Re: Im Shane Mosley Fan But Can Anyone Tell Me His Best Fights ??
I have to disagree brothers,I thought Shane got beaten by Winky pretty easily the second time,it was just that it was more competetive than the first one, giving the impression that it was close. I thought WInky was a clear winner. As for the first Forrest fight,I agree,I think the headbutt REALLY threw Shane off for a while but after that,Vernon's reach and uppercut and that jab(when he decided to use it) damaged Shane. I'm going to watch the second fight tomorrow,I'm sure I scored it pretty closely too.
I think Shane was a beast at lightweight but not so much at the higher weights where although he is fast,he's not as fast as before and he is NOWHERE near as powerful as before! I'm sure I recall his record being 35-0 and 32kos at one point?
I think Shane fighting Cotto is an awesome move and Shane is a warrior, without question but I favour Miguel. :D

I don't know, but it seems to me that Moseley initiates clinches more than ever. He throws combinations and then holds-a lot. Just an observation.
Re: Im Shane Mosley Fan But Can Anyone Tell Me His Best Fights ??
He's an older fighter, uv got to expect him to clinch a bit as he obviously cant have the tank he once had.
Re: Im Shane Mosley Fan But Can Anyone Tell Me His Best Fights ??
I've been seeing Moseley work out and fight since he was 9 years old- we grew up in the same area, though I'm a decade older. I always thought he was special, as did everybody around him. There was no mistaking it. As a lightweight he was incredible; he fought like a fighter from the 1930s or 1940s, the way he bobbed and weaved and worked the body as he went. But that changed once he moved up.
Yeah, he had flashes of his ability in the Rivera, Taylor, Wise and Diaz fights. But his 'greatness' was built on beating up guys that he had overmatched, size-wise or ability wise. When he fought DLH in the first fight, they fought like they were afraid. Great fighters don't fight that way. In their second fight his body punches had DLH ready to fold yet he failed to pursue his advantage. He didn't fight to win against Forrest, he accepted surviving. Same against Winky Wright. Against Vargas, well, blind pigs find acorns. Against Collazzo...
I would love to see him beat Cotto but I don't know. Shane doesn't committ with punches anymore- he slaps with them, the legacy of John David Jackson training him. He flashes a decent right but that vicious hook is dead and gone, except for the pot-shot against Vargas. But, like I said, blind pigs...
Watch Shane's lightweight fights to see how good he was. And I think his fight against Holiday was brilliant. He won 10 of 12 against a guy that was considered the best LW at that point and made him throw 60 punches a round instead of his normal 140. That to me is brilliant. He totally took a capable world champ opponent foe out of his game and won virtually every round.

I didn't think in the Mosley vs Oscar 1 fight they fought like they were scared they fought a great fight it was fantastic prize fight.

As much as i hate to agree with you because im Mosley fan i have to agree Wright won 2nd fight in similar fashion to the 1st Mosley was more spirited and gave it is all but even the rounds that Mosley won were close but Mosley made it tough and i respect Mosley for giving it his all i had Wright the winner by 3 rounds i just watched it again recently i remember when i was younger i had it alot closer probably because i was being biased but still Wright won convincly now at moment im trying to get a hold of Forrest vs Mosley 1 and 2 and Mosley vs Vargas 1 i would like to see 2nd Forrest vs Mosley fight because GAME said that he thought Mosley won i also read a boxing article and they scored it 114-114 so it looked to be controversial and the first fight i watched bits and pieces of it i see the knockdowns they were brutal.
Re: Im Shane Mosley Fan But Can Anyone Tell Me His Best Fights ??
Mosely's hook did dim as he climbed weight divisions. But his ring generalship seemed to grow as he went up. His feet became more planted, he made the opponent react rather than move himself and at every weight he made the opponentrespect his power. Wright was an exceptional fighter, a gifted natural light middle and he simply was a step too far for shane as shane simply couldn hurt him enough to force him to give ground.
Re: Im Shane Mosley Fan But Can Anyone Tell Me His Best Fights ??
The thing I noticed is that as Shane moved up weight classes he stopped throwing so many punch combinations and started to concentrate on what his Dad/Trainer called Power boxing. This meant he was looking to land the harder single knock out punches instead of throwing the fast combinations that he he used at lightweight. Its been his later fights (Jose Luis Cruz/Collazo) when he dropped down a weight again to welterweight and swapped trainers that he went back to more boxing instead of looking for the single knock out punch. Either way having just finished his career set I have to say that he is now one of my favourite boxers and I think he will beat Cotto and hopfully get his shot at PBF.
Re: Im Shane Mosley Fan But Can Anyone Tell Me His Best Fights ??
Well after the Vargas beatdown n the performance against Collazo id tend to favour Mosely against cotto too. I think he'll be far to comprehensive a boxer for the raw cotto.
