I think MAB has the whole nice guy image going on like Oscar but who punched who at the press conference? Who cried robbery after his loss to JMM and made excuse after excuse for his loss to JJ and Manny Pac.Who punched Mckinney at the press conference? Who hit JMM when he was down(and should have been dqed/docked a point)?
Just like I don't buy the Oscar whole i can do no wrong image,same with MAB.It's the whole HBO thing:when you hear Larry Merchant saying MAB invited him for tea,when you hear MAB say he'll root for Morales v Pac but look at some of the incidents I listed. Actions speak louder than words. Morales is made out to be the bad guy but when has Erik tried to hit someone at a press conference or tried to hit someone when they are CLEARLY down?
MAB was the HBO poster boy and got the hype,Morales didnt. And look at the class of Morales,he talked trash about Manny,got beaten and still went to the Phillipines and filmed with the guy that beat him.That's real class.

Well, every time I've seen Eric and Barrera in close proximity to each other, other than inside the boxing ring fighting, it's usually Eric saying despicable things about Barrera and his family. Whereas Barrera usually acts cool and talks neutral about Eric. Maybe it's an act... I don't know. But based on what I've seen, I tend to side with Barrera.
(Besides, Barrera won my everlasting admiration when he beat the stuffing out of Prince Naseem).

When you put it like that, it's hard to disagree.... LOL. Again, my perception has always been based on incidents where it's Eric lashing out at Barrera. I think it was after either their 1st or 2nd fight, where I saw Barrera trying to be civil to Morales... and Morales had to be restrained by his corner. Again, sometimes perceptions can be skewed if you don't have all the facts.
But THIS is the way I like to argue.... civilly and with respect. Have a well-earned CC for that, my friend.

CC back brother. I totally agree,it's about preceptions too but the difference is,people like us and others are smart enough to know when we are being shown manufactured crap. I may not have all the facts either but to me,that is what it looks like.

I just saw the clip of Barrera taking a swing at Morales at a press conference (or publicity event?), and I gotta admit... it surprised me. I haven't seen that side of MAB too many times. Even so, he's still one of my alltime favorite Mexican fighters.

You talking about HBO or thing sin general? 'coz i never seen anyone try to make barrera out to be some kind of good guy in boxing tbh... it's no secret he can fight dirty, and is very hot headed... We all know HBO is full of shit, i didn't think anyone listened to them anyhow lol?

watch jmm vs mab hbo version, count how many times they mention mabs name and how long they ignore jmm. listen how they hype up marco while jmm gets very little mention.

Exactly! And that is just one example. Preme,if you honestly don't think HBO don't hype Barerra,you need to see more of his fights there. I can think of lots of examples of them kissing up to him,showing his good side etc.

I have observed this too. There's too much hyping on BArrera while they are forgetting JMM.

Ofc HBO do... he sells their PPV's that's expected i said they are full of shit and no body pays them any attention anyhow... but in general outside of HBO i never seena nyone make barrera out to be some kind of saint.

I think Erik will be a very bitter old man just like Larry Holmes . He still hasnt got over teh Barrera losses and is now coming to the ring with Pac . The guys has issues . Pretty sad really :-\
