Re: Floyd-Ricky 24/7 series!
That was my only gripe with Ricky, that he covers the same ground a lot of the time in his interviews but I left the London press conference today a bigger fan of his. He is good with one liners, rather than in interviews. His one liners were actually annoying Floyd today it was quite funny.
Floyd and Ricky when they get together bring the best out of each other personality wise.

Hatton may come across boring at times but Floyd is the most repetitive fighter around. At least Hatton is being himself, one minute Floyd is money making Mayweather and is going to go toe to toe with everyone, then in the 24/7, he starts becoming all emotional and attempts to be humble. He seems to have erratic moods, like a teenger going through puberty.

I agree with that..perhaps stems from not having much of a childhood when he was younger. I guess that's the price he had to pay for being as good as he is. He makes me laugh sometimes when he gets into the swing of things he doesn't want to come off stage. Promoters and event staff end up having to drag him to his next destination lol. Happened to him today in London. Only thing i don't agree with is that he can't be repetitive if you can't tell what kind of mood he is going to be in ;)

Ok,he can be funny sometimes, but if you watch him often,it gets tedious. And when I say erratic,I mean it's either the emotional Mayweather or the money making Mayweather. That's repetitive. If he's being genuine about not having a childhood, then I do feel for him(I remember times I felt a bit sorry for him in 24/7)
Re: Floyd-Ricky 24/7 series!
I actually liked Ricky's personality and general attitude in the recent conference. He seemed at ease and confident. He is definitely capable of delivering some good one liners and he doesn't back down from Floyd. Floyd is Floyd...loud, brash, and over the top. Some of it is to sell the fight and some of it is his genuine personality. Between Floyd, uncle Roger, and Ellerbe...the unintentional comedy scale is high. But ultimately i think the 24/7 series, just like the Oscar vs. Floyd, will be more entertaining than the actual fight. Hope i'm wrong.

I actually find Ricky really dull and predictable.
Every single interview he's exactly the same'
'Well I'm just a down to earth typical lad really no different from any of the fans. I like to think I've remained humble and kept my feet on the ground really',
When interviewed about virtually anybody else.
'Well they are just really down to earth and humble really. I think it speaks volume really for their character that they still remain humble and keep their feet on the ground despite all their fame and attention. They are just really humble really.'
:blahbla: :cwm2: :cwm33:
Nice guy no doubt but slightly less interesting than Steve Davis.
Plus at the press conferences he talks like a reality show winner going on about thanking everyone for the opportunity to fight the best p4p fighter and how he never even expected to become British champ let alone multiple world champ ::**
He talks like Peter Manfredo did in the run up to the Calzaghe fight, i.e 'he's just glad to be a part of such a big spectacle and what an honour it will be to get his a** teared apart by one of the worlds best fighters.
Floyd wins this one easy.

You honestly think Hatton's little digs are going fold Mayweather up and get in his head ?? i don't think so somehow Mayweather is a true pro and he don't let things like that bother him and Mayweather is the one going to win by late stoppage or ud.
Can't believe you lot are English, I reckon your all pathetic! Probably support Brazil in the World cup.
Calm down Dan just because your a fan of Hatton and im not doesn't mean i have to automatically support him because he is English but there will be a bit of support for Hatton from me because he is English but i still will be supporting Mayweather over Hatton for simple reason is because i like Mayweather's style more than Hatton's i just don't like Hatton's style i find it messy i don't like all that clinching and ect Hatton sounds nice guy outside the ring but im just not a fan of his style and i don't care where a boxer comes from if he even was my next door neighbour if im not a fan of his style then i can't force myself to like it just because he is English otherwise i would be being biased.
As for football i couldn't really careless about couple of men kicking a football a round a field and about 80 percent of them are all wimps anyway i don't mind playing it but can't be asked to watch it.
Re: Floyd-Ricky 24/7 series!
I think that a lot of the segments from the Hatton side on 24/7 won't necessarily be all about Ricky. I think a lot of the Hatton footage will revolve around his fanbase in the UK and all the people traveling to Vegas for the fight.
I bet at least one episode will be heavily focused on following fans as they arrive in Vegas from the UK.
Re: Floyd-Ricky 24/7 series!
I have a feeling since Hatton likes to pull his pants down and moon people, we'll be seeing alot of his crack ::** He seems like a good dude and I wonder if his laid back persona going into this fight with Floyd is him just saying to himself: F#ck it, everyone knows and believes I'm an underdog, so why get my feathers ruffled??? This is a big payday for me, and hell, if I lose it's not like I'm the 1st one to lose to Floyd... I wonder if he really thinks he can beat Floyd or is just happy to be in the ring with the best??? I would like to see him win, but I have a feeling he's going to get mauled like a camper getting mauled by a bear. Someone said the 24/7 will be more exciting than the fight, and I tend to agree, but damn if I haven't seen more interest and sparks fly heading into this fight than I have for a long time, maybe since Tyson/Lewis. Maybe we'll get lucky and Hatton will go the distance and look so good there's a rematch, cause' it's fun waiting for this one for sure!! Maybe they'll show Ricky in the pubs eating beefsteak sandwiches and guzzling booze, and then filming him shedding 200 pounds 3 weeks out. ;D

How can you ask a guy unbeaton in his whole proffesional career over 9 years think hes going to loose?? Wtf. ::**
Re: Floyd-Ricky 24/7 series!
Well 2 years ago he said he wasn't ready for Floyd, but now after Urango and Collazo, and a good win over Castillo he thinks he's well prepared for Floyd??? I wish him the best but just wonder what he thinks deep down, that's all. No need to get so offended. Sad Click me if it will make you feel better.

I see what your saying, but listening to Floyd is like listening to his boy 50 Cent and alll these rapper that rap about the same sh@t over and over just rewording it. There is just no depth to him what so ever. Ricky may not be as flambouant but hes not an act all the time which to me is kind of a good thing. I do wish hed stop praising Floyd so much and maybe backhand him a couple times but thats what Floyd wants, to get under his skin. Floyd is many things though and intimidating is not one of them.

He didnt mean not ready in the terms he is to much of a challenge, if that was the case why would he be ready now? Floyd is now bigger and better at a higher weight?
Hatton wanted more of the pie, if he fought Floyd after his win against Kosta, he would of been lucky to be paid £2 million for the fight, now after some exposure over in the States he is ready and this fight could earn him £10 million. Thats why the delay.
Like Rickys dad said him and Mayweathers team have been planning this fight ever since Hatton beat Maussa, there plan was to keep the two unbeaten for the next 18 months and bring this fight together as a huge matchup of two undeafeted fighters. Sad clicks mate dont do them, but i was not having a go at you but i just dont think you understand what goes on in a boxers mind, it doesnt matter who the opponent if you have never suffered defeat do you really think you have that mentality? Come on your a winner always have been there will be only one thought in his mind and that is to beat this guy and he is 110% convinced he will.

Yeah I agree Floyd is just as predictable. My "predictable" commment was aimed at the entire human race. ;)

But Floyd is funny though, at least he is to me. Give Ricky a 10 minute slot and we know he'll talk about his humble roots, how grateful he is for the opportunites, how he's succeeded beyond his wildest dreams and what a privilage it is to be where he is. Then the interviewer will respond with the inevitable lovey dovey stuff about that's why the fans love him so much and Ricky will once again repeat how humble he is and then he'll go onto to say how humble whatever superstar friend he happens to be hanging with that weekend is.
You've seen one Ricky Hatton interview you've seen them all, nice guy but flatline response as far as watching him in interviews goes.
Floyd and his team on the other hand ARE entertaining,
Whether he's trash talking with 50 cent whilst having haircut, stealing his opponents personal belongings, dancing in the gym with his trainers or staring down chickens at press conferences his behaviour commands your attention, at least it does mine.
When you factor in his crazy hillybilly Uncle Roger and Predator faced estranged and pshyco daddy Floyd senior and you've got a recipe for an entertaining show.
I think these 24/7 shows and appearances on Dancing with the Stars could finally get Floyd the media attention his talent has always deserved.
So at least half of those who watch him end up screaming at their screens and hoping he gets knocked out, but that's the whole idea. It's all about pantomime and selling tickets at the end of the day and Floyd finally seems to have realised that.
I'd rather watch Floyd onscreen any day of the week.
Contrast his press conference with Calzaghe Kessler which went almost unnoticed last week because Kessler and Joe are just nice ordinary people. Guys like Floyd, James Toney and Zab Judah are what boxing needs to keep things interesting.
Re: Floyd-Ricky 24/7 series!
There's too much Love surrounding Hatton (something Mayweather simply hasn't got) All the advantages are with Ricky in the build up and he's in his element slowly grinding Floyds mind to one of self doubt 8)
Mayweather has never met anyone of Rickys Steel before ;)
