those more sensible posters who seem to think that any fight between pbf and hatton has to take place at 147 and that if it did it would be a very quick and according to some "one sided" and even "boring". Now first off, how could this fight ever be boring at 147? If hatton wins, shock horror!, then we have an exciting fight no matter what, because pbf will have the cocky attitude beaten out of him and the underdog and working class hero will have been victorious. Even if hatton loses, which most think he will, you'l still get to see pretty boy floyd knock out an unbeaten, pound for pound, 2 weight world champion and cement his evergrowing reputation as the best boxer of the past 20 or so years. But secondly, and more importantly, why wouldnt pbf fight hatton at 140? and why shouldnt he? Floyd being the arrogant sob that he is, would surely get alot more respect by beating hatton at a weight that they both fighters are more comfortable at. Finally, id just like to say that hatton will have a much longer preperation time for a 147 match up against pbf and will (hopefully) be in the best shape of his life and be conditioned properly to fight a fighter that in my opinion suits him down to the ground. Look at the castillo-pbf fights and ask yourself who (out of the current contenders) is most likely and most capable of producing a performance like that against pbf. If hatton gets up in floyds face and closes the ring off fast he can do what castillo did and at least take it to the wire and if he connects like he connected against (an albeit older) castillo then pbf would at least have problems. But will it be boring? one sided? not cared about!!?? i really dont think so...
ps to the guy who doesnt like the booing at national anthems, dont take it personally as anti american or anything, british fans would boo at the kazhakstan national anthem if hatton or whoever british was fighting one of them...its more pantomime booing than anything, not vehemenant hatred
.
Wow that was a pretty long post. I stopped reading at "Im new at this forum..." It's not that u are boring, it's just really late over here in the US lol ;D
Re: Ricky hatton vs Floyd Maywether who cares?
It looks like you are the only one that does not want to see this, based on the feedback...
I am not a big of either, but this is the fight I would most like to see next.
Re: Ricky hatton vs Floyd Maywether who cares?
I wanna see Floyd fight Hatton next. But I think Ricky is asking a bit much for Floyd to make 140. Although thats where I'd like to see the fight take place cause it would be 2 championships on the line! I think Hatton needs Floyd more than Floyd needs Hatton so I don't see Mayweather going any lower than 147.
Re: Ricky hatton vs Floyd Maywether who cares?
Collazo clearly won? De La Hoya was robbed? Go back to whatever planet you're from and watch these fights again.
Re: Ricky hatton vs Floyd Maywether who cares?
What a ridiculous thread. This would be the biggest fight in boxing bar none. But still have my doubts about this happening though. I can see Hatton getting in the ring with Witter or Cotto before Mayweather.

See, bzkfn, according to your reply to this post ( not a particularly nice reply), I would say that I am from your own planet... But the difference between us would be that I can understand whoever claims that Collazo "clearly" won and that ODLH got robbed even though I clearly disagree with those statements, that should prove that I don't claim to be a false boxing genius either...
Re: Ricky hatton vs Floyd Maywether who cares?
I personally think mayweather won and ricky hatton lost
I would love to see de la hoya and Hatton since no one will run away

Miles, Ricky Hatton's rough house fighting segments are convoluted beyond belief and that leaves room for fellows like you to actually believe that cleaner shooter, former champ ( not journeyman) Louie Collazo beat him - that's understandable. The second part of these healthy posts and replies is that Floyd Mayweather's lightning fast counter punching episodes are deconvoluted beyond belief too and that allows reasonable guys like you to actually believe that Hoya's aggressiveness and higher volume of inaccurate punches had the fight won for him - that's understandable too. Simply saying that you have no boxing knowledge and should be seeing these two fights/points from my own perspective could induce someone else to actually believe that I pretend to be a boxing genius ( which I am not)
